Jada had lived so long in an emotional desert, mostly of her own making, that she discovered it was hard to resist the invitation Larissa sent, even though she wasn't completely comfortable with the idea. Nevertheless, Larissa's appeals didn't fall on deaf ears. She had needs she'd ignored way too long-and she was still a nervous wreck when she arrived in Scotland! She'd thought she would be lucky to find one man she found reasonably attractive. Finding three she found completely irresistible was just a little overwhelming-fun-but still hard to handle-and that was before she discovered the wolf masks really hid the true men behind them! They weren't just wolf-like. They were wolves!
Why do I do this to myself? Why do I continue to read poorly written stories when there are some truly amazing works just waiting ever so patiently for me to notice them on my bookshelves, yearning for the day they will be set free to blow my mind?
Maybe I'm a masochist and I enjoy the pain brought by bad grammar, repetitive plot points and silly ways of explaining away any real character or relationship development with a quickly scrawled "Hey, you smell amazing. That means the universe has chosen you to be my destined mate. And my cousins will be joining the party? Even better! Let's start fucking now, gotta work on getting you preggers. What? You've been told your barren? No fear, sweet lady. Our wolfy jizz is actually supersperm. Guaranteed to fertilize even the most recalcitrant of wombs. Allow me to demonstrate."
And if you think that was a spoiler, I put it to the jury that you wouldn't recognize a plot point if it dressed up in garters and did the cancan on your desk. When our "heroine" (and I use that term quite wrongly) and her BFF spend the first two chapters telling each other how infertile the heroine is, you have to know where that's gonna end up.
Yes, I'm quite sure I must enjoy the pain because I. Keep. Reading. These. Books. Craptastic? Bring it on! Poorly written smut? Perfect! Characters who seem suffer from multiple personality disorder? Better and better. I'm sure I'm punishing myself for some past sin. It's the only explanation to the mind-boggling question of why I finish these books.
This one was okay, I guess. Nothing to go too crazy about.
If you are expecting to see a lot of wolves on this book you couldn't be more wrong. But if you're expecting lots of menage a quatre sex scenes while wearing ball masks, then you've come to the right place.
SHB isn’t shy about how much we like wolves especially wolves that like to ‘share’.
'll be honest I accepted this book for review purely based on the rating - it said 'carnal. Sad I know but don't act like you wouldn’t have either *crickets*. Moving on, Dances with Wolves (no relation to the Kevin Costner movie) starts off with a lonely little lady named Jada. Due to her infertility she feels like she can't have a rewarding relationship. Unhappy with where her life is going, she receives a naughty invitation from her BFF Larissa to join her in Scotland for a masquerade ball. And this is where it gets juicy…er I mean good. After finding out that the masquerade ball is basically an orgy, Jada decides to throw caution to the wind and ‘participate’, where she meets not one but tres dudes! Cousins: Caden, Lucas, and Phelan have fallen for the masked beauty and have to learn to share as she is the true mate of all three. As Jada becomes more intimate with all three her turmoil continues because she knows her time is running short and she will have to return back to America...
I liked how the ménage+1 was written and usually the whole masquerade-orgy isn't really my reading forte but I thought it added a nice fantasy element. Sometimes with ménage stories it's sex this and sex that, which don't get me wrong, I'm totally and completely ok with; DWW had a nice balance with the relationship aspect and the sexy time. Each wolf had a personal relationship with Jada as opposed to all four being intimate together. I think if you are in the mood for a nice erotic romance with men who like to share, Dances with Wolves is a nice reprive from my Steampunk romance trend.
Anthology - part of An Alpha Christmas: Holiday Tales of Werewolves, Dragons, Shifters, Demons and More
3-1/2 stars. I liked it but didn't love it. The guys kept saying how the heroine was stubborn but they must have been seeing something I didn't because she just seemed to be going with the flow to me.
You know, most of the time when I'm reading a paranormal romance book I'm like "WEREWOLVES ARE YUMMY! SEND THEM MY WAY! MORE THAN ONE?!? NO PROBLEM! I'M NOTHING IF NOT ACCOMMODATING!" I mean, I can suspend my disbelief over a lot of things. But this book had one thing going for it that tickled my squick factor...
To start with, I have a best friend. I have more than one, in case you're wondering, but that's not really the point. I've never had the urge to call my BFF up and invite her to an orgy. Seriously. I know this might shock some of you, but the thought has never crossed my mind. We are surprisingly candid in our discussions about sex and I've never been, "Well, I'm looking to get laid, can you hook me up?" Likewise, she's never asked that of me, either. That might be because she's married, though. Once again, not the point. The fact that Jada's best friend invited her to a sexy masquerade (which is a fancy way of saying "copious amounts of semi-anonymous sex between consenting adults, most of which takes place behind closed doors".) with the sole intention of "getting her laid" just kinda squicks me. Really, that's friendship for you. For the record, I always thought of an orgy as just a big, sweaty, heaving room of debauchery. This book has proved me wrong. They have all their sweating and heaving IN THE BEDROOM! Well, and outside that one time, but there's no big room dedicated to the ... oh, wait. Maybe there was. I think it means that the books of smut are running together in my mind when I can't remember if it was this one or the other one I'm reading that had the Room of Debauchery.
I guess I need to point out that I didn't hate this book. It was just... okay. You know, it's the book you read between the others. Probably the most frustrating aspect of it was the oodles and oodles of exposition, mostly expounding on the fact that Jada is infertile. Dude. I get it. She can't have babies and it's tainted all the relationships she's ever had and she's insecure in her femininity because of it.
Bottom line: Didn't hate it, didn't love it. It was just middle of the road. The sex was pretty sexy, though. I have to give it that.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novella. The story was passionate; both in terms of the friendship between Jada and Larissa, as well as romance, lust, and love brewing between Jada and cousins Caden, Lucas, and Phelan. I liked that the human and wolf traits of all three men were integrated so seamlessly.
The story opens with Jada accepting an invitation from her best friend Larissa to spend some time in Scotland. This is where she meets the men who will change her life. Jada harbors a tragic secret that she believes will never allow a man to love her. I love how the storyline begins with the tragedy of Jada's secret and follows through with the cousins helping her overcome it.
The love scenes were incredibly sexy and hot! There was a perfect blend of sex, flirting, and romance. I will most definitely be keeping an eye out for more of Ms. Monroe's work. She is incredibly talented. The story flowed very easily with none of the lulls that you sometimes find. Ms Monroe has given the reader a tortured heroine and the three strong, sexy Alpha male heroes that can help her heal and begin to share her life with.
Tuly an erotic book about a young American professional who goes to Scotland to visit her best friend and to participate in a Masked Ball. There she encounters three wolfen shifters who believe her to be their Mate. Lots of hot loving and some surprises along the way. Also highlights the struggle the heroine has to find her way from loneliness into a relationship which can not only change her life configuration but her own sense of personal power and her ability to relate to powerful men. A very good read.
I came into this expecting exactly what I got, so maybe that explains my lack of disappointment ;) It was quite satisfying watching these men walk on egg shells around the h, and I enjoyed living vicariously through her visiting her friend's castle.
I'm glad I finally read this. Trying to read books I downloaded on my Kindle years ago. Glad I read so far I've been disappointed but this was a fun quick read.

My Thoughts: I kept waiting for this story to get better........but alas it did not for me. The story was unbelievable...really unbelievable. Jada wore a mask during the entire part and she never "saw" the men she was sleeping with. Sounds more skanky than sexy to me. I wasn't a fan of this story because I didn't care for the content or the characters.
I really didn’t like the heroine Jada was a coward. She was completely obsessed with her infertility. Like the ability it have a baby is the only thing in life and she was worthless because if it. It was truly annoying. I ended up skimming through several pages because I couldn’t stand her constant whining. I was very glad this was a kindle unlimited book. I will return it.
This has been on my TBR list for a very long time. I just wanted a little bit more. Jade goes to a party that her best friend was hosting in Scotland. The premise was good just not the execution. It was okay just not in love with it.
