C.J. discovered his obsession with making up crap and writing it down at the age of 6, when he wrote his first short story, back in the days when the Cold War was still on and the only mobile devices were the wrist watch and the walkie-talkie. He's been making up crap and writing it down for fun and profit ever since.

"Contractors" also known as mercenaries (mercs for short), soldiers of fortune, and a dozen other names. The characters can have a wide range of personalities, some with honor, or codes, or limitations, and others who will kill anybody to get the job done. The only common thread is that whatever they're into, they're going to get paid.
General rules on how to run a campaign and DM for a group of players in a mercenary company setting along with different ideas using everything from street-samurai, dragons and armed with everything from swords to cyborg exo-suits with advanced lazer-weaponry.

Big fan of the "budget" combat armor for the discering mercenary thats basically a deathtrap.

Even though the Palladium role-playing system is not the one I use in my games the source books are fantastic. Tons of great ideas and characters are scattered throughout the books. Very recommended for any gamer.

I flipped through this book while doing research on scifi mercenaries. WOW. This is a fantastic resource. A quick summary of the mercenary business, several example merc companies, vivid non-player characters, cool equipment, and a fun scenario at the end.

It's interesting to realize that this book was published over 20 years ago. It holds up well and is a good source book for Rifts. The new character classes, mercenary groups and equipment to add to a Rifts game should keep a gaming group entertained for quite a while.
