After reading Keith Baker's book "Lunenburg" and enjoying it so much, I requested two more of his books from our local library. I have read for the past several hours because I just couldn't put the book down...from the very first line to the last one, is a story of intrigue, mystery, murder, love, politics and medical info I didn't know e.g. Engram means memory traces.
I so enjoy the way Baker introduces his characters....in one paragraph, we know the name, the vocation and sometimes the family relationship of this character. And there are many, many characters in his books. I learned from the earlier book to use a sheet of paper as my bookmarker so I could jot down each name and a bit of info about each new character....sometimes the person mentioned in the beginning chapters doesn't appear again until the last chapters so my memory needs a bit of refreshing and it is right at my fingertips so to speak.
I rate the book a perfect 5 because of the manner of writing, the mystery that evolves and not solved until the end, the development of the characters and the fact that it held my attention for hours on end.
