It had seemed to be so simple - return to Devil's View, find the paper that Simon considered essential, and return to marry Simon.
But Jana's first encounter with Clint Dubois, the present owner, had been disastrous. Now she had to gain admittance to his home under false pretenses.
Although Clint Dubois made it clear that he didn't trust her, Jana found herself attracted to him. Then she was in a real quandary: still tied to her commitment, but not wanting to fulfill it!
I liked the way RC evoked a romantic connection between the house-Devil's view-and the personality of its owner-the hero. The heroine's dillema is easier to sympathize with as she begins to fall in real love with Clint Dubois. However both the leads continally test and assess each other to figure where they stand and eventually end up spending a lot of time together and this is where I as the reader really enjoyed this book because i feel that the writer showed how their romance developed very nicely. Though it wasn't perfect, I couldn't put the book down and enjoyed it immensely.
Jana's come to Devil's View to find a piece of paper that is very important to her. She needs to find it before she marries Simon. Her idea was to ask the new owner for the permission to search. Unfortunately, her unusual meeting with Clint has put that idea to rest.
