What does it mean to be a girl who follows God? That's the question bestselling author and teen mentor Hayley DiMarco helped teens answer in the bestseller God Girl . And now in this 365-day devotional, she guides girls ages 14-18 on a daily journey of learning more about who God is and who he created them to be.
Each one-page devo contains a scripture verse of the day along with a brief reflection that unpacks spiritual truths about becoming a woman of God. And in each entry Hayley challenges girls to choose God's way in every area of their life--with their thoughts, actions, and daily choices about everything from friends and fashion to faith.
Hayley DiMarco is the best-selling author of over 30 books, including God Girl, Mean Girls, and Die Young. She and her husband, Michael, run Hungry Planet, a company focused on producing books that combine hard-hitting biblical truth with cutting-edge design in Nashville, Tennessee.
An excellent devotional for any girl seeking to grow closer to God. Hayley DiMarco expertly dives into Scripture and tackles some of its most difficult passages, presenting them in a provoking and beautiful prose. I was uplifted, challenged, encouraged, enriched, and fulfilled reading this devotional, and I hope I've become wiser too. <3
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." ~Matthew 7:7-8
This devotional book for teen girls has 365 excellent daily reminders of how to grow into the woman the Lord wants you to be. The days are numbered and not dated, which makes this a perfect book to give any time of the year. You can begin reading this today, on the first of the year or whenever you want to start it.
Each devotion starts with a verse and then goes into a one page explanation of how that verse can help you become a better Christian. Although the author has written this for teens girls all woman can learn from these thought-provoking devotions.
This book is worth buying for any teen girl. I found the devotions to be easy to read and filled with great spiritual teachings. The examples were relevant and the advice exceptional.

Are you a teenager 'God Girl' looking for devotions to stir your spirit? Are you the parent of a 'God Girl' thinking of a gift that will keep on giving? If so, Devotions for the God Girl by Hayley DiMarco is a perfect fit.
Hayley DiMarco, founder of Hungry Planet, speaks the language of the teenage girl and not will easy spiritual insights but with strong Scriptural truth. This devotional is packed with messages for teenage girls that direct, support, and encourage them to become the woman they were meant to be.
These devotions are numbered but not dated making it easy to jump in at any point in this devotional and start from that point forward or take the more conventional route and begin at the beginning. A quick topical reference is included in the back just in case you want to read more on a topic but it isn't the next in the book.
Another feature is that all of these 365 devotions are short and to-the-point messages easily read in a 15 minute quiet time. Many of the devotions are question oriented. I find that very appealing because the questions challenged me. A few of my favorites were...
* Number 62 - What is your legacy going to be? * Number 198 - What do you do well that can help a hurting world? * Number 341 - Do you believe that everyone should adore you?
This is a hard cover devotional uniquely designed with a teenager in mind. I imagine that mother's and daughters would enjoy reading these devotions daily together. Or, perhaps they could be used in a weekly youth group meeting.
Researching Hayley DiMarco and her other books, I found insight into her heart to encourage and disciple young girls. The devotions also reveal her strong desire to give absolute truth to teenage God Girls without watered down messages.
A wonderful selection for yourself or for another as a gift, I recommend it highly.

Title: DEVOTIONS FOR THE GOD GIRL Author: Hayley DiMarco Publisher: Revell October 2010 ISBN: 978-0-8007-1950-0 Genre: Inspirational/devotions
DEVOTIONS FOR THE GOD GIRL is a really excellent devotional to help you become the woman God intended for you to be.
There are 365 devotionals in this beautifully bound hardcover book, one for each day of the year. Each devotional begins with a verse, then the author finds a key point (which is printed in bold) and then ties the verse in. It ends with another thought (in bold) and an application to tie into your life. The devotions are about a page long.
These devotions are deep, and spiritually impacting if you spend time thinking and praying about them, and will help turn you into a God girl.
The only things I don’t like about this book, is that the devotions aren’t dated. They start out with 1, 2, 3…etc, but then they continue on 33, 34, 35, and so on, so you really have to know what day of the 365 days of the year you are on to know which devotional to read. Also, I think a ribbon bookmark would make a great addition. I was using a paper one to keep my place and it easily became dislodged.
I used this book in family devotions (even with my sons), in addition to reading through them on my own, and then asked for everyone’s opinion. Everyone gave it high marks, as one of the best devotionals we’ve had the privilege of reviewing.
If you are looking for a new devotional then DEVOTIONS FOR THE GOD-GIRL is definitely a book you’ll want to consider. Highly recommended. Verses for quick relief are referenced at the back of the book. $15.99 hardcover. 360 pages.
Wow, every devotion is so powerful, meaningful and really makes you think about things you hadn't thought about before. I felt like each time I read one, it related to exactly with what I was going through or feeling. God works in mysterious & marvellous ways. :D
This book is a 365-Day Journey but it is broken by actual numbers instead of calendar dates. I fall behind on calendar dates then it feels wrong to be reading January 12 on March 3 so I quit. I liked how this book was broken into days so I could read at my own pace. Likes: DiMarco challenges readers to elevate God's Word over their own feelings. She relates that suffering is a normal part of the Christian life and something that draws us closer to God. She never encourages a prosperity or health and wealth type gospel. Her writing seems to be perfect for teen girls and something I wish I had read as a young girl. Dislikes: There is only one short passage of scripture per page. I would recommend this as a supplement to anyone reading their Bible, not as a stand-alone devotional guide. Perhaps in an attempt to make it appealing to teens, DiMarco uses words like gonna and gotta which annoys me on the grounds that it isn't my preferred writing style. Both of these dislikes far outweigh the value of the book and I would highly recommend it as a supplement or introduction to reading for teen girls.
Some of the devotions were a little hard to understand so I think they could have written this book more clearly but other than that it was a beautiful devotional.
Theres a page in here that denounces depression and that was kinda gross to me. Overall its an okay book and i read it whenver im feeling down but that page made me feel 10 times worst. A lot of pages shame you for having human emotions. Hayleys style of writing is kinda condescending at times.
