This helpful and frank guide fills baby boomers in on how to live the next 20 summers to their fullest potential. Useful advice is provided on planning for the future, maximizing financial potential while still working, recognizing when to retire, and reorganizing finances properly to sustain a new, work-free lifestyle. A light and straightforward style makes understanding the presented ideas simple, while numerous charts and graphs help to illustrate the key principles.
A good read for those wanting to change their mid-life stars. Gives strong advice on what the options are and how to best utilise them through the various stages of life. It is a bit repetitive in parts, but this allows for some speed-reading. Also it does not really go into detail about the situations of those who have not chosen the path of having a family and kids and who don't have the benefit of an inheritance, although it does touch on it. Overall a worthwhile read for those wanting to rearrange their finances as their life progresses.
Very easy enjoyable read. The author wrote it when he was 50 and contemplated how to work less, live more and make the most of your money if you had twenty or so good summers left. Or more if you were healthy.
As someone in my forties it def gave me food for thought and some practical number based frameworks to plan for it. I liked this book👍🏼
Haves speaks clearly about the fact that we are going to die and that we probably we want to spend our final years doing what we like (and often it not working 😀). My few take-aways that I will also try to apply: planning is key (better to be prepared), investment diversification is very important trying to be aggressive as much as possible when young, there are different types of retirement (and it could a positive thing).
