Treading in the Past: Sandals of the Anasazi

Rate this book
From approximately the first to the fourteenth centuries AD the people now referred to as the Anasazi inhabited parts of Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. Their rock art and architectural ruins are well known, but the arid climate of the region also preserved artefacts such as loomed clothes, baskets, and sandals. This book presents a colour-illustrated catalogue of over 300 examples of Anasazi sandals in the Utah Museum of Natural History, together with a brief introduction to the archaeology of the region and materials and weaving techniques.
