Surprise niece. Estranged brothers. And now? The one who got away.
Between dodging the avalanche of my crumbling business and learning how to change a two-year-old’s diaper, my life has taken unexpected turns. But I’m nothing if not a resourceful billionaire. Of course I hire a nanny—and only the best. But there’s one small problem.
The best nanny tasked with helping my non-verbal niece come out of her shell is none other than Mercedes Hendricks. My ex. My first great love. The woman who told me to never contact her again six years ago.
I’d send her away if she wasn’t so damn good at what she does. But as she wins over Willow’s heart, it has the unfortunate side effect of winning over me.
I thought I was strong. I thought I was done with her. I thought I could ignore our steamy memories and her sweet smiles and all the little things that tell me our ending six years ago might have been a mistake…
Wrong. I’m a pushover when it comes to this woman, and it doesn’t even matter that she’s engaged to somebody else.
I plan to make her mine – the way she should have been six years ago. But as I work on setting up the next chapter of my life in Louisville, my infamy gets the best of me. There are dangerous people in Louisville who want me gone, which forces me to choose between the happiness I thought could be mine, and the safety my niece so desperately needs.
Billionaires. Bad boys. Bleeding hearts. These outsiders are known as the Bad Boys of Wall Street and every book in the series features glittering Manhattan skyscrapers, swoon-worthy heroes, and a guaranteed HEA.
The Price of Infamy is a second-chance, nanny, billionaire romance, book #4 in the Bad Boys of Wall Street series. This can be read as a stand-alone, but the series is best read in order, since the drama is chronological and cumulative throughout the books.
The Price of Infamy is the 4th book in the Bad Boys of Wallstreet series and the third brother’s book. At the end of the third book, we know that Trace was called back to Louisville to take custody of a child. We find out that the child is actually his two year old niece, Willow. Trace is needing a nanny for Willow, so he teaches out to an agency. The nanny that seems to be most qualified for Willow’s needs happens to be the love of Trace’s life, that just so happened to disappear six years earlier.
Mercedes is a young, Louisville socialite with an absolutely horrible family. Mercedes feels as though her life is not her own and she is only a pawn in her family’s social standing. She works as a nanny so that she can have somewhat of independence from her social status.
Mercedes is surprised that Trace is willing to hire her on. Willow warms up to her right away and starts to come out of her shell little by little.
There is quite a bit of strife amongst both families, as well as in the families individually. Trace and his brothers are at a crossroads and still facing uncertainty with the SEC investigation of their company.
Trace and Mercedes rekindle their love for one another and are able to understand what had happened six years ago when their relationship suddenly ended. Their second chance at love and happiness is tested, but they are able to overcome the odds.
A surprise twist comes at the very end, so be sure NOT to miss the epilogue! You won’t be disappointed!!
Holy smokes....Ember Leigh does it again. I hated putting this book down but it was necessary because you know....life!!! It captivated me from page 1, and did not disappoint. I went through all the emotions in this one. Anger, disgust, frustration, more anger, smiling, happy and then the twist at the end....oh em gee!!! Now I have to wait 5 days for the final book....ugh! Super impressed with this series. Definitely a must read.
This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Ember Leigh!
The Price of Infamy is the third book in The Bad Boys of Wall Street series and tells the story of Mercedes and Trace.
I’m so happy that I got to read in The Bad Boys of Wall Street world again. I really love reading about these three brothers, and their romance and family drama. The Price of Infamy was an amazing read, just like the other books in the series. I really enjoyed the different tropes, the drama and, of course, the happy ending. I was going through a reading slump, and this book really helped me. I truly felt like reading again, and this book put a smile on my face!
The Price of Infamy is about Mercedes and Trace. Mercedes and Trace have a past, so this book is a second chance Romance, one of my favourite tropes. I really liked both characters, and reading in both perspectives. It was clear from the beginning that they’re both still into each other, and it was so much fun reading about them fighting their feelings and finally getting back together! I also really loved Willow! I’m kinda sad that we didn’t really get into her trauma, and what really happened.
The Price of Infamy was yet another amazing Romance story by Ember Leigh, and I didn’t expect anything else. I really enjoyed reading the other books in The Bad Boys of Wall Street series, so if you’re looking for a good Romance series about billionaires, then I highly recommend this one! I’m looking forward to reading the final book in The Bad Boys of Wall Street series, The Price of Forever!
It feels so good to be back in this series! I love the suspense, the surprises, the drama and the love that Ember Leigh does so well with the writing. There isn’t a question in my head that Trace and Mercedes are my favorite couple, because their story was such an amazing read. If I wasn’t reading this book, all I could think about is when I could read it next.
Mercedes family background and story was heartbreaking and she deserved better from the very beginning. She is such a bright and happy person and her family constantly trying to make her dull was so sad to read. Trace was perfect for Mercedes because he knew how to give her what she wanted and treated her exactly how she wanted and deserved to be treated.
I love the inherited kid trope and Willow was adorable. All of her storylines had me laughing or crying because she was a toddler who went through trauma and yet handled it with the resilience only a kid can show.
This book seriously pulled me in! The characters are super compelling, and the storyline kept me hooked from start to finish. Ember Leigh nailed the mix of suspense and drama > I couldn’t put it down.
That said, a few things were a bit disappointing. I wish some parts of the story had been explored a bit more, and by the end, I was definitely left with questions. And that cliffhanger… OMGGG!!! I totally wasn’t prepared for it, and now I need the next book ASAP to see where things go (no worries, another couple/love story)
Overall, I really enjoyed The Price of Infamy, and I’m all in for the rest of the series. Ember, bring on the next one already!!! ❤️🔥
The Fairchild’s are back! This time we get to learn more about Trace! Trace takes custody of the baby for the brother that his other brothers didn’t know about until the last book and broke them apart. He goes back to Kentucky and needs to find a nanny. Imagine his surprise when in walks his ex-girlfriend Mercedes. The chemistry between them is there right from the beginning. Too bad she has a boyfriend. Can they work together? Ember Leigh has done it again! You won’t go wrong reading this book!
Man have I missed the Fairchild brothers! This one picks up right where Damian’s book left off, with Trace learning he has to go down south to take care of family business! Trace and Mercedes are a second chance story of love and support! And that epilogue!!! 😳😍
What a great read, just want to keep reading about these brothers. Trace and Mercedes had been lovers before they meet up again. This has been a very good read and given the history of these two. Just loved Willow. I received a free copy of this book for a voluntary and honest review.
The Fairchild Brothers are officially my favorite... just sayin... all 3 have their swager and their goofy side which i absolutely love!
Trace is the one I was anxious to read about as he was the third of the Brothers that outsiders were more willing to go to... Cora went to him for advise and he had a good relationship with Jessa as well... he just had that air about him.
Little did we know he had someone in his life for a short time and it ended abruptly... until his half brother shows up and messes everything up and ends up in jail. Then comes the call about his niece! Lots all at once!
Little did he know, this little cutie Willow would be the one to bring Mercedes back into his life and cause a big ol' ruckus as they find their way back to each other. I've never cried while reading a book like I did reading this one!
I got all kinds of feelings with Tace and Mercedes' relationship. I realized that this book picks up from the end of the previous book.so I would recommend that you read that/those first. The Price of Infamy is written well Nd I would like to read more of the authors books.
Working through the series via audiobook on YT. Still not my genre, but I felt committed enough to get through the last brother’s story.
It was fine. Nothing particularly funny, exciting, surprising, etc. At the very end, they unexpectedly find their missing sister working in a coffee shop, which segways into the final story. You know you’re getting that happy ending.
I think if this was a genre I was actually into, I’d like it a lot more. I just don’t get excited about the billionaire guy unless he’s also a prince, a magical creature, or a vampire. Or unless said billionaire is up to tricky things. An evil genius or something. Billionaire romances are just kind of eh for me. And that’s a me thing and should not be a reflection of the books themselves as they’re meant for a certain reader.
I’m honestly not sure I feel inclined to see it through the last book and will probably just stop here unless my YT options are limited. I like listening to things that don’t require a lot of attention while I’m working my 10 hour shift.
Solid 3 stars because it managed to make me listen all the way through and I wasn’t mad at it.
This was book 4 of the Bad Boys Of Wall Street Series. Second Chance,Small Town, Enemies To Lovers, Boss/Nanny and Close Proximity Trope.
This is my 1st book by Ember Leigh and now I need to go back and read rest of the series. I went on roller-coaster of emotions with Mercedes and Trace. Mercedes and Trace fell in love instantly 6 years ago. Both were ready for to get married but then events happen causing them to break apart. So 6 years later Trace is back in Louisville and suddenly he has a child to take care of. He needs a nanny to help. The best nanny they have is Mercedes. When they meet they both hate each other because of what happened. But for Willow's sake they needed to put their differences aside. Willow is 2 years old with trauma and is selective muted. I loved seeing Willow slowly grow out of her mute state and start enjoying herself. Mercedes is engaged so she is off limits. Despite their hatred their chemistry and love hasn't waned at all. Eventually Mercedes finds her back bone and stands up to her evil controlling family. They were so stuck up in their high society ways. I actually felt sorry for her. I loved reading how their relationship developed again. The angst was killing me. But their life is in danger, people want Trace out of here. They also discover things from their past that's shocking. Can their love stand against her horrid family? The small town that's trying to hurt him? Also he has other problems that could cause them to separate. I loved the banter with his brothers and their beautiful partners. The way they accepted and loved Mercedes without any reservations. Oh the spice was just right. Specially when they were off limits and all I'm going to say is there is chocolate play 🥵. This was an exhilarating read, full of drama, secrets, betrayal, bullying, heartache, loss, found family, love and steam.
Ember Leigh has done it again! I inhaled "The Price of Infamy" like it was the air I needed to breathe. Mercedes and Trace's story gave me ALL the feels, and I could not put it down once I started reading.
There's something about a ruthless businessman who melts for the child in his care that always gets to me. I adored how devoted Trace was to his niece Willow from the moment he met her. He was willing to do whatever it took to ensure that she got the best care, even if that meant facing a painful part of his past by hiring Mercedes as her nanny. They'd dated six years ago, and Trace was on the verge of proposing before the relationship abruptly ended. Despite their years apart and Mercedes's impending marriage to another man, the chemistry between them was still very much alive. It was only a matter of time before it exploded; the question was how they'd handle it when it did.
As in the previous books of this series, the plot twists kept me on the edge of my seat, and I couldn't wait to find out what would happen next. The unexpected ending was particularly incredible, and I'm very much looking forward to the resolution in the next book. Also, one of the things I most loved about the first book of the series was the close relationship between Trace and his brothers Axel and Damian, so to see the way it deteriorated in the second book was really heartbreaking. They continued to face challenges in this book, but I was very happy with where they ended up. Hopefully their relationship continues to improve because they will need to lean on each other to get through what's coming next!
Overall, "The Price of Infamy" is another 5+ star read from Ember Leigh, and I can't recommend it highly enough for all fans of angsty/emotional contemporary romance. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series.

Second chance romance Billionaire Single dad/uncle Nanny
Trace and Mercedes is a stand alone romance, however there is an ongoing storyline from previous books. It is best to read the prior books for this reason. I will not deduct points because I didn’t read the prior stories. I still enjoyed the dynamics between Trace and Mercedes. Trace unexpectedly has custody of his niece, Willow. His instant love and care for her of swoon worthy. He is protective and puts her first. However, he needs a nanny to help with the day to day stuff so that he can work. The best nanny available is his ex, Mercedes. Six years ago they fell in love but their relationship abruptly ended. Now they have a chance to rekindle their romance. Outside influences continue to battle their relationship. A entertaining story with good characters and plenty of twists. We get some sweet and emotional glimpses with baby Willow. A peek into the next book is enough to tantalize a reading.
With the cliffhanger and the brother tension of book two, I was ready to read more of Trace and his brother's story.
I loved Trace and his struggle to be the “dad” role for Willow. With everything going on in Trace’s life he is making Willow a priority by finding her a nanny. Trace didn’t expect the nanny for Willow to be his ex-love and the one who got away, Mercedes.
Mercedes and Trace’s story was amazing but hard for how much Trace was going through. They had to overcome the history of lies that they both believed for why they ended 6 years ago. But with nannying Willow, Mercedes can’t keep her love for Trace buried. Trace is finding it harder to keep her at arm's length.
When they finally give it to their love, they prove a strong love like theirs can withstand the distance and make it work. Will the same be true for the Fairchild brothers in this book? Will they put the drift behind them and focus on being brothers again?
Mercedes and Trace got a second chance to continue their journey to HEA. With a little bundle of joy to bring them together, I enjoyed their ups and downs. On one side, family tried to pull them apart, and on the other, family supported their decisions. Their chemistry was strong, and their acceptance of their misunderstanding made them wonderful characters.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
Trace Fairchild is suddenly custodian to a 3year old niece, Willow? He is still trying to mend his relationship with Axel. Mercedes is the one that got away from Trace and ends up being nanny to little Willow. The Fairchilds are still not welcomed in their hometown, Kentucky. Things get worse, and the SEC investigation is still looming over their heads? Trail? Jail time? Will things finally work out? There is a surprise in the end!
This is a second chance romance that I found was a little slow. The FMC is doormat and is controlled by her family. It’s hard to believe that the FMC is sweet with a heart of gold when she is raised by a poisonous family. It’s a stretch because who gave her an example of goodness. The third act break up was so ridiculous. Trust and security in the relationship for sure was burned to the ground. There is no way she could go back to the MMC.
A very long winded story that meandered along. Liked the brothers and Trace who took in his stepbrothers child. His character was east and likeable. Mercedes I absolutely disliked and the author spent a lot of time showing her up as indecisive, family pleaser although why as they were atrocious individuals. Her only saving grace was her care of the child. Still no resolution to the legal challenges. Was a so so read.
Trace takes custody of his niece and needs a nanny. The agency sends Mercedes and both are shocked to see each other after their relationship ended several years ago. She immediately makes progress with his niece so he hires her. They begin to develop feelings again, can they get it right the second time around?
This book was amazing. Trace and Mercedes’ story tugged at your heartstrings. Her family is the typical rich family that everyone hates. Trace is trying to find his way after scandal rocks his life. After six years apart they find their way back together. Of course there are twists and turns. You quickly fall in love with these characters. I can’t wait to read the other books in this series.
This is the fourth book in the Bad Boys of Wall Street series. It’s a very entertaining story. Trace, unknowingly, hires his ex, Mercedes, for his niece’s nanny. Sounds like a sticky situation! As it turns out, they are able to rekindle their relationship. The characters are likable and well developed. It’s a great second-chance romance.
I really enjoyed The Price Of Infamy It is book four in the Bad boys of Wall Street and can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading them in order . The characters are really interesting and bring a lot to the story I can't wait to read what's to come .
Mercedes and starve are given a second chance in this story after circumstances have kept them apart. With suspense, drama, and an emotional rollercoaster, this read will keep you glued to the pages as you root for our couple and want to know what happens as the story is unraveled.
I mean..... it's a nice story, but I think the repeat of the family hating the brothers kind of bored me a bit. The chocolate bar scene was something new though. I think I gave it an extra star for that reason alone. Lol

Second chance stories of love and loss are so rewarding.
The only thing about this story is that the cliff hanger is disappointing. I always feel bad when that happens. The story is gripping at several points but the ending is empty.
This is the 4th book in and it’s gotten better about weaving the brothers and other characters into the story. Finally feeling like you are getting to know them better. Now, on to book 5!
