In 1994, Brenda Jackson’s first novel, Tonight and Forever, was released. Since then she has had more than 100 novels and novellas published (the first African-American author to accomplish such a feat) and has over 3 million books in print.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Brenda is the first African-American author to have a book published by Harlequin Desire and the first African-American romance author to make the New York Times and USA TODAY bestseller lists within the series romance genre.

In 2012, Brenda received the Romance Writers of America’s Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award—one of the highest literary awards a romance author can receive. In 2013, she was recognized by the mayor and the city of Jacksonville as being a Trailblazer in the literary field.

Nicholas and Shayla make a fitting couple. It was definitely a shock to find out who Shayla's mother and father were but nonetheless a happy reunion. Great read! I can't wait t to find out about the "Ashton Sinclair" and his counterpart Nettie!!!

Shayla applies for a job with Nicholas as her boss but not to actually do her job but to destroy his company from the inside out. she also has plans to destroy TJ. out of revenge she started this job but within the first week of working she realizes that she can't go through with the plan. she wants revenge because of her mother's death but later finds out that she's in the same situation. her mother was once blamed for seeking out secrets for the competition and because she doesn't tell Nicholas the truth fast enough she is blamed for the same thing. only to find out that she was set up by a coworker and to find out that the people she thought with her parents really aren't. Trent goes on a cruise he just started and meet a girl by the name of Brenna. determined not to be deceived by the first guy that looks away Brenna takes time to see if Trent is actually the right guy for her.

Out to destroy two companies Shayla found herself falling in love with one of the owners, the other one she thought was her unknown father who had suggested that her mother get an abortion, but unbeknownst to her he was not really her father. The young CEO woed'd her and she him. There's more to this story if you every read A Madaris Family Novel you will continue to read everything by Brenda Jackson. What is True Love?

Every page was filled with action and suspense to see who was trying to sabotage Nicholas' company and to see if Shayla was going to be honest about her initial reasons for applying for a job at his company. Awesome read with many twists and turns. I enjoyed this immensely.

True love. Wow! This book was great to read! I was captivated by the characters. There were so many twists and turns. Shayla got a job at Chenault Electronics to get revenge on the Chenault family for destroying her mom's life before she died. She didn't expect to get involved with Nicholas. Once her secret is revealed, other secrets come up and Shayla discovers a lot more about her real parents. A great read!

This was such a good story. Nicholas and Shayla had an instant attraction. Unfortunately it was a job interview where she was applying for a job at his company. She was hellbent on getting revenge for her mother. Instead she fell in love.
I did not see that plot twist coming. I am usually better at picking up on the breadcrumbs. It was really well done.
I also loved the side story of Trent and Breanna. That was an added bonus.

I hate to give away a story. But I must say that the Aunt Callie twist was a real surprise! All the suspense and additional story lines made it a great read. Also, Ms. Jackson does a terrific job returning and expanding previous characters and keeping them connected. Thanks again, Brenda!!

Excellent read! I knew there would be a happily ever after ending, but I couldn't figure out how it was going happen. And even when I thought I had it, Brenda Jackson threw in a curve.

True Love was a joy to read. It begins with Shayla's attempt to ruin Chenault's Electronics because of wrong that was done to her mother, twenty-seven years ago. As she finds out, things don't always go according to your plans. Along the ways she falls in love with Nicholas Chenault (the enemy) and decides to save his company rather than destroy it. There is a twist when finds out that the parents that raised weren't her biological parent. You have to read this book to uncover the shocking truth.

This 9th book's story line was loving & surprising. I loved the hot & steamy scenes. Some parts in this story surprised me. I felt sorry for Shayla's mom. I was so happy for Trent. I loved reading about the updates on the other characters. I loved the ending.
