It's useful as a reference. It's not really reading material and it's not very entertaining, but the concepts are broken down well. If you've already gotten a good background in science, you might wanna look somewhere else, but if not, this is a great book.

This book is excellent as reference material, but not so much for entertaining reading, which is OK. When it comes to Science, I would rather be informed than entertained.

Wow- so comprehensive- from abiogenesis and ploidy in biology to hypernovas, inventions and nootropics leading to development of drugs to block painful memories (wouldn't that be amazing) Short details, bolded topics well organized and illustrations when appropriate. Buy the book. Gift it too.
