Emma's done with being a psychic. She lifted the curse that hung for decades over her hidden Seattle neighborhood. Now she just wants to find a job and fix her leaky pipes. But a call for help from the county jail makes plumbing the least of her worries.
Her quest to free an innocent man leads to a labyrinth of secrets. Her neighbors (and her mother) want them hidden. Meanwhile, a soulless corporation weaves a web of fraud to seize and sell Undertown.
To save the day, she’ll need the help of her BFF barista, a professor of applied folklore, and a cat with literary ambitions. (Not to mention a pile of pastries and loads of lattes.) But with handcuffs tightening around her wrists, can she even save herself?
The answer lies in the once-palatial, long-abandoned Undertown Theater, where a shadowy figure carves a summoning circle into the stage and chants an ancient tongue…
Emma can see ghosts and communicate with demons. Paranormal activity is an amazing experience in this story. Her quest to free an innocent man leads to a labyrinth of secrets. Her neighbors (and her mother) want them hidden. Meanwhile, a soulless corporation weaves a web of fraud to seize and sell Undertown. I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
This is a pretty good addition to the series. It's not every day that you have a murder during a performance of Shakespeare with a demon ending up being involved but not in the way that you would expect.
Dash wants Emma to help him pass over. The Ghost Hunter's club makes another appearance and Emma finds out where her ability to see the dead comes from. There may be a stalker after Emma.
It's neat the way the things in this book tie in to things in previous volumes and the characters are rather unusual which is good. I intend to keep reading books in this series.
What a kick trying to figure out who is guilty of what and how to prove it. Emma certainly has her hands full trying to renovate her new home in time for Thanksgiving with her mom. Emma is still working on Dash's history to free him. Got to get started on the next book in the series.
An interesting cast of characters witness a murder. It appears clear who did it. But when the suspect calls Emma from jail asking her to help him, she reluctantly jumps in. Of-course there is more than just this one plotline. A side of supernatural mischief adds a fun distraction. I loved the book. On to book 3.
I couldn't put this book down. The characters are quirky and loveable. The plot has many twists and turns. I recommend this book to everyone! Although it is part of a series it also stands alone just fine ,if you don't want to get into a series.
Totally enjoyed it! This is a well written and has well developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
DRAMA DEMON flounders a bit after the first book. The pacing is slow, and I felt Emma regressed in maturity in this book. However, the ending was solid, and I’ll likely continue the series.
