4 - "I'm... different." Stars!
Another stellar addition to the Miami Scorcher Series, although normally the author writes her series so that each book can be read as a standalone, I would recommend that you read Worth the Risk before tackling Power Unleashed as these two books are very much interconnected in relation to characters and the storyline that they are involved in.
We met Paz Cabrera in the previous book in the series, and her sister was the main focus of the story. Whereas her sisters instalment focused on her connection with one of the Lazos brothers and their mutual interest in an underworld criminal, but for completely different reasons. Paz’s story is slightly different, having now been rescued by the pack after being presumed dead, the council has sent their enforcer Adam Tucker to ensure that everything occurring in Florida is not bringing the werewolf/shifter population and the Lazos pack in particular into the public eye.

Savannah Stuart manages to get the sexy and emotional connection between her characters shooting sparks really quickly in her books and Power Unleashed is no exception. I love the whole Mates theme that is running through these books, it kind of takes the ‘insta’ and makes it acceptable because of it.
I have read the middle three books of the series now, I hope to have time to get to the start and the finish very soon. This author never disappoints, and the books I have read in this series have been wholly solid in their plotting and absolutely entertaining in their reading.

I'm apparently reading this series backwards, and this one made me want to go back and read the first two.
Paz was adjusted pretty good after having been held captive for a year. Then she meets sexy, enforcer Adam. Yep, he had a case of insta-lust and you are my mate. She didn't immediately jump on the mate bandwagon, but made him work for it. Great story with a bad guy to catch and take care of, although the bad guy seemed like an after thought not a real part of the story. Now, I want to know more about Ethan.

I have read this series out-of-order. I can attest that each book has worked well as a standalone read. That said, there are interconnected characters and a continuing thread that would be better appreciated if the books are read in order. For instance, this book introduces Ethan Connell to the Miami pack; His and Caro Angel's story will be told in DESIRE UNLEASHED, the 5th book. Regardless, I've enjoyed the continuing stories of all of the pack's characters.
Even though this is just a novella, there's lots of depth and spice to the story with well-orchestrated suspense, danger and excitement. I highly recommend this story, indeed, this whole series, to anyone who enjoys paranormal romantic suspense.

Power Unleashed is the 3rd book in the Miami Scorcher Series by Savannah Stuart (Katie Reus). I would recommend that you read Worth The Risk prior to this book as the characters and storyline are connected and it would be much harder to understand/enjoy this book without having read the previous book.
This book continues where Worth The Risk left off with Paz and her sister having found a home in the Lazos Pack. Paz who was rescued after being presumed dead is setteling in to her new pack. Her sister is mated to one of the Lazos brothers and the pack has offered her protection. Paz needs their protection because she isn't 100% shifter and an arcaic law exists that any shifter/fae mix be put to death.
This story begins with a visit from Adam, the Enforcer for the shifters. He has been sent to ensure that the Lazos Pack is not hiding anything and to help with the rogue shifter and the human who was turned into a shifter in the previous book.
I liked both Paz and Adam. They had a strong connection and were both very strong individuals who never really felt like they completely fit in. Paz because of her genetic makeup and Adam because as the enforcer most shifters are afraid of him. This book does contain a lot of sex and the almost instant love. I don't usually like instant love but it worked in this book and between these characters. Not that the instant attraction/feelings they felt made it smooth sailing. Both Adam and Paz had a few issues to get through and trust that needed to be earned before they could share their secrets.
The romance was sexy but with quite a bit of tenderness as well. The resolution came quickly at the end and the storyline was more about the relationship then the hunt for the bad guy.
This is a quick, entertaining read with some mildly erotic love scenes. When I'm looking for a quick, fun shifter book I know I can pick up a Savannah Stuart book and I won't be disappointed.

Power Unleashed is the third book in the Miami Scorcher paranormal novella series. The main characters are Paz, Marisol’s sister from the previous book and Adam, an enforcer with the counsel for werewolves.
First off, I have a question. Why does Paz’ wolf take on the appearance of a Cocker Spaniel dog when she shifts? I don’t recall in any of the other paranormal books I’ve read (and I’ve read a lot) where “wolf” shifters look like dogs when they shift. Same goes for any other kind of shifter for that matter. Aren't they supposed to look like the kind of animal shifter they are? Makes no sense whatsoever.
I liked both Adam and Paz. Adam was really old and had been alone for a very long time. Meeting Paz gave him hope and made him realize how desperately he wanted someone in his life. Thoughts: Overall, this was a good installment to the series. Paz is an interesting character with a lot of secrets which adds a whole new challenge to this romance. I enjoyed the book because, come on, it's Savannah Stuart/Katie Reus....and I love the verbal back and forth between characters. Really enjoyed this book, but it isn't one of my favorites.

Book three gives us something a little bit more. Yes we have the werewolf, instant love/mate thing. However, both Paz and Adam are more than meets the eye. I loved the struggles and the sacrifices. I am thoroughly enjoying this series.

REVIEW: 3.75 stars--POWER UNLEASHED is the third novella in Savannah Stuart’s (aka Katie Reus) adult, contemporary Miami Scorcher paranormal romance series focusing on the Lazos Wolf pack of Miami, Florida. This is Council Enforcer Adam Tucker, and werewolf Paz Cabrera’s storyline. POWER UNLEASHED can be read as a stand alone but I would suggest reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion as each installment builds upon the previous storylines.
Told from dual third person perspectives POWER UNLEASHED focuses on the hunt for a rogue werewolf Preston Morales who all but destroyed Paz and Marisol Cabrera’s original Pack. Paz Cabrera was held a prisoner, tortured and experimented upon for one year, and with her escape comes information about the man responsible for trying to create a superior race of super soldiers using supernatural DNA and the human population. This is the third book of novella length in the Miami Scorcher series that can be read as a stand-alone though we first meet the heroine in the previous book, Worth the Risk.
Paz Cabrera survived a year in captivity with humans experimenting on wolf shifters like herself. Now reunited with her sister she’s under the protection of the Lazos pack in Miami. They’ve welcomed her since her sister is mated to one of the Lazos brothers but her presence is a danger to them. Few within the pack know the secret that she bears, she is unlike most shifters with powers that are forbidden and if known would warrant her death according to archaic shifter law. With the imminent arrival of the Council’s Enforcer who will be interviewing her she wonders just how long the pack’s protection can last. She’s stunned when she meets the Enforcer for she’s drawn to him in a way that she hasn’t ever been to any man, human or shifter. That he’s her mate complicates things for if he finds out the truth he’ll be honor bound to kill her yet she finds that she cannot stay away from him for long.
Adam Tucker is possibly the oldest wolf shifter in existence though you can’t tell from his appearance, he looks younger than his five hundred years. As Enforcer to the Council he metes out justice and was sent to hunt down the rogue wolf that escaped the Lazos pack when they rescued Paz and another female shifter. He also searches for the human hybrid created as a result of the experiments. He’s without a pack or a mate, a loner through the centuries, feared by most of his kind due to his work. Meeting his mate was unexpected yet not unwelcome and he’s not letting her go, that she wants nothing to do with him hurts him deeply and is something he’ll have to deal with. He senses that his mate is keeping something from him which he attributes to the trauma of confinement that she endured. Paz isn’t the only one with a secret, his could enable their happiness or destroy it.
These two shifters are the perfect mates, their true origins unknown to each other though different are very similar but can Paz trust the man whom fate has deemed her mate? Can she count on what others have told her that her mate would never hurt her no matter what the laws say? I liked these two shifters and how they navigated their issues, the mistakes that were made were unavoidable before and after their truths were known but correctable for nothing means more to a shifter than their mate. Both were interesting strong minded characters with sassy attitudes and protective streaks. The romance was sexy yet tender. This couple is my favorite of the series at this moment. With their combined strengths they are serious assets to the Lazos pack. The ongoing suspenseful background storyline continues from the previous books with more threads being resolved and new things unfolding.

She wasn't supposed to even be born let alone allowed to run free but a loving family had protected her at least until she was captured by a psycho. A man who held magic in his hands and distorted it for his own gain. She's free now but living amongst a new pack and carefully guarding her secret. Adam Tucker is an enforcer for the Council. He has been sent to track the rogue werewolf, Preston Morales. He has targeted Marisol, the wife of Stephan Lazos. He wants her. Paz Cabreara , her sister, is staying with them. The pack is protecting her. She just escaped after a year of captivity. She's part werewolf and part faerie. She used her magic to escape. Now Adam is here to investigate. He mustn't learn her secret. It would mean her death. She has to fight their powerful attraction. Why are they destined to be mates? Paz is a feisty woman. She has endured so much pain and suffering. She is struggling with a powerful desire for a man who could destroy her. Adam is a lonely Alpha. His job as an enforcer means people fear him. He wants a mate and a family. He knows that Paz is destined to be his. Why does she keep withdrawing from him? I loved the interaction between these two. They are perfect for each other, but the prejudices of the past stand between them. I wanted these two to be together. I just wasn't sure if they could let go of their pain. Miami provides a beautiful setting. It's exotic and deadly. Savannah Stuart/Katie Reus wrote a story filled with danger and intrigue. Power Unleashed is an action packed romance that drew me easily in. It's a strong addition to the Miami Scorcher Series. I can't wait for the next book.

Awkward...
Well I'm confused. Apparently a wolf shifter can take the shape of a small Cocker Spaniel?! The Lazos brothers look like "big dogs" instead of wolves?! Yet they are called werewolves? Lost on me...
Marisol's big sister Paz is trying to acclimate to being free and living among the Lazos pack while hiding a secret from the The Counsel. Paz has had a rough year and is socially awkward with most everyone accept her sister and Thomas Lazos.
Enforcer Adam Tucker is in Miami on Council business to interview Paz Cabara and Shea Hart since their escape from Antonio Perez's mad house. While Shea is in no hurry to talk to Adam, Paz is absolutely dreading it because the secret she's harboring could send her straight to The Council for a death sentence. The remaining victim of Perez's madness, Ethan Connell, will find his way to the Lazos pack as well for help and shelter.
Meanwhile, Preston Morales is sending Marisol "gifts" in his pursuit to win her over from Stephan. Needless to say Preston gets his comeuppance and all will be well with Marisol and Stephan. Adam and Paz have a rocky road ahead as they discover their connection as mates and what shocking secret Adam is harboring.

His has been sent by the Council to investigate the two she-wolves saved from the lab and track down a rogue werewolf. Adam knows how to do his job and he does it very well. He is always prepared. Always. Except this trip to Miami he not prepared. Because he never prepared for her.
Paz has survived being kidnapped and locked away in a lab for over a year. She is safe now. As long as no one finds out her secret. A secret that if the Council’s enforcer find out about could lead to her death. Paz’s only chance is to lie and hope that the enforcer never finds out.
I really enjoyed Adam and Paz’s story. Both Adam and Paz have a lot of secrets in their past which makes them perfect for each other. They will also learn what the meaning of trust and love are. I am looking forward to the next installment in this series.

Power Unleashed, book 3 in the Miami Scorcher series, has been revised, edited and re-released, and it’s just as good as, if not better than, the first edition!
We first meet Paz Cabrera in book 2, where she was being held captive. Having survived that year in captivity, Paz is now free and trying to readjust to being reunited with her sister, and being welcomed into the Lazos pack, all while keeping a secret that if discovered could cause harm to everyone around her.
Adam Tucker, werewolf Council enforcer, has come to the Lazo pack to investigate the kidnapping & captivity of Paz and another female, in addition to finding a rogue werewolf, is thrown for a loop when he meets Paz and realizes she’s his mate. A mate who fights hard to deny their connection and hide her secret from him.
No matter what it takes Adam is determined to win Paz over to mate and bond with, and discover the secret she’s desperately trying to keep from him. Paz and Adam’s chemistry burn up the pages. I couldn’t read fast enough!
Recommended read and series!

I know this story is the third one in Savannah Stuart's Miami Scorcher Series, but for me, its the first book in this series that I read and I was really pleased with it. The plot not only interested me enough to want to read and review it, but had me eagerly doing so. Adam and Paz were not only great characters, but a wonderful couple. It had an edginess that was hard to ignore and passion so HOT that I half expected my kindle to catch on fire. Power Unleashed is dangerously sexy, with some fantastic action scenes, and steamy sex! Its the kind of romance I crave on a daily basis.
It is beautifully written! Readers will LOVE these characters, the theme, and the storyline. Since this story was not only enjoyable, but honestly, irresistible, I will be going back and getting the first two books in this series so I am all caught up! I definitely don't want to miss anything more.

Power Unleashed is the third book in the Miami Scorcher series and this series is very aptly titled. The sex is hot, the characters are great and plot tantalizing in this quick read. As a reader, I really enjoyed how Paz and Adam both have fragile secretive sides to them. The secondary characters were well placed and a welcome addition to the story line. I have not read the previous two books in the Miami Scorcher series so I felt a little lost in the beginning but just enough back-story I was quickly able to fall into place. If I were to have one complaint about this book, it would be I wish it had been a little longer. Excellent read to pass the afternoon with.

This was a great read - and it makes me want to go back and re-read the previous two books! If you like werewolves, intrigue and suspense, and romance, then this is the book for you. A brief synopsis - Paz was rescued after being held captive for about a year. She's been staying with the pack her sister mated into, the Lazos. She has a big secret though, one that could possibly get her and the pack into big trouble with the Council. And of course, fate being fate, who does she inevitably encounter, causing sparks to fly? Adam Tucker, the Council enforcer. In the meantime, there's still the rogue werewolf who was involved with Paz's abduction and who is obsessed with her sister, running around Miami...let's just say that things get a little crazy! I really enjoyed this book and finished it in a day!

Paz has secrets that she doesn't plan on sharing with anyone outside of the Lazo pack. So when the council's enforcer Adam comes to town she knows that he is the last person in the world that can find out about her.
Adam feels a connection the minute he meets Paz. He knows that this feisty she wolf is his mate and will stop at nothing to find out her secrets. With a past full of prejudice towards other species he soon finds himself biting his tongue and finding out that sometimes you have to let the past go to move on with your future.
I can't wait to meet more of this crazy pack of shifters. Hopefully the next book will be about Thomas and his faerie love.

As always with Ms. Stuart's books, they keep you coming back for more. Hot wolves, sexy fairies, and smoking sex.

Adam is an Enforcer and is there to investigate the killing of the people who kidnapped Paz and the wolf who keeps killing in the name of Paz's sister. As soon as he meets her he knows there is something different about her and is drawn to her.
Together they work to find Morales, the wolf responsible for her kidnapping and the new feelings they are both experiencing. Adam is a five hundred year old wolf and Paz is a hundred year old virgin. Both are used to being alone but he will do anything to keep her safe.

Great Story Adam was a wolf shifter. He worked as an enforcer for the council. He had no pack, no real friends, no real home. He had a reputation for being surly. Two wolves had been experimented on. Adam was to question them and learn whatever he could.
Adam was attracted to one of them, a girl named Paz. She was half Fae, which meant she would be turned over to the council, if not killed first, if found out.
This was a great story, even though a little short. It had everything it needed. It had a great plot and characters. The twists and turns and everything came together. I highly recommend.

Wow........and I thought Marisol was feisty...... it figures these two are related. Paz had every right to be after the year she’s had...... and so now here comes the Enforcer and after centuries of being alone, Adam finally finds a challenge........and oh boy does he! These two together are explosive! I loved it! Exceptional read.

Amazing read with great story development and likable characters with werewolves, fairies and other supernatural beings. A great blend of erotic paranormal romance and suspense that is sure to keep the pages turning. :)
