They are a new breed, a new race. Engineered rather than born, trained rather than raised, and their unique genetics have created more than one surprise...
Jacob left Faith six years before, unaware that the mark he left on her also left her in an agony of sexual heat that never dimmed. Now Jacob and Faith are together again, but surprises lurk around every corner and dangers as dark and deadly as their very creation surround them in more ways than one.

Breeds 11 Wolf Breeds 3 Featured Couple: Jacob (Wolf) & Faith (Wolf)
The first book in which both of the main characters are Breeds.
In that hateful lab where Hope’s mother is the top researcher, 3 wolves (Wolfe, Jacob and Aiden) are trying to survive. Faith is Aiden’s little sister. The evil scientists give young Faith a few aphrodisiacs and throw her to Jacob demanding to breed her for the good of science. Apparently Faith is his true mate and Jacob cannot stop himself. A huge explosion in the labs separates them afterwards.
Six years after both Jacob and Faith are in a mess.
Faith is a liaison to the Bureau of Breed Affairs and she is trying to live with the mating heat and the mood swings that consume her existence since Jacob left his mark on her.
Jacob is an Alpha enforcer working with Wolfe is order to establish the new Wolves base. As the head of all Wolf pack security, he holds a great deal of power. The last years he is battling with his feelings of guilt of what he did to young Faith.
In this book Wolfe is basically sends Jacob to Faith, force them to work together and eventually deal with the Mating Heat thingy.
Lots of arguing, lusting. Sexathon. Well, they are both Breeds with huge appetite and stamina. So we have lots of arguing, ‘you are mine’, sex, arguing, ‘you are mine’, sex, arguing, ‘you are mine’, sex and the order is this one for the majority of the book.
Important details: -Stygian is a guest star in this book. -WINGED BREEDS are introduced. They have psychic powers and they are begging to have their own books too…
I´m afraid this was the most disappointing book in the series. :(
I didn´t like either Jacob or Faith. I just couldn´t understand his reasoning for leaving her and his continuing refusal to admit he loved her. Completely ilogical, IMHO. Faith was a complete mess too, but I guess I could blame her raging hormones for that. NOT! She was warned about the effects of caffeine and alcohol when combined with the mating heat, but went out of the way to find the nearest bar and pump coffee and beer into her system!?! Is that the behavior of a reasonable adult or a spoiled child?
I almost stopped reading the book at that point because, honestly, there wasn´t much happening in the story but a lot of arguing and lusting. As a loyal Breeds fan, I persevered and, thankfully, was somewhat "rewarded" when the story picked up in the 2nd half of the book and something similar to a plot was presented. There was even some interesting tidbit about "reversing the Breeds´ DNA".
Now, a serious "complaint"... There´s something very wrong with the story arc and the timeline of the Breeds series. I first noticed this when I read 'Wolfe´s Hope' but decided to let it slide, thinking it was just a fluke. But after seeing more inconsistencies in 'Jacob´s Faith', I can no longer ignore this "problem". Here´s what bothered me:
- From what I gathered so far, the Breeds story is supposed to take place "somehwere in the near future". In 'Megan´s Mark', LL gave us the year 2023. In 'Wolfe´s Hope', the story starts in 1997 (when Wolfe and his Pack are still confined in the Labs) and ends in 2002 (when Wolfe and his Pack are already free). 'Jacob´s Faith' starts right after 'Wolfe´s Hope', so I´m thinking 2002, right? Wrong, because it´s again "somewhere in the near future". WTF?!?
- In 'Jacob´s Faith', someone (Faith, I think) says that Callan and Merinus have three children, Tanner and Scheme have twin newborn babies and there´s been a recent kidnapping attempt on David (Callan and Merinus first child) only weeks ago. This doesn´t add up! In 'Tanner´s Scheme', where we got to see David´s kidnapping attempt, there wasn´t any mention of Callan and Merinus having other children besides David, and Scheme wasn´t even close to being pregnant! (EDITED TO UPDATE: In a later book, there´s an explanation for the mis-information about Callan/Merinus´s alleged "three" children, so that´s one thing less to hold against this book.)
I know I´m nitpicking - blame it on my OCD - but the least I expect from an author is that he/she keeps close track of the story he/she is writing. If I, as a reader, can notice this "mistakes", the author should be able to avoid them in the first place. After all, he/she is the father/mother of the baby!
Oh, heck! I´ll just have to overlook that and keep enjoying the rest of the series.
For the most part I enjoy this series, but this book? I can't do it any more. I got to page 162, and there's still no plot. We just keep living the same scene over and over again.
"You left me for six years!" "I did it for you. Now say you're mine." "No"
Lots of sex.
"I lived without you for six years, I don't need you." "Damn you, you're mine"
Lots of sex.
"Blah, blah, blah" "Blah, blah."
Lots of sex.
And again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again.
Even if I liked the characters - which I DIDN'T - this is not enough to sustain me.
Jacob's Wolf becomes the second book ever to land on my DNF shelf.
No me gustó mucho.
Couldn't finish the book. Starting with my complete dislike of Jacob and his reasons for cowardly leaving, and ending with the double standards regarding jake and Faith. So it is alright for Jacob to go around and get laid, but God forbid Faith even look at another man. It is absolutely sickening, and a reason why I am surprised to see these double standards outside of a Harlequin book.
Faith was a sympathetic heroine for about 10 pages, and then I couldn't stand her. Poor Jacob felt like he had used her badly when she was 18 and everytime he saw her after he sensed fear - which as a Breed he can - so he stayed away. So when they are brought together again and he lets her know why he was away for so long (6 years), she's hot, then cold, then hot, then cold. Poor Jacob! You suffered, he suffered. She runs around like people aren't trying to kill Breeds in the same town she is in because she doesn't want anyone telling her she can't drink coffee or drink beer so if that means she has to sit in an open restaurant with all these strange men around her while making sure everyone notices her, well that's just too bad. Hated the relationship, hated the way Faith was with Jacob, hated that Jacob took it. I think this is my least favorite Breed book and I've really liked all the rest.
I love hearing about Wolfe and Hope. Wolfe has been on his own so long he does know how to handle his mate. Hope doesn't let him get away with much. Jacob is the usual clueless male thinking that since Faith is small and delicate looking that she can't handle the sex needs that he has. Faith has been waiting so long of Jacob that she is not sure if she wants to be with him or stay independent. I guess they are going to have to work things out soon. I had forgotten that the Council had a way to make the Wolves more able to conceive. This was a good story. I loved both Jacob and Faith. Faith was feisty and intelligent and more than a match for Jacob. Jacob is a typical Breed in being stubborn, over protective and a little to dense for his own good. As mentioned below there are a number of new characters noticed in this story as well as a new group of Breeds.
One of the best pieces of advise ever given to a Breed Male about mating heat and alcohol: Trust me. Jacob, you want to limit this as much as possible unless your stamina is equal to that of a rabbit. LMAO
Who is Caleb and is he going to be important to a Breed. This is the first time that Styx and Stygian have been mentioned. There is also mention of Tanner and Scheme having twins. I bet that just thrilled Tanner. This is also the first time the Winged Breeds have been mentioned.
This book was such a refreshment from its predecessor and I'm so very thankful for that! It had passion and tension and the main characters had a history with each other, they didn't just met and fell madly in a mess of lust and love. Faith is probably one of my favorites female characters, probably the best one since Sherra and that is saying something, because there were some very good and wicked ladies until this book. Jacob was so full of it and Faith told him to suck it up and then they didn't just have a witful banter, they went right down to it and started to fight and be crazy with lust; which leads me to the sex point of the book: a LOT more than the others and that is pretty amazing, since Ms. Leigh LOVES her sexy men and women getting down and dirty with each other. Oh, and it had an ending that simply ended the Faith and Jacob part but left a wide opening for us to know who would be the next Breed and what is going to be the deal of the next instalment. Great read!
Jacob's Faith is a new form of torture...I wish I could take a real gun and shoot the imaginary heroine out of her pathetic, miserable life, right fucking now. She's a real pain, a stupid, childish one too.
I honestly don't care about the characters or their relationship or the story, because frankly, there's no story. All they ever do from start to finish (prologue excluded) is argue and argue, and argue. And then they have sex. And then they argue again. The pattern continues from the first chapter until chapter 22. Then all of a sudden, they're under attack and in the midst if said attack, they bicker. I'm surprised no one shoot their mouths off, literally.
So... I love the Breed series but... the inconsistencies throughout the series are starting to become a distraction. I point the finger to her editors who should be catching these things for her while Lora focuses on story development. I also think there's a definitive diference between books published by Elora and the others... her Elora books have less satisfying plots, and (dare I say) too much sex. But I still can't stop reading the series - I love me some Breeds.
I really liked this one as well, even though there were a few moments in the book that made me side eye the characters and the book itself.
This one deals with Faith who is an enforcer, years before when in the labs she was made the mate of Jacob in a bid by the scientist to get the Breeds to actually be able to become pregnant. Faith is the sister of the pack leader in the labs & he knew his sister loved Jacob and they did their best to protect her. On the night they are rescued the couple were forced to mate for the scientist and then they were separated. Jacob carries the scars from that night fearing he had hurt the woman he had begun to love he's made himself scarce. Faith became an Enforcer after her mate abandoned her, she had been young and left with nothing to hang on she pushed herself to become more. Feeding the need in ways that are actually destructive she's not willing to give up her power.
This story had several moments that made me look at the Jacob character askance. In several moments he pushes Faith even when she's clearly stated her opionion he goes beyond the line she's dran, whetehr's it's getting rid of her coffee and sex toys, to destroying clothes he doesn't which her to wear.
Faith is at times severely immature and childish in her behavior towards Jacob. The two butt heads often on how to accomplish the mission and Faith at times risked the mission in an attempt to prove she as capable. Like hmm really because that's stupid as hell to do just to prove you're as good as you say. We find new characters in this one, which we will see later int he series again. The new lab showcases creatures the pack is shocked to discover. The mystery unfolds quickly and this book showcases several of the strings that get pulled later on and become full stories. I loved seeing some of the other characters who become their own later.
It takes a while for Faith and Jacob to stop circling each other. They struggle with their past in the labs and their feelings about that first night. Faith's memory of it is is different from Jacob's and they have to work at coming to a concession on their beliefs and understanding. They work out their feelings after some serious moments, and I loved how they battled their conversations and non intimate scenes at times making me lol.
Another good addition, but as I said, the casual way in which rape is used as a way to threaten the female character into behaving wasn't ok with me. In this one you can begin to see the story moving from just an erotica with lots of sex to having more to do with the background story of the Council and the labs & the different kinds of Breeds being created. Even though chronological this is the 11th book, it appears this one was written before the Berkely books.
Six years ago, the Lab technicians went so far as to pump Faith full of aphrodisiac and offered her to Jacob on a silver platter. Since she was his destined mate, he couldn't help himself, but the explosion rocking the labs put a stop to the more or less amorous intentions, and Jacob disappeared.
Jacob's lived with self-disgust ever since, certain he's hurt her, convinced Faith now feared him. He returned briefly six months ago to help Wolfe in getting his mate and promptly disappeared again...He didn't count on the fact Wolfe would go so far as to send Faith after him just to be rid of her horny, hormonal outbursts.
Now Jacob has to face his own fears and demons, Faith's anger toward what she still sees as betrayal of the worst sort, and a common enemy that emerged to find them and destroy them forever.
Yawn. There's nothing more to say. This could've been one heck of a book, the back story alone was great source of conflict, but the author unfortunately failed to exploit all the little nuances the conflict between the two characters and the characters themselves provided.
The plot was nonexistent, the action wasn't gripping, the initial conflict disappeared in a puff of smoke, the sex scenes were repetitive and boring, and the characters bland at best. Although Jacob still had his bright moments, Faith was an immature, childish, self-centered schizophrenic with a caffeine and BOB addiction. She was the perfect example of a rape wanting to happen. She was so demented in fact, I kept hoping someone would put her out of her misery with a well-aimed bullet to her thick skull. Trust me, when I root for the heroine to be killed, that's a bad sign for the book.
So I found myself merely skimming the pages, hoping for a miracle that wouldn't come. Thank God it wasn't overly long, I don't think my brain cells could've made it another ten pages, I could hear them groan with the torture. The only thing that I liked about it was the required happy ending and the kick-ass cliffy in the epilogue. I hope Aiden's Charity lives up to the promise.
A horrendous excuse for a book that I wouldn't recommend to anyone without extensive stack of pain-medication.
I been wanting to read this and Aidens story the most and I was not disappointed. Faith has been on her own for six years after their escape from the Labs. Six years with out her mate Jacob by her to help her through her heat. In those years Faith has been doing her job as Wolfe's Liaison between the Packs and their informants but also on the downside she has been doing everything she shouldn't to make her heat more unbearable, and also warning this woman loves, I means LOVES her vibrators, she brings them up A LOT. She has gotten to the point where Wolfe has ordered her to find Jacob to give some paperwork to but that paperwork is about her and when she finds Jacob and gives him the paper her life has just been turned upside down. When Jacob sees Faith in the bar he is at his alpha-ness kicks in and demands her to summit to him or leave, he should have made her leave because the once shy and scared Faith is no longer the girl he remembers and in her place is a hellion and he is in a world of hurt not by his lust but by her heat, her alpha-ness and her need to go against his orders for beer, coffee and her 'toys'. Now she has found his security system lacking in many ways and he is about to paddle her for breaking is orders but thanking her for the advice. Like I said these two will put each other through so much where they will fight over the simplest of things.
Ugh, this book was very disappointing and frustrating. I had little sympathy for the two main characters, especially Jacob.
If I were Faith I probably would have no patience for Jacobs crap. She stays sassy for a long time, which I liked, but then she caves. I felt that was kind of unrealistic. Jacobsen her for six years, and is totally misguided in his beliefs.
Jacob pretty much annoyed me throughout the whole book. His whole tortured soul attitude wasn't convincing. And his anger towards Faith was uncalled for; he was the one that left her to suffer!
There wasn't really any plot or direction in this book, other than Jacob and Faiths constantly struggling relationship. It almost felt like a mix between unnecessary filler and tons of not so steamy sex scenes.
Probably one of the most unsatisfying and disappointing books in the series. So far I haven't been a fan of the wolf breed series except for Dash's book. I'm not looking forward to the rest of the wolf breed books.
I've read several other of this series and have enjoyed them all. This one was just too much. Too much revenge, too much guilt, too much anger and rancor between Jacob and Faith. While I can understand some of it on Faith's part, it goes on for far too long and poisons the story. Both are strong characters, neither willing to give an inch, but Faith is determined to make Jacob pay, and pay, and pay some more for the years that they have been separated.
As I said, I can understand the why of it, there is just too much poison in the relationship and I as a reader could not overcome it.
almost no story. more sex than anything. found myself skipping to find the story. The only redeeming part is the new Breeds it reveals. I love the new ones. want more information about them. Also feels like this is a new story. They say there are no wolf offspring born naturally in this story. But Dash and Elizabeth had a child naturally in Elizabeth's Wolf. So this confused. Not sure if they just mean the Wolf Breeds from Wolf's pack having an issue. But should have been more clear instead of too much sex.
2.5 stars I was really excited for their story when we met them previously.. but as you can tell, I couldn't get through this book! I put it down for several months.. and it kept glaring at me, and I want to continue in the series, so I picked it up today to finish, I ended up skimming a lot of it *sigh* Um... wtf: "...thick length of his tumescence an inch deeper." "The thick froth of her cream..." "....stretched her netherhole..." "The frothy, bubbling brew..." ---just UGH.
This was an interesting novel to read, for me anyways. Mostly because it was nothing like I imagined it would be. I had gotten a little sneak peek into this novel from a previous one and from my take on that one I'd say that it was intriguing. It seems that Jacob was threatening to physically harm her in some way and that she was scared of him. However, what I read was far from that and it was extremely delightful to read. Faith is by far my favorite wolf Breed so far and it's going to take a lot for me to day that she's not. She made this novel interesting and most importantly funny. Two of the most important things for me in a female character. In this novel Faith had been without Jacob for six years now. Combine that with the separation of the mating heat and Faith is one unhappy woman. She's very irritable and gets very cranky without her toys and coffee. She's been told by her Alpha that she needs to go find Jacob and to give him a letter. Any place that Jacob's in is too close for Faith, so she refuses to take it, but ends up going anyways. So she finds Jacob alright, but not in America. Jacob is on a mission in another country when Faith waltz right into his life again. He's tried to stay away from her for her own good and so far it's worked out. When Faith hands him a letter he's immediately on high alert. The letter is from the man that Jacob recognizes as his Alpha and it's telling him to mate with Faith all the way. Now the problem is that Faith wants nothing to do with him and that the person he wants is determined to kill either him or her. Most likely she, so his job is now harder to do and with a grumpy she wolf around he'll never find his killer. Faith doesn't help by antagonizing him either. She's determined to make this as painful as possible for Jacob and she's loving the fact that it's his turn to squirm. This is more of a romance novel that just happens to be urban fantasy too. Throughout the whole novel you'll see specks of romance I the air or at least attempts at it. The fact that the characters are part animal means nothing of the sorts. For an urban fantasy novel it isn't that bad of a plot. The basics are already down, so all that's left is the action and adventure. The main character was flawless in my opinion. She was portrayed as a weak woman, but was turned into a fierce and strong-willed woman. It was the perfect setup for this plot and it was done excellently. She went right along with all the ass-kicking and gun-toting men. It was perfect for this novel and I would recommend it for a fantasy lover.
To expand their spy's information on breed mating, the council's Mexican lab has plans for their wolf pack. Delia Bainsmith orders Jacob to mate their sole female, Faith, after over dosing her with aphrodisiacs and locking her in Jacob's cage. Meanwhile, Wolfe is ordered to mate Hope awhile Faith's brother Aiden undergoes a different torture under Bainsmith's direction.
Faith had a crush on Jacob as long as the pack could remember and he didn't want to do this. He couldn't let her be handed to the guards as a plaything plus she smelled so good he couldn't resist. Drugged and immature, Faith didn't understand what was happening, Jacob knew what happened between them but had little chance to correct it when the lab was exploded and the pack scattered.
Six years later, Jacob returns to help the pack ensure their Alpha finds his mate but disappears again. Sharing information with the feline sanctuary, Wolfe quickly sees a solution to a problem and sends pack liaison, Faith on a mission to locate remote enforcer Jacob. Wolfe realized Faith and Jacob's mating was incomplete and forced them together to resolve their issues.
Clear but fumbling rationalization for character actions, deja vu and a somewhat limp story didn't help the barely there leads for my taste. This reader was also disappointed by the possibilities left unexplored, the first breed mating, a new clan being established, a species thought to be dead, first time in a lab, etc. Rating: 3stars
I'm going to try very hard NOT to shred this book too badly, but I do have to say that I really hope the formula and pattern of these books change or else I'm going to get REALLY bored. I'm only on book #11 and I feel like I am reading the same book over and over and over again. Totally hot, zero plot. That's my new catch phrase for when a book really is two stars but I have elevated it to three because of the hot sex scenes. And there was a pretty good description going on there of Faith. However, wow, she really defines the word BITCH for a female dog in heat with all of her complaining, her incessant whining about her need for coffee and beer, and OMG WHAT WAS WITH ALL THE TALK ABOUT THE VIBRATORS!? It was an enjoyable book but VERY predictable, the ending seemed extremely "oh, let's toss that in there so it's not just sexsexsex" and I'm glad that there is actually a foreshadowing for Aiden's Charity in there...gives me something to look forward to. I'm just actually a little surprised that there are thirty of these Breeds books out there if this is going to be the formula with every single one. I think the ones I liked the best were the ones about the Feline Breeds in the beginning and I did enjoy Tanner's Scheme quite a bit as well. Anyway, I'll keep plugging along...I can't not finish a series when I'm this far in!
The second in the Wolf Breeds series, this is Jacob and Faith's story. They obviously didn't see things the same way when Jacob left Faith 6 years before, to protect her and because he thought he hurt her, while Faith felt abandoned and rejected.
The new-and-improved Faith shocked Jacob to the core, she's now badass, fiery, but still lusciously tempting. Since they were mated, they just couldn't resist each other's touch. They really matched well, this is not a case of opposites attract, Faith defies Jacob every step of the way - the coffee, alcohol, and being owned. But of course in the end, they'll get all soft and vulnerable, then confess their deepest feelings.
I loved how everything was sorted out, and the bad guy was killed. Jacob and Faith are both Alpha and the author made it work by making them compromise. It's what every relationship needs - understanding: despite your unwillingness to give in, somehow you should and get back something in return for the sacrifice. Because I was enjoying their newfound love, I didn't realize I was close to the end, I enjoyed the sex, there's just the right amount of the wild side, the kinkiness, and some emotional. I'm reading the next one.
It was okay. I noticed that the dialog of a scene near the beginning of the book was basically repeated word for word towards the end of the book. That's not just sloppy editing, it's completely lazy.
I have to say, I liked Dash Sinclair, ever since then I have been just unimpressed with the wolf breeds. They seem surly and growly and not in a good way. All uptight and clueless, and they have this tendency to be cruel.. As such, I never warmed up to Jacob at all. He reminded me of this boyfriend I once had who had a tendency to say "I'm an ass. I'll always be an ass. I'm not going to change." Yeah. Not my boyfriend anymore.
I did admire Faith and her loyalty to her coffee. Also, that she never did really submit, though a couple of times Jacob was fooled into thinking he somehow won. Crafty girl, that's what I expect from a wolf.
Also, why do they always have to damn each other? Damn you Faith, Damn you Jacob. And typically they are damning each other the most when they are most happy about what's going on.
This was almost a repeat of Wolfe's Hope, but with more content & without the sexual torture. The plot was almost non-existent & the sex was extremely repetitive. To the point, where I ended up skipping through the last 1/4 of the book because it was just another boring sex scene. The ending was nothing but a set up for the next book, Aiden's Charity.
This book was filled with lots of hot steamy sex, conflict between Jacob and Faith, more sex, and continued investigation into the Labs. Of course the alpha male struggled with guilt, feeling like he had lack of control around Faith, and his belief that Faith was fragile. Faith is pretty much the opposite of delicate. She is a kick ass, beer drinking, independant, take charge of living her own life; including taking care of her own sexual needs. I like how Faith's constant strong willed behavior frustrated Jacob and had him reevaluating his misconceptions.
I liked the native American on the cover and thats all I liked.I did not finish.I struggled for a month but my brain refused.Jacob was a straight up jerk and Faith was Breed mate.I'm sure she could be interchangeable with the rest. The flashback from the lab just put me off.The there was the fact that in those 6 years Faith suffered Jacob was out enjoying other women. Is this truly fair? When they got back together and Jacob decides to assert dominance by taking Faith It became too irritating for me to go on.
I really enjoyed this book it was better than the short novella and then Tanner's book. My only complaint is that I want more action. I want to know more about what is going on overall. Faith was a very likable female in the series. I liked that she became strong and didn't act dumb she just did everything I expected her to do being hurt by her mate.
Very good read I hope we get many more like this one. I really enjoy breed and breed books I feel they are some of the best. and Why can't the wolf breeds conceive?
