From the author of The Believer's Authority: Legacy Edition and How You Can Be Led by the Spirit of God: Legacy Edition comes the third release in this life-changing series: The Name of Jesus: Legacy Edition.
Rev. Kenneth Erwin Hagin, known as the “father of the modern faith movement,” served in Christian ministry for nearly 70 years.
In 1968, Rev. Hagin published the first issues of The Word of Faith magazine, which now has a monthly circulation of more than 300,000. The publishing outreach he founded, Faith Library Publications, has circulated worldwide more than 65 million copies of books by Rev. Hagin, Rev. Kenneth W. Hagin, and several other authors. Faith Library Publications also has produced more than 9 million audio teaching CDs.
What a great book! It should be on every Christian's bookshelf, and reread yearly as a reminder to ourself of what God's word says about our authority as Christians in the spiritual realm, of what our rights are in the spirit, of what Jesus himself invested in that name. I wish Kenneth Hagin were alive today to interview-- I would love to talk to this man, but sadly He passed away in 2003 after 70+ years in the ministry. Thankfully, some of his work is left here for us to read and learn from. This is a reread for me, and I read it about a year and half ago, and had just as much impact on me the second time around. It is tremendously edifying and encouraging to read Mr. Hagin's teaching, and he speaks through the words of the book in layman's terms to where everyone can understand what he is saying. I plan on rereading this again in about a year. : )
I found this book to be very thought-provoking and I loved the perspective that was offered to us readers. It has helped me to look at and understand Scripture through a different lens and challenged me to ACTIVELY apply it to my life. My first thought upon reading the title of this book was - Yes! I remember the song by Tasha Cobbs Leonard "Break Every Chain" so I assumed, as the song states, that this book will enlighten me about the fact that "there is power, in the name of Jesus" (a well-sung line in the song). That it did! There were many highlights that I made while reading this book because they increased my understanding that our enlightenment to God's word would only come through our hearts, and not our "natural" minds because it is only through the depths of our spirit, in our hearts, could we be enlightened. It also helped me to know that you cannot just call out in prayer, petition, or danger the name of Jesus without knowing the power that the name holds. If you do not have an understanding of the power of that name IN YOUR HEARTS it would not work for you. It is not enough to have a mental understanding of the name of Jesus, we must have a deep spiritual understanding of it as well. This would only come through knowledge, wisdom, and application of the Scriptures. I believe that this is a great book for someone with an open mind that wants to redesign their understanding of who Jesus is, the depth of what He did for us, and the gift He left us. I love that Scripture references were made throughout the book and that it was written in an inclusive manner. It was neither judgmental nor damning. It had just the right tone for anyone reading to understand the message being conveyed and its importance. For anyone wanting a deeper understanding of "Jesus" and a closer relationship to God the Father and Creator, this a good read.
The book is full of truth about the Power and authority vested in the Name of Jesus. It follows along closely with a similar book by E.W. Kenyon called "The Wonderful Name of Jesus," which Hagin quotes from often. The entire spectrum of God's Kingdom that is available for His children is activated by the Name of Jesus. And the most powerful way to activate the Kingdom on earth is to speak that name over every situation we face in life. That will crush sickness and disease, cast out demons, bring healing to finances, relationships, and emotional problems, and, quite simply, bring heaven crashing down into earth around you. The lost and hurting people that fill the earth are simply one step away from total victory. It's so simple, yet the devil has deceived the world that it needs to turn to his evil kingdom for solutions. So the world trudges along, sick, diseased, in bondage, addicted, fighting wars, abusing each other, jealous, depressed, and in total turmoil. Yet the answer is in the Name of Jesus Christ and the authority and Power vested in that name.
I learned a lot and didn’t know the importance of the name of Jesus, to the degree i now know. Don't get me wrong i know Jesus name was and is important and powerful and will alsways be. But when there is a book solely dedicated to that and teach precepts upon precepts then you'll understand what i mean. I guess im now responsible for the knowledge i received.
I truly enjoyed reading this book. I truly recommended that you read this well written book. Knowing that I have no we have such a loving Father in Heaven God and Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior is so wonderful
Quite amazing. As usual with Kenneth Hagin, he lets the Bible speak. A great, great topic, and even having read this book, I'm sure I haven't even begun to grasp the full meaning of the authority that's ours as Christians in Jesus' name. A keeper, and to be re-read ...
A must read. I have read it over and over again. Kenneth does a wonderful job of describing the authority we have over the devil as Christians, and outlines what that really means. I learn something new every time I read it!
This book is a classic and one that is a must read for all who are followers of Jesus. The name of Jesus is the most precious and powerful name there is!
The message of Kenneth E. Hagin in this book is not totally wrong, it's not that, but in general, I think his focus is. This is mostly a book about using the name - the literal name - of Jesus, for healing and getting rid of demons. It all is spiced with anecdotes from his life and ministry, giving it all a very preachy rather than academic of a professional feel. I hope that people will get more of the book than I, but it was not all bad - the message, or the good parts, have a good impact and have a focus on the source of our power as Christians.
