This book is incredibly well done with lots of little tips for making your crochet look more professional. The one poorly done section is on how to use a different yarn with a pattern. The explanation is confusing and even uses a knitting term (cast on). It appears this may have been taken from some other book and pasted here, leaving it to not be complete and thus be helpful.

I recommend this book to the beginner and more experienced crocheter alike. I have intermediate crochet skills and found useful bits of information here I hadn't come across before. My work will look more professional after reading this book.

If nothing else, check out the blocking example on page 287. Changed my thoughts on blocking forever.

An excellent resource for anyone wanting to develop their crochet skills.

Lots of detail and handily includes both US and UK terminology plus a great stitch dictionary which will help readers understand patterns and design their own projects.

I already had the Ultimate Knitting Bible which I find very useful and since I have only just learnt to crochet I knew this would be a good buy.

I love and covet this book. I keep checking it out of the library, every time I want to read over the edging ideas, or see the many stitches so clearly illustrated, or just have a new inspiration. Jane Crowfoot never lets me down!

Gives a comprehensive basic techniques and stitches as well as more complex ideas to master later on. A good crochet guide for beginners or those with more experience.

This book is absolutely gorgeous!! There are extremely helpful and clear illustrations, as well as some very artistic photographs. The instructions and techniques are all clearly described, but some of the text is in desperate need of proofreading. (That is the single reason why I rate this at 4 stars instead of 5.) The mistakes don't hinder understanding, they're just plain mistakes — some of which are hilariously obvious. At any rate, I would love to own this book to reference and can recommend it!

It's huge and hard to handle, in both hardcover and paperback, but it's got everything!

The title is truly apt. This book has everything from large pictures showing how to make just about every kind of crochet stitch, details on how to put together a sweater, blocking a completed project--really, anything you would need.

I might buy my own copy for reference.

Wish I owned this book for reference. It is beautifully done. I mostly looked at the pictures, so I don't think that counts as finished. Why or why do I have to take it back to the library? Well, it is now on my wishlist and I hope I find it in my own library someday.

I am starting to pick up knitting again, and this book has been SO helpful for me. It instructs me step by step how to perform every type of knit, and explains which materials are best for each different type of yarn. I am very excited to start my knitting journey all over again.

A good reference book for beginners but rather lacking in projects for the more advanced crocheter.
