Finished this urban literature read in about a day or so off the recommendation of a librarian friend and must say it was just okay..I am a self proclaimed curious little girl about anything I have never experienced and prison is one of them so I was intrigued..I watch Cops, and Jail and all that stuff so I can believe that some crazy twisted things go on in jail but I just didnt believe this book..it was silly..Okay so the story follows an inmate Divine Jones as he and his boy Niko are locked up for twelve years..During their time in prison you are introduced to the rest of their crew and all the sick happenings and relationships between inmates, Correctional Officers, visitors and those at home waiting..It was a classic tale of a duo of criminals where one partner is smart and the other is the muscle and they work together until they are caught..now fighting rumors of snitches, corrupt correctional officers and inside drama Divine struggles to keep his sanity and his hope for freedom while desperately clinging to his manhood in a place where men do whatever with whoever to get through the lonely nights..It was a crazy book that gave up alot of man secrets and exposed the inner secrets of homosexuality in prisons..sad but true I dont recommend this book but it is entertaining and drama filled I suppose...
