Gods of Saint Pierce #1
Say My Name
From USA Today bestselling author Logan Chance comes a thrilling and sizzling romantic suspense that will have you heating up as you race to uncover the truth!
Devereaux Huxley has a problem his billions can’t fix…me.
He's the owner of Club Greed, an adult club that caters to the fantasies of the rich and powerful, Devereaux’s the prime suspect when the girls employed at his club start turning up dead.
The Greedy Girls.
Elegant, poised, and desired by all.
And now I’m going undercover to become one.
He calls me Swan.
He doesn’t know my real name, but that’s how I like it. If he knew the real Chloe, I’d be in more danger than I am now.
I might be in over my head, but I won’t let the dazzling whiskey-colored eyes and seductive charm of the mysterious owner make me fail at my first case as a detective.
I’m determined to be the best darn Greedy Girl the small town of Saint Pierce has ever seen. And not get myself murdered in the process. I’ll just need to keep my wits about me and keep the devilishly handsome and possible murderer Devereaux Huxley at bay. Which is easier said than done.
He tempts me.
He desires me.
He pushes me to try new things.
Naughty things.
Things an undercover detective shouldn’t even be imagining.
But I am imagining them…with him.
When the lines between reality and fantasy blur, it’ll make me question everything I’ve ever known.
I’ll need to keep myself out of danger long enough to uncover what’s really going on, but when secrets threaten to crush us, and I end up in his bed, the real danger begins.
*Author's Note: Can be read as a standalone. A murder mystery romantic suspense that'll have you flipping the pages like crazy. Featuring one hot sex club, a dirty-talking hero, a woman sleuth heroine, and so much steam it may set your Kindle ablaze!

This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole dang time. Such a great book! I don’t read a lot of mystery or suspense but I might have to after this one!! Devereaux and Chloe (Swan) were just amazing and the suspense had me turning the pages so quickly. This one had my heart racing for more than just the suspense though. Such passion between the main characters from practically moment one had me sweating too! So good and def need to read more from Logan Chance!

Say My Name is a salaciously satisfying and suspenseful read that will keep you guessing and holding on tight with every page turn! I enjoyed the “who done it” mystery that had me pointing a finger at everyone by the end. Devereaux and Chloe were a sinfully spicy couple and the perfect introduction into a brand new series. I look forward to seeing what new twists Logan has in store for us next.

Thrilling Romance
Her first job as a detective puts Chloe as a waitress in Club Greed to investigate its owner, Devereaux, after three of his staff die at the hands of a serial killer. Falling for her target was not part of the remit.
I really enjoyed this story. The serial killer adds tension to a great romance. Chloe, as Swan, is a terrific character, who learns about herself while undercover, and Devereaux is sizzling hot as her unsuspecting boss who is equally enamoured by his new employee.
I had a couple of suspects in mind for the killer, but there were aspects which blindsided me.
First rate.

Devereaux is left as the number one suspect when Greedy Girls from his club are found murdered. Chloe is sent undercover to find out who is behind the killings. What neither of them were expecting was the intense chemistry that flares up between them. Soon they are giving in to the passion between them. Chloe is determined to get to the bottom of the killings and further her career, but she is finding it more and more difficult to lie to the man she is falling for.
Devereaux knows Chloe is hiding something and is determined to find out what it is. While he and his team investigate who could be the killer, he comes across some damning evidence and is left blindsided and feeling betrayed. Before he can come to terms with what he’s discovered, Chloe is taken. Will Devereaux be able to find her in time? And if he does, can he forgive Chloe for her deception or will he walk away for good?

This book was better than I thought! It’s my first smut book by a male author. Done pretty well the only thing that bothered me was how he wrote the female main character there were times when I was like what? But the scenes where super hot 🥵 and the spice is there! A few lines have become my favorite… like make me jealous of that pole!! Oh my! The suspense was there as well.

I absolutely love book one in the Gods of St. Pierce series. Devereux is a billionaire who owns Club Greed. His one obsession is Swan (Chloe), and she has secrets which he will do anything to find and fix. I love Logan's books and this one was amazing and kept you entertained from page one.

Girls are being murdered. Making detective and going undercover in a sex club all in the same day. Chloe doesn't know what to expect, and she definitely wasn't expecting to be magnetically pulled to the Dark and handsome owner of Club Greed, her prime suspect.
Devereux has all he needs, his sister and his two closest friends. When his employees start getting murdered he takes it personal and thinks someone is doing it to get to him. In walks a new employee who he can't get out of his head.
Every twist and turn had me wondering who the killer was. Logan did a great job of keeping me guessing. When the killer is revealed, it was shocking to find who they were and why they did it.

WOW!! 🔥🔥 this story is smoking. “Say My Name” is Book #1 of a new series Gods of St. Pierce.
This story had me totally obsessed while reading like I kept looking over my shoulder to make sure no one was lurking around me. I felt as if I were right there at Club Greed and living with these characters experiencing everything they were.
Devereaux is one of the most complex perfect character that I’ve read in so long, and Chloe (Swan) is definitely his perfect match but…. Can these two survive all the obstacles that stand in their way?
Logan Chance has outdone himself with this book, it is PHENOMENAL the words and story line flow brilliantly, so smooth, it is packed with Mystery,Suspense, Angst, and a whole lotta of HEAT🔥 and definitely a whole lotta “Omg I didn’t see that coming” these two are like an inferno together there’s also so much fun banter it will have you so engrossed nothing else will matter around you.
I’m not giving anything away this authors blurb is spot on and I’m not going to ruin anything by saying something wrong, everyone has to experience this phenomenal story one word at a time for themselves.
This is such a perfect start for a new series and the title is absolute perfection the secondary characters are amazing I’m so excited to read the rest of the books to come.
I can’t recommend this book enough 5 stars is definitely not enough.
BRAVO TO THIS EXCEPTIONALLY WELL WRITTEN STORY!!

SAY MY NAME takes place mostly in a high end adult club owned by Devereaux. Chloe goes to work for him as one of his cocktail waitresses to try to find out who is responsible for a series of murders of girls working the VIP area of the club.
It’s a book with a lot of chemistry between our main characters that they spend a lot of time denying and fighting. Even so, Devereaux finds ways to whisper things in Chloe’s ear that reveal his interests and picque hers. He has quite the steamy imagination that we all wait (including Chloe) to see if he will put it in action.
The suspense is good, the twists plentiful. By the time we find out who is responsible for various nefarious acts, I personally end up accusing just about everyone but the twins and Chloe. I was drawn to read the book because of the idea of the serious club owner and the sassy cocktail waitress he felt compelled to protect from their first meeting.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

February 19, 2023Great start to a new series
Chloe has finally made it to detective, her first job: infiltrate the local sex club and find out who is murdering the women who work there. The prime suspect is the owner.
Devereaux can't take his eyes off of Chloe. There is something about her that intrigues him. Meanwhile, he wants to find who is killing his employees.
The serial tension and wordplay between these two will leave you hot and bothered.
The mystery is hard to solve, despite the breadcrumbs the author us leaving us.
It's quite a surprise.
I loved this story and characters. I can't wait for the next in the series

3.5 stars (rounded to 4) I enjoyed this book where newly promoted homicide detective Chloe is assigned to a murder investigation involving women who worked at a sex club. She has to go undercover and of course the owner of Club Greed (Devereaux) is a sexy, brooding man who does not date or do relationships. Will Chloe, a.k.a. "Swan" move him to change his mind?
Chloe had some TSTL moments as if she forgot all her police training. She made a couple of questionable decisions considering Devereaux is a person of interest in the investigation.

Wow!!🥵 Say my name is chock full of suspense, intrigue and spicy romance. Devereaux owns Club Greed. When the girls start showing up dead all signs point to him. Enter Chloe a newly promoted detective. Her one assignment get close to Devereaux. But will things go smoothly or will her case become more complicated?
This was my first book from Logan and let me tell you, I was hooked from the start. The tension between Devereaux and Chloe was so compelling. I was kept on the edge of my seat the entire time. I had to stop myself from biting my lip so much because I was so captivated. There’s definitely a lot of moments where I’m like “Wait What!” I don’t want to say too much because I definitely think you should go in reading and just be surprised. Trust me when I say this book checks all the boxes. Bravo Logan!!!

What I liked about the book:
🦢 I don’t typically read sex club books given I have this bad feeling it’s going to involve the act of sharing, which is not my thing at all (no yuck if that’s your yum! Do you!). However, Devereaux’s possessive nature and the way Logan wrote his character and his previous “interactions” in the club were totally good with me. Perhaps I should explore more books in the sex club arena after all…
🦢 I loved the mystery component throughout this book and how it did not end the way I thought it would. I frequently ping ponged between potential culprits, which I love since it keeps me on my toes.
🦢 I loved how strong two of the three main female characters in the book were. Chloe was a smart detective who never stood down to a man and always fought back with snark. Greer was a fierce lawyer who also didn’t believe that she needed any man to protect her (despite Roman insisting otherwise!).
🦢 Speaking of Greer and Roman, I CANNOT WAIT FOR THEIR BOOK! I read this book so I could have the background on the other characters, but let’s be real: I came to this world for the dirty talking, brother’s best friend romance coming out this year.
🦢 Even though I haven’t read it yet, I enjoyed seeing Vin and Addison from The NewlyFEDS pop up. I love a good crossover, so this was fun to see.
🦢 Last but certainly not least, my Kindle was definitely ablaze! Both the quantity and variety of intimate scenes left nothing to be desired. Logan definitely delivered! I thoroughly enjoyed their playtime, as well as their relationship as a whole.
What I wasn’t a fan of:
🦢 I’m not a huge fan of one of the tropes that came in at the very end, but that’s a me thing.
🦢 I felt like the ending was rushed and Devereaux reaching that conclusion in the case was a little bit of a stretch to me based on what he had available to him.
Thank you to Logan Chance for the opportunity to read this book. The thoughts and opinions expressed above are honest and my own.

“It means I’m into watching the woman I’m with get off. And whatever she needs to get there, I’ll gladly supply it. If she needs me to burn the world down for her to get off, then I fucking will.”
Alright, this book is a ride. From beginning to end. The type of ride it is, well that's for you to find out. To me, definitely a rollercoaster. There was some really good hill climbs and than some coasting. It definitely wasn't world record breaking heights but enjoyable nonetheless.
It's not your average romance book. It's got so much to offer. A little murder mystery. A A little accidental pregnancy ... A lot of detailed explicit scenes 🥵
Four stars because there are a few things I wish were written differently and sometimes the number of characters along with their involvement in the plot got confusing.

Trying to do a mystery suspense thing and I solved it at the beginning when they introduced the character. It was also very boring and drawn out. I think I could have skipped the whole middle. Oh well

Felt slightly long but I enjoyed it. The romance was spicy, the setting was fun and indulgent, and I didn’t solve the mystery!

I'm definitely a GREEDY GIRL for Devereaux
Devereaux and his Greedy Girl "SWAN" aka Chloe have amazing chemistry from the start. I enjoyed their connection and loved the mysterious dialog of ** Who Done It**.
The side characters and their development has me eager for book 2. Great start to what looks like a fantastic series.

Great start to a new series. When woman start turning up dead at Devereaux’s club, Chloe goes in undercover to find out who is killing these women. Both do their best to keep it strictly business however the attraction between them is undeniable. Can they discover the truth or will secrets destroy them? Great characters with plenty of twists and turns. Sizzling chemistry and an entertaining story. I loved it.

"I can play with fire and not get burned." Are you sure about that? Positive?! Or maybe, you secretly want to feel the heat, that sizzle.🙊
Chloe Bardot has just made detective. At 27, she has become the youngest in her precinct for that honor, and now she has just been given her first case. One that is currently all over the news. A series of unsolved homicides. A serial killer is lurking. She's going undercover at a high class club, Club Greed. It's a high end bar with a sex club added to it. Only the elite can participate. Women, three so far, who had worked at this establishment, have been found murdered. The cops need more information, more clues, something to point them in the right direction to the who and hopefully the why, before they strike again. Of course, Chloe is nervous. A lot is riding on her gathering intel and helping to solve this case. She seems a bit awkward to me, challenged almost, but even though she's flying in blind, she accepts. I wish Chloe had been a bit more assertive, outspoken, and yes, sassier. I mean her partner, an older man named Finn, didn't show much faith in her. That's never good.🫣 Now she needs to get hired, get close to anyone who will talk and investigate. And seeing a picture of the attractive club owner, (of course he's hot!!😝) does pique her interest in ways she wasn't expecting. Could this gorgeous man be a... killer? Let the games begin.😉
Devereaux Huxley is a very wealthy, grumpy, direct man who likes control, runs a tight ship, and appreciates a glass of bourbon with a beautiful woman. He trusts noone. Except his sister Greer and the Thorne brothers. Let me share, I'm on board with the Thorne train!! Choo Choo.😜😏🤣 Dev's 35, deals in making his patrons' naughty sexual fantasies come true; but unfortunately, the weight of what's happening at his club is taking a toll on him mentally and emotionally. He's tired. Annoyed. Angry. Did I like him, well duh, who wouldn't?😂 I mean let's be real here. I get why Chloe gets all googly-eyed over him. lol When he sees and meets her, the man is smitten. Bitten by interest, by attraction, by desire for her. It's instant. Like bam!!💥💥💥 He doesn't want to hire her because of those reasons. Well, guess what, he does. He hires her then can't stop looking at her. The man has FEVER for his Swan. The Greedy Girls get nicknames here.😁 He wants her. Even if he acts like he doesn't. It's there. Like I wrote: fever.
This is quite the romantic spin of exploration. There's a masquerade ball y'all. With masks.🎭 An indulgence in kinks and physical pleasure. We have plenty of drama, light suspense, forbidden attraction and a brewing fixation of wanting to stay away but not being able to, a multitude of characters, don't worry you won't get lost with any of them. We have steam!!! Ohhh yes honey, fiery smoke between Chloe and Dev!!🧯💨🔥🥵🔥🥵 Dev is an all or nothing type of man. He's pretty passionate. Chloe is discovering new things about herself. She wants to try things with him at the masquerade ball. You knew that was coming! She's not as vocal about her feelings though. She should have been a bit more, at least with him. Dev deserved that. Show your emotions, Chloe. There is impact play, hard spanking, just fyi. That's not my thing, but if you like that, it's here. Chloe did involve her sister Ashley in the investigation. Girrrll!!! Undercover is undercover.🤐 What are you doing?!! Shoosh!! I did figure out the who in this mystery. Now. Nooo. I can't tell you who it is. It's a secret.🤫 Will Chloe or Dev figure it out before it's too late? What will happen when Dev learns the truth about who Chloe is? What will become of them? HEA? Or heartbreak? I recommend you read this and find out. And how about the book cover. Let's show it some love. Hot!❤️❤️❤️ Happy reading!! Say My Name. Say My Name.🎶🎶

Written in first person by Logan Chance, Say My Name is the 1st book of the Gods of Saint Pierce series, and switches perspectives between Chloe and Devereaux.
Chloe Bardot was a twenty-seven year old officer at Saint Pierce police department who was promoted to detective. Her first case was to go undercover at Club Greed, a fetish club where the employed females were being murdered.
Thirty-five year old Devereaux Huxley was the owner of Club Greed, a suspect for the murders, who desperately wanted to find the real killer. He was instantly in lust with Chloe, hiring her as a server who he named "Swan."
And of course, the sexy detective and billionaire playboy fall head over heels in love with each other while they both work to uncover the killer separately. The attraction was immediate, and the possessive jealousy was relatable. They FINALLY have intercourse in chapter 29 at the 69% mark, after a long and drawn-out flirtation where they both denied themselves for different reasons; him because she had a boyfriend and he refused to fraternize with his employees, her because he was a suspect and she was undercover. We are rewarded with 5 separate encounters involving intercourse, and a lot of foreplay or non-penetrating engagements.
This book hit home on a relatable level. Being an ex nightclub owner, I easily related to Devereaux's point of view on endless pussy (or in my case, dick) being fun and exciting at first, but quickly became boring and monotonous, leaving an emptiness inside. No truer words have been written. Every bar or club owner (that I've ever known) hits a point where they're just tired of it all and want out more than anything. The mingling and relations among staff and their management was also relatable. So is crushing after the unattainable, then attaining them.
Several witty points in this book made me laugh. Like the YouTube video tutorials on smokey eye makeup turning out like a raccoon. And the quote "Ah, it’s like Mean Girls, sex-club edition." At first I thought the killer was a female, but I accurately predicted who the real killer was by chapter 19. Considering how many suspects there were, and how the author did a great job keeping us guessing, I was surprised to be correct. There was one continuity error that I'm not sure if anyone caught; Chloe is introduced to the Thorne brothers as though she never met them before in chapter 36, but she first met them in chapter 2 during her interview. That's the only error I've found in this book.
The book was the perfect length with the perfect balance of mystery and romance. Though frustrating at times because of the sexual tension, the frustration was worth it. I stumbled across this author by chance, and boy am I glad that I did. I was shocked to be so engaged by a male author. His writing was witty and talented, and it really drew me in. Moreso than some of my regular authors. I am definitely going to read Logan's other material. I heavily recommend this read, and look forward to the next book in the series.

Say My Name by Logan Chance is the first installment of a new romantic suspense series. This novel follows an undercover detective named Chloe as she tries to find the identity of a murder who has been targeting workers from a local adult club. Along the way she finds herself entangled with the sexy owner, Daveraux Huxley and from there the lines between her jobs and reality start to blur.
Overall the plot is incredibly well written. I was ultimately right about my prediction as to who the murder was, but there were several moments that had me questioning if I was correct. It kept me guessing right along with Chloe, up till the end. There were even some twists in the final act of the book I didn’t see coming, and that made it all the more interesting and kept me turning the pages.
I will say that the plot does often take a back seat to the romance and it does slow the plot down a bit. Don’t get me wrong, I love a steamy scene, but the middle of the book just got a little slow for me. I also wish that there had been a little more action from Chloe where she gets to show why she was made a detective. She sort of became a damsel in distress, and I would have liked to see her be a bit of a bada** as the story came to a close.
Despite never getting that moment where Chloe gets to show readers what she’s made of, I really enjoyed her character. She is likable from the start, and I felt like her heart and ability to connect with those around her really drove the story. Her relationship with Deveraux scorches the pages, and they are amazing as a couple.
Deveraux was also an interesting and well written character. He has so many layers, and the audience gets to unravel them along with Chloe. At times he’s gruff and demanding, but underneath it all is a heart that cares for those around him. He is exactly the leading man you want in a story like this one.
As the book came to a close I sort of wish the author had explored the aftermath of the finale a bit more from a character development perspective. There was a lot revealed in the final pages, and I felt like it jumped to the epilogue very quickly. I’m hopeful that even though future books will likely focus on other characters that we may yet see some of that development.
Overall I gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars. It is definitely worth a read, especially if you like spice. It is definitely a 5 out 5 for spice and for mature readers.

”There’s a thing about crossing lines. I’ve always believed in black and white. There was never a gray area or blurred lines. I’ve always lived my life so far away from any line that I could never get worried if I’d accidentally cross it or not.”
If you love these this book is for you!

-Workplace Romance
-Suspenseful Reads
-So Many Plot Twists!
-Reads That Keep You On The Edge Of Your Seat
There have been a string of murders but in order for them to catch the killer they have to send in an undercover detective. That’s where Chloe comes in as she’s the undercover detective in charge of gathering information no other detectives can. But that poses a challenge for Chloe as she has to get a job as a Greedy Girl. But as she does her job she can’t help but be tempted by Devereaux the number one suspect for the murders of the Greedy Girls. Will Chloe be able to solve the murders or fall for Devereaux in the process?
Devereaux Huxley is seriously on of the best characters! There is so much depth to his character that it’s amazing!
And Chloe is so sexy! She’s sharp as nails and sweet as pie when she needs to be! Plus there’s all the sass she gives that is amazing!
This book is a definite MUST READ! There are so many plot twists that are so good and will keep you on the edge of your chair! This whole book will keep you hooked trying to figure out the killer before the book ends! And let me tell you I was not expecting the killer to be who it was!
Highly Recommend Reading!

This was my first time reading a Logan Chance novel, and it won't be my last. Say My Name was the first book in the Gods of Saint Pierce and I cannot wait for more to come.
Chloe is working her first case as detective to solve a string of murders. All of the victims were females who worked at an exclusive club owned by Devereaux. She goes undercover and comes face to face with the owner and the hottest man she has ever seen. Devereaux doesn't want to hire Chloe but he also wants to see her again. He has too much on his mind and having Chloe aka Swan distracting him from finding the murder killing his girls is the last thing he needs.
Both MCs are trying to keep away from each other for very different reasons but they keep getting pulled towards each other, like magnets. This was the perfect balance of romance and mystery. As the MMC has us falling for him, there's also a case that needs to be solved. There's a long list of suspects and twists in each chapter.
I was so invested in the story a finished it in a few hours. The writing was smooth and had two POVs from the main characters. I absolutely loved the side characters and was invested in their own stories developing the more I read.
There is an accidental pregnancy but it wasn't done in a distasteful way. It almost felt like it was only mentioned to up the stakes for the final scene and the epilogue.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves fake identity, undercover investigation, morally gray characters, boss/employee relationships, murder/mysteries, found family, forced proximity, and romance.

Chloe is a police officer who is blonde and drop-dead gorgeous. She just made Detective and her first undercover assignment is to investigate Devereaux Huxley the owner of Club Greed. Devereaux's, Greedy Girls, are being murdered one by one. Chloe gets hired to work at Club Greed. Dev gives Chloe, the name Swan since no one goes by their real name.
Chloe isn't getting the information she needs, quickly enough so her partner suggests she gets close to Dev. Which isn't a problem, since Dev is attracted to Chloe.
I love the character development of both Chloe and Dev. Logan did an awesome job with Dev's background and did not leave his readers with questions.
This is a slow-burn romance, with lots of heat, with some great one-liners, and "who done it". "Who is killing the Greedy Girls?", will keep you guessing until the end.
Here are some of my favorite quotes:
"Before long, I see the club’s spotlights shooting up into the heavens above to tease God about all the lewd acts happening inside its walls."
"I’m left gasping for air when he slowly reaches into my cleavage, letting his fingers brush against the swell of my breast, to remove a cherry. He pops it into his mouth. “Mmm,” he hums."
“Would your boyfriend watch while I touched you?”
"He’s an assignment, not a lover. And he never will be."
"He steps closer, and I feel the heat of him, but he doesn’t make a move."
“. . . And then he picks me up and carries me up the spiral staircase, down the hall, and into his master bedroom suite."
I can't wait for Book 2 - Close Your Eyes, no rush Logan!

Slow burn steam with pulse racing suspense
Say My Name (Gods of Saint Pierce Book 1) by Logan Chance is a detailed romantic thriller! Not only does the reader get an introduction to Club Greed, but also a glimpse of what characters are to come in this series. But for Book 1, Deveraux and Chloe take center stage and boy do they shine! Deveraux is all grumpy and alpha with a visceral reaction to Chloe. Chloe is equally drawn to Deveraux while these two dance around each other trying to deny and delay the inevitable.
Aside from the natural attraction between the characters, there is also they mystery behind the murders of the Greedy Girls. As much as Dev and Chloe seem to be on opposing sides, they both want the same thing; justice. Where they do differ is the form of justice. Plagued by guilt, Dev is beyond determined to find the killer. Chloe is just as determined in completing her assignment to prove herself as a detective as much as saving future victims. She is one smart and savvy cookie not to be underestimated.
This book has a lot going on; against the rules boss-employee, forbidden undercover cop-suspect, serious slow burn turns spontaneous combustion, sensual exploration that increases the steam factor significantly, secrets, whodunit thrills, little nuggets of clues and ultimate satisfaction just to name a few things this book brings to the reader.
Overall, the mystery weighs heavily on both Deveraux and Chloe which makes the slow burn of their attraction the perfect way for this couple to develop. These opposites have obstacles but nothing is impossible when it comes to love and forever, not even a murderer!

Middle of the road…
Didn’t like it. Didn’t hate it. But I definitely want to continue the series.
📔 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼: Say My Name, book one in the Godsnof Saint Pierce character series by Logan Chance.
📚𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲: Romantic suspense, forbidden romance, billionaire.
📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Chloe goes undercover at a sex club while investigating a string of murders. The second she meets the owner, billionaire Devereaux Huxley, she knows she’s in over her head.
🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: Romantic suspense combines my two favorite types of fiction. So I want to start by saying this book wasn’t a hardship to read. The pages flew by. I didn’t guess the killer - which I do all of the time. And it had some solid spice to carry it through.
But it also has a ton of plot holes and missing details. It also was a little disjointed, almost like too many things were shoved into the same story - billionaire romance, a sensual awakening, AND a vengeful serial killer might have been too much to tackle. This is the kind of stuff a good editor can tackle.
But I really liked where the plot was going with the other men who (I’m guessing) will be part of the series, so I wouldn’t be opposed to reading a second book in this series.
𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 3/5 ⭐⭐⭐
𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 3.5/5 🌶🌶🌶
𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱: Super good romantic suspense is hard to find, but I really loved Be Still My Heart by Emily McIntire and Sav R. Miller.

I legitimately read this slower because I didn’t want it to end. The dynamic between Chloe and Devereaux was just…ahhhhh!! I absolutely adored it.
Chloe has nearly the entire book to hide her true identity from Devereaux. Her first investigation assignment is on his club, and the murders that continue to happen. The last thing that she expects is to feel anything for the man she’s meant to be investigating! Her constant battle within herself is astounding to read. You want her to be completely and fully the real her, but also realize she can’t be if she wants to protect not only all the other girls in the club, but also Devereaux.
Devereaux is the consummate professional that keeps work separate from his desire for women. He made his own rule to never fall for a girl that works for him, but there is a constant draw to Chloe. She’s different, and he wants to know and understand why. The problem is that while Chloe’s doing her job as an unknown investigator, Devereaux is conducting his own investigation. He knows the men in the town aren’t all good…so who’s murdering the girls that work for him?
I honestly kept feeling like I figured it all out at different points in the story, but then would be shocked by other little details that would be pointed out -so I love that the mystery behind it all was so well done and kept me on the edge of my seat!
