I quite enjoyed this book. It tells the tale of Number 1 Column during the initial incursion into Zululand. It begins prior to the buildup of forces, continues through the advance drive and relief of Eshowe. It gives good detailed accounts of the above as well as the battles at the Nyezane and Gingindlovu. This is written in an easy to read format, with plenty of detail, and anecdotes. There were plenty of maps, drawings, and pictures to keep the reader on track with the action. Overall a great book on the subject.
