This book is a great overview of techniques for collecting and using found papers, fabrics, and other materials in textile art. She goes over many methods of surface manipulation such as dying, printing, making transfers, etc.

I enjoyed reading this book although it is more about mixed media than stitching. ( Previously read Soulful Stitch) Excellent description on how to play with materials and develop ideas from found objects.

This book is packed with "how-to" techniques and they are presented quite simply, but I find the majority of them to be extremely difficult to execute. I had to look up many of the terms she used and I needed extra help in really understanding what she was talking about, so I ended up searching for online videos to help me, which was a little frustrating. There is a kind of poetry in the simple explanations and beautiful photographs. There's also a nice section at the end called "Commissions & Collaborations" where you can see some of the powerful, bigger pieces she has created, both herself and with various communities.
