Soothsayer Volume 1, Issue 1 (summer 2020) of Isomantis Giglio-Tos, 1917 Given the historical documentation from multiple authors regarding the differentiating characters of Isomantis morphology in conjunction with the more modern findings of genitalia distinctions of this genus that are not shared by Stagmomantis, the previous synonymy put forth by Terra is hereby rejected and Isomantis is to be reinstated to the status of a valid genus.Revision of Stagmomantis Saussure, 1869 As both Giglio-Tos and Rehn reached roughly the same conclusions through different methodologies regarding the segregation of the various species within Stagmomantis, it is clear that the subdivisions erected by these two authors have merit and thus should be regarded with an elevated taxonomic designation of subgenera rather than the informal group designation as proposed by Rehn. New subgeneric system for Stagmomantis is proposed. Revalidation of Stagmomantis (Stagmomantis)conspurcata (Serville, 1839) Due to this newfound endemism of carolina, it is necessary to reevaluate the previous names that have been historically synonymized with this species. Regarding those species with type localities from the United States, all but two are to be upheld as true synonyms. Stagmomantis (Stagmomantis) conspurcata (Serville, 1839) is suggested to be reinstated as a valid species to demarcate this population from that of carolina.
