I do not speak Spanish, so am completely unfamiliar with Jorge Ramos' work as journalist for Univision. Nonetheless I found the book interesting. He wrote it during George Bush's era. It would be nice to see his thoughts vis-a-vis trump.

In Atravesando Fronteras, Jorge Ramos explains his life in Mexico, his reasons for transplanting to the U.S., snippets of his personal life, and how he worked to become the best-known Spanish-language news anchor. The book itself is written in easy-to-understand Spanish and interweaves his beliefs and his lived experiences. While I was reading, I folded over some pages that I would like to use in the different Spanish classes I teach. Some examples of especially powerful text include his thoughts about money, luck and destiny, his arrival in the United States, his interviews with different U.S. presidents, his accent as an English language learner and its effect on his career, and his experiences as a journalist in different Latin American countries. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and learning about the work, sacrifices, dreams, and life of Jorge Ramos. At times I felt like I was listening to a friend share his life story with me, and I look forward to reading more of what he writes.

A thoughtful memoir from one of the most listened to voices in today's media. Ramos speaks honestly about the tug on the heartstrings he experiences leaving his native Mexico in search of professional freedom and missing those he loves at home, all the while building with the newly launched Univision the voice for the Latino community in the United States on the airwaves. In doing so Ramos has become the conscience for the U.S. on the stagnant immigration policy debate in Congress that has left millions of undocumented people in the shadows and their children in a state of constant fear of deportation.

This was a really good biography. It gave a lot of details on Jorge Ramos' life and why he chose to be a journalist. He is an inspiration to the Hispanic community, and he has personally taught me to become a better leader.

I love biographies. He is very simple in the language he uses to graphically present his life and accomplishments. I admire him and all he has had the courage to present in this book.
