Cracking The Code: Guide To Building Codes & Zoning For Tiny Houses

Rate this book
Building codes and zoning laws are complex when it comes to tiny houses. Understanding the basics of codes and zoning will set you up for success when it comes to making your own tiny house legal. This guide helps you gain a general understanding of how codes and zoning work, so you can work with your local codes.

It's important to note that this book doesn't give state by state or county level guidance, because there are over 3,000 municipalities in the US that are constantly changing. I wrote this book for general knowledge so you can find and understand the codes local to you. I lay out common principals, terminology and general process of codes and zoning, so you can understand the local nuances to your city or town, have productive conversations with code enforcement and inspectors, and come up with creative solutions to hopefully find a pathway to legality for your tiny home.

This book give advice on how to approach tiny homes from a legal approach and alternatively offers ideas if you want to fly under the radar. Utltimely you must do your own research, make your own decision and assume all responsibilieties, but this book makes that process much easier to understand.
