I did not like that Amy was basically using everyone she could to get what she wanted but glad she made the right decision in the end and decided not to hurt someone who hadn't done anything wrong.

Civil War Concord, Mass. 10 year old Amy wants art lessons more than anything, but she knows that her family could never afford it. She tries to befriend rich Jenny Snow in the hopes that Jenny will share her art lessons with her. When that doesn't work, Amy befriends new girl Diana. Diana is kind and generous, but has no interest in private lessons. When Jenny suggests that she would share her lessons if Amy reveals the reason Diana won't have company over, Amy is faced with a choice. Should she betray her new friends trust?

I think readers of the American Girl books would like this story.

Amy Makes a Friend by Susan Beth Pfeffer

This is also a very great book. In the book Amy wants to be an artist. She has all the talents to be an artist, but she needs to be able to afford it. To afford the cost she tries to make friends with a rich girl in her class. She is hopping that her rich friend may be able to pay for her classes.

I love this book and would recommend this book to anyone who would like a series of books about sisters and their life.
