About the author

Robert Marsh grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, but longed to live somewhere else. He pretended not to live in Omaha by reading lots of books. Every week, Robert checked out twenty books from the library. Since he didn't have time to read all those books, he would read the first chapter of each one -- then make up the rest of the story. Robert now makes up stories for a living and doesn't live in Omaha. Dreams do come true.

Fun book. I had fun reading this with my kids. I like that it is set like a comic book. Thanks Robert :)

For reasons unclear to me, Gabby volunteers her pet monster Dwight for the school spelling bee. He might be a great speller, but no one seems able to understand him. He tries speech therapy, and Mr. Pine volunteers to help even while the vice principal wants to see him fail. I might have enjoyed this graphic novel more if I knew the backstory or if there was a little more to the plot than just the title's play on words since Dwight is a monster who can spell.
