The Witches Tarot

Rate this book
The Ultimate Tarot Set for Witches Everywhere If you are new to Paganism or the Tarot, this is the set for you! The art is amazing, brilliant and intense. It follows the form of a traditional Tarot and is able to blend the Qabalistic Tree of Life with Pagan symbolism. The High Priestess stands proudly in the Goddess pose and wears a garter showing that she is indeed a high priestess of many covens. The Devil loses its evil reputation and returns to his original form as he becomes "The Honed One," showing a couple staring in awe at the powerful and loving God crowned in the horns of a stag. The Minor Arcana is also fully illustrated, featuring strong characters in rural settings, evoking a feeling of Pagan spirituality. Included in the box is a special layout sheet for doing the Four Seasons spread. This sheet isn't available anywhere else. It's beautiful and helps to make readings easy. The box also includes a full-sized, 320-page book. It's the first book that explains the Tarot from both a Qabalistic and Wiccan point of view. Every card is thoroughly explained as is the way to read the cards using the layout sheet. It covers the symbolism of the cards, correspondences of the cards with letters, astrology, colors scents, gems, and Qabalistic paths, gives examples of how to use the cards when doing pathworkings, and sample readings and spreads. No mater what type of Witchcraft, Wicca, or magick you practice, this is the set to have to have.

This is my main deck. With vivid artwork steeped in both Wiccan and Qabalistic symbolism, I've read on this deck for everyone from High School kids hoping for sweethearts to serious fellow occultists & witches. The symbolism is so richly layered & clearly depicted that the cards read on whatever level of life the Querent is living. I've had terrifically accurate results with this deck ever since I started reading on it sometime in the 90's.

I got my first set of these cards when I was 18 (I'm almost 38 now). They were lost in a very horrible time in my life back in 2006. I purchased my next set (came with a free set and I gave that away to a friend of mine) a few years ago. The book that comes with this set is an added bonus! FIVE STARS!!!!!!

My first working deck. I must have went through two or three of them before I decided to move on to another deck. Nice dark brilliant colors. Even thought this deck really isn't made for divining (it's actually made for pathworking), I enjoyed using it until the time came to pass it on.

Skipped over the portion of the book concerning the paths. I was annoyed that the author didn't put in an illustration of the Tree, even though I have previously studied Kabbalah... I found it irritating to have to reference other books for something the author should have provided. Also, it seems as though most of the author's studies have just been through her own reading, not through working with an actual Kabbalah practitioner. I also found this irritating & her words less credible because of this. I am also not a fan of the deck she & the illustrator created. Too cheesy looking for me.

For all that I've always had amazing results with her deck, I'm underwhelmed by Reed's book in support of it.
