These books are all the rage these days. This one is superior to most of the lot because in addition to the puzzles, it's a DK book so there is some neuroscience thrown in and tips for boosting your cognition and memory. This was helpful and a fun read.

Some of the initial sections are good but then the book goes off course into things that aren't related to memory, puzzles or exercises. It has sections on being creative by showing you pictures and making up a story about them? Reading comprehension? And some of the examples or problems in the book have "answers" that are arguable.

But the worst part is near the end when it starts to talk about meditation, yoga, T'ai Chi, and Eastern philosophy. Why? It really has little to do with what this book is supposed to be about and seems to be pushing an agenda. They mention all those things but nothing about prayer or Christian philosophy (which also has no place here, but the point is this is lop-sided propaganda).

It needs many more exercises but has a lot of good colorful illustrations. Worth a quick look for some fun mind tricks, but the authors needed to cut out a lot of the junk.

The author of this book is Tony Buzan, who introduced mind mapping to the world.

The DK series is a great resource for Visual Learners, but I thought the methods presented in this book were not practical.

In this day and age, with the development of the cloud, we don't need to memorize everything.
Among Tony Buzan's methods, mind mapping is the most efficient.

Interesting book on the various skills of the brain with facts to explain and exercises to try. I found most of the exercises fun but I'm not sure how much it actually helped me to boost my memory and/or brain power. I should have done a before and after test.
