There wasn't much of a plot to this novella. I felt that this could have been better. The beginning started off interesting, particularly the glimpses of the world-building that the author started setting into place. But the last 2/3 of the novella was a long, drawn-out sex-fest that had me wondering how long this was going to take. I also found Hunter's reactions, responses and actions hard to believe, particularly to the existence of vampires and to Malcolm's confession. I found it difficult to relate to or even really like either of the main characters. The ending was barely satisfactory although my vague dissatisfaction had not really anything to do with the fact that it was a HFN instead of a HEA. 1.5 stars.
