Maurice Leblanc (1864-1941) was a French novelist and writer of short stories, known primarily as the creator of the fictional gentleman thief and detective Arsene Lupin, often described as a French counterpart to Conan Doyle's creation Sherlock Holmes.
Maurice Leblanc (1864 - 1941) was a French novelist, best known as the creator of gentleman thief (later detective) Arsène Lupin.
Leblanc began as a journalist, until he was asked to write a short story filler, and created, more gallant and dashing than English counterpart Sherlock Holmes.
Would give 2.5 stars if I could. This was written at the time when Leblanc got tired of Lupin stories and tried to write something else. Those stories just didn’t capture the charm Lupin did.
Dnf. I didn’t persist with this for long as I had trouble following the story. I’m not sure if this was due to the quality of the LibriVox narration or the text itself.
