Limelight Entertainment is Sofia Wellesley's whole life. So she's fit to be tied when she discovers her agency is about to merge with Limelight's biggest rival - run by none other than Ram Jordan. Sofia had a major crush on Ram when she was growing up - until her childhood friend became her worst enemy.
National Best-selling author Adrianne Byrd has always preferred to live within the realms of her imagination where all the men are gorgeous and the women are worth whatever trouble they manage to get into. As an army brat, she traveled throughout Europe and learned to appreciate and value different cultures. Now she calls Georgia home.
Looking back, Adrianne believes her passion for writing began at the ripe old age of thirteen. It was also the age when she was introduced to romance novels by a most unlikely source: her fifteen-year old brother. The book was probably given to keep her out her brother’s hair, but it was a gift that changed her life.
In books, Adrianne found a way out of her awkward teenage years and into a world of fictional friends that would stay with her for a lifetime. It wasn’t long before her imagination took flight and she was writing her own love stories. Within a year, she completed her first book, which she vowed would never see the light of day.
Writing remained a hobby until 1994 when a co-worker approached her with an article on Romance Writers of America. Who knew there was an organization of women just like her? By 1996 she sold her first novel, Defenseless, to Kensington Publishing.
Her first release received rave reviews by Romantic Times and fans. Her other novels were consistently selected as the Magazine’s Top Pick. In 2001 Slam Jam nominated, Say You Love Me, for best romance. Her 2003 release Comfort of a Man won Romantic Times Best Multicultural Romance, Romance in Color’s Readers Choice Awards for Favorite Book, Favorite Hero, and Favorite Heroine; Shades of Romance’s Best/Arabesque Romance Book; Slam Jams Emma Award for Favorite Traditional Romance; Romance in Color’s Reviewer’s Choice Award for Author of the Year, Book of the Year and Best BET/Arabesque Book. And lastly Comfort of a Man was a 2003 Georgia Romance Writers Maggie finalist for best Contemporary. In 2004 she released her first romantic suspense novel, If You Dare, with HarperCollins. In 2006 her novel Measure of a Man was nominated for Best Multicultural Romance while her Harper Torch novel Deadly Double was nominated for an Emma. In 2007 she won an eharlequin.com Joey Award.
In 2006 Adrianne along with fellow writer Niobia Bryant penned her first Urban Novel, DESPERATE HOODWIVES, writing as De'nesha Diamond. The book is set for release February 2008 from Simon and Schuster. For more information, visit http://www.deneshadiamond.com.
Ms. Byrd has been featured in many national publications, including Today’s Black Woman, Upscale, and Heart and Soul. She has also won local awards for screenwriting. For the future, she looks forward to continue creating characters that make people smile, laugh, and fall in love.
Awesome story! Ram has wanted to marry Sofia since they were ten years old. But Sofia has been holding a grudge against Ram because of a feud between their fathers. Will Sofia finally realize that Ram is innocent and love him the way he deserves to be loved?
Ramell and Sofia go from bffs in childhood to Vegas married. You would think this story is smooth sailing. However, untold truths and misinterpreted actions fractured this friendship and nearly destroyed the marriage. The angst of this story is full of love and tenderness, forgiveness and acceptance.
Sofia is one stubborn woman. Ramell has been in love with her since he was ten. But certain circumstances caused them their friendship. A merger is what brought them back together. Wonderful read!
This is the fourth and last book in the Love In The Limelight series. Each one was written by a different author about romance in the entertainment industry. The great thing about this series is that it wasn't always about an actor or a singer, they covered varied aspects of the industry.
Lovers Premiere is about Limelight Entertainment a family business that is full service talent agency representing today's hottest stars. (The agency was featured in an earlier book, but I cant remember which one. Sorry). Sofia Wellesley has followed in the footsteps of her late father, who started the agency, but has made her job her life leaving no room for anything else. She finds out that her uncle has made plans to merge with another successful firm that was started by her father's best friend, who she loathes. Ram Jordan is the man's son who is looking forward to working closely with Sofia since he's been in love with her since they were children.
The only bad thing about this book is the airbrushed abs of the dude on the cover. They look like Krispy Kreme donuts.
I enjoyed this book. I could feel where Sofia was coming from being overworked and allowing the past to cloud your present.
Sofia is all work and no play until childhood friend Ram Jordan's firm merges with hers. She has let something that happened between their parents when they were kids destroy their friendship. She's also letting her high powered job compromise her health. But Ram us not going to let that happen. In a riotous Vegas adventure leads to some interesting times between these old friends.
If you like stories involving old friends reuniting and deep dark family secrets, then this is the story for you. I read this book in one day and loved it. It's a great finale to the love in the limelight continuity.
Wow wonderful, sad sweet and gave me goose bumps. Love the message of the book, what a guy Gabe is and Joy strong I think personally. Some books when you read you feel no emotional attachment to it and some they will always be at the back of your mind. I say get a copy read it and see what you think and feel about the book.

I'm a very picky reader and I'm especially picky about my "romance" novels. Adrianne Byrd is an excellent writer of the quick-romance genre. Her writing is simple but not too cheesy, and definitely not urban lit. She also does an excellent job at intertwining contemporary topics and issues into her novels. This is definitely the case with Lovers Premiere, a book about life in the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. I also like that she writes from the perspective of Black women, the single life of Black women and men, and manages to have characters who are well rounded, educated, and professional. I look forward to reading more from this author.
If you read the other books in this continuity you knew if Sofia would just slow down for a minute that she would realize that she was still in love with Ram, and I was curious how Adrianne Byrd would develop this storyline. And I was not disappointed – I so love the whole Vegas scene when Sofia let her hair done and actually enjoyed herself, and the conversation with her sister the next morning was just too funny. And Ram he was just a wonderful hero – a true romantic and a best friend to Sofia.
A very nice conclusion to a wonderful continuity series.
The is my first book by Adrianne Byrd and I am hooked. The book begins with Sofia and Ramell as kids, he was ten years old when he professed his love for her and the story takes off from there. She worked with her uncle at the Limelight agency and he with his father are AFI agency along the way her uncle merged Limelight with AFI to the anger of Sofia who hated Rams father due to a misunderstanding back in her childhood. In a drinking stupor one night they got married in Vegas. The story takes twist an turn happy ending. Happy Reading.
Ms. Byrd is a wonderful writer who allows her readers to be a part of the journey she creates and I tell you I enjoyed the journey of Sofia and Ram’s relationship. From the moment I started the first page, I was hooked. What a sweet, romantic and comical novel. The weekend in Vegas and the wedding was hilarious. Another home run Ms. Byrd!
This book was okay. While the storyline was a romanrtic one it contained erotica which I am not really a fan of. To me erotica and making love are two different things. Ramell Jordan is a fantastic hero. Sofia is a lovely heroine but irrational. This is a good book if you love erotica. I don't.
Could not put it down from beginning to end. Romantic and hilarious...the wedding scene was straight out of Jerry Lewis movies it was great. Just found out it is a series and contonuation of other books. Love it.
Very good read! I enjoyed this story and the fact that the couple loved one another since they were kids makes it all the sweeter. Its unfortunate that I read the last book in the series first, but I do intend to go back and read the rest of the love in the limelights!
