Corbin, the male wolf shifter lead, has spent his life running from his psychopathic criminal father who runs a pack. Reagan, the female wolf shifter/witch lead, has been targeted by Corbin’s half-brother at his father’s command for a forced mating. Corbin is shocked to find she’s his mate and determined not to continue his genetics but Reagan is certain he’s nothing like his father. Now she just needs to convince him whilst they stay ahead of his father’s men…
This story is dual POV, well written, and a fun, steamy action romance. I enjoyed Reagan’s determination and persistence, as well as her skills as a witch. I enjoyed Corbin’s changing perspective and his focus on making sure Reagan was as safe as possible and making his father pay. I enjoyed their banter and playfulness, as well as the serious character development. I enjoyed the integration of secondary characters and the HEA for the lead couple whilst the overarching plot continues.

I really liked this story.
Corbin didn’t want to mate anyone ever because he was afraid of expressing his father’s evil character traits. The minute Reagan realized Corbin was her fated mate, she was not about to let him go. Besides being fated mates, they also shared the misfortune of being targeted by Corbin’s father. He wanted them both brought to him for reasons they could only speculate.
There were two conflicts to be solved in this story. First Reagan had to figure out a way to convince Corbin that he had a beautiful soul and was nothing like his evil father. Then they both needed to figure out how to make his father leave them alone.
I really enjoyed the roller-coaster-ride of an adventure Corbin and Reagan experienced while trying to resolve their two big dilemmas. I was also delighted to see Melody’s pod make a cameo appearance towards the end of the story. Their HEA was sweet. Looking forward to the third story in this series.

Book 2 of the Dark Moon Rising series is full of humor, adventure, some danger and lots of sexual chemistry. Ellie Pond’s writing is engaging and her characters are both appealing and spirited.
I loved Reagan’s determination to not let Corbin reject her as his fated mate. She chased him without coming across as a weak or desperate female. While his initial rejection stung, she was feisty enough to stick up for herself and to keep him on his toes.
Corbin vowed as a very young boy to never be mates to prevent passing on his father’s poisonous bloodline. His father is a cruel and psychotic alpha who tortured his mother and beat his sister and him until his mom ran away with them.
This storyline brings in characters from previous books, but it is definitely able to be read as a standalone. I’ve only read the prior book in this series, but I am definitely interested in reading other books by the author.

back near his original pack lands to help out a friend who helped protect his mom and sister when they were all younger.
Somewhat tricked into attending a local pack run Corbin meets his mate but he must protect her and the only way to do that is to not mate her. Too bad for Corbin he hasn't had the opportunity to get acquainted with Reagan's stubborn side. He's about to find out having a witch/wolf shifter with Alpha blood who has a mind of her own is one heck of an adventure.
I loved the character chemistry, the push and pull was playful and fun.
I would have liked a little more insight into Allen and Ross during the story.
I loved getting to see a few of Melody's mates. Overall I really enjoyed the story and can't wait to see where we continue to journey with Burke next.

I love a good paranormal romance with a bit of intrigue. This one definitely intrigued me. The only thing I didn’t care for was that it kind of left me questioning things.. ie Ross (he's a very strange character that I don't think I'll ever understand) and Corbin's bio dad. But then again that just gives me an excuse to read the next book. I loved watching Corbin and Reagan find their way. It was that push and pull. To mate, to not mate. His wolf definitely wanted to mate. Corbin never had it easy and because of that I loved how Reagan never gave up on him. Reagan was amazing. She was head strong and determined. She was a bad *** wolf witch. Great book, good story. All I can say is I want to float!!

Corbin Smith was one hot shifter who kept himself to himself and had no intention of ever mating.
Reagan had been through some bad times and was happy to live back with her mother in her pack until she set eyes on Corbin. Straight away she knew he was her mate and Corbin recognised her as his mate but he rejected her due to his past and who his father was.
There was no way Reagan was going to accept his rejection and when his half brother tried to take her again, he stepped in to protect her.
A fast paced steamy shifter read trying to outrun and escape his father’s enforcers which keeps you glued to the pages. Well worth a read.

This book is so action and adventure packed with plenty of steam too. Corbin's father is evil. He rules his pack with an iron fist. Corbin escaped when he was young. Now he near his old pack and he found his fated mate. He rejects her not wanting to mate her if he's anything like his father. Reagan is all for mating Corbin. She will not let him run from her. He has tried but she's right there before he gets to far. With corbin's father after her and now Corbin, they are on the run to stay out of his evil hands and plans. I enjoyed this book. I was caught up in all that was going on and can't wait to read more from this series.

I love books that are built on the same world, but are standalone. They're usually packed full of a lot of goodness and some refresh on some characters that you may have read previously. However, if you haven't read the previous book, you're not going to be lacking.
Running into your fated mate is supposed to be a good thing. However, our mc in this book has been on the run for a very long time and cannot afford to endanger his mate. However, she is not going to make it easy on him. Find out why he's running and find out how long it takes him to complete the bond or if he even does. And find out what draws them together.

Wolf shifter Corbin had been taken away from his alpha father along with his sister and hidden but as an adult he moved back close to the area to work with bear shifter Jack whose family had sheltered his. Mind Changer
Ellie Pond’s second book in her Dark Moon Rising series grabbed my attention right from the start. Corbin and Reagan, the two main characters, are fated mates but Corbin doesn’t want to be mated for fear of his father’s abusive bloodline. This book has plenty of exciting adventure, mystery, suspense, steamy situations that are so riveting I couldn’t put it down until the very last page. I’ve read all of Ellie’s books and have loved every one of them and can’t wait for the next one! Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!

Corbin made a decision that he would NOT take a mate and pass on his father’s bad genes. But Reagan isn’t taking no for an answer. Lots of action and adventure as he tries to save her and protect her and not fall for her. Works as a standalone. Liked the characters and the storyline. Corbin is absolute in his decision, sort of.

Corbin needs to believe that he is a better person than his father, whilst Reagan needs to believe that she is just as good as a full blodded wolf.
Reagan wants to mate with Corbin, she just has to find ways to be persuasive.
This is a great book with humor, action, hot and romantic scenes. Ellie has a great writing style, that captivates and keeps you reading until the very last page. This book doesn’t disappoint and is another great addition to the series.

Enjoyable story that's the second in this series. This standalone is about Corbin and Reagan. The feisty Reagan who decided to take what she wants even after being rejected by Corbin was a likable character and Corbin who vowed never to mate for fear of becoming his abusive father was a character you could root for as Reagan makes him change his decision. There's action and romance in an engaging storyline I enjoyed reading. I volunteer to read and review this copy I received via the author.

Corbin and Reagan's story is filled with emotion, drama. intensity, twists, action and steam. This book read very easily, and it held my attention well. I definitely could feel for these two and it wasn't long until I was fiercely rooting for them. All and all, a very good book. I am posting an unsolicited, frank review.

Ellie Pond brings in the struggles of "everybody" while spinning a telling tale of polar opposites when it comes to the mating bond and she does it with flare. In Protect the theme beneath the "fated mate" hi jinx is very much about trusting yourself and believing you are good enough, which harkens back to the age old debate of nuture vs. nature. The nature of the theme felt a bit heavier to me than in past books, but still captured the fun and lightheartedness.
The dual point of view permits more intimate insight into the characters and shows how everyone can have a different opinion about the same topic or event.
While a continuation of the series, it can stand on its own, though reading some of the previous books would be recommended for deeper context.

This is the second book in the series this has lust, humor, mystery and supernatural. There is wolves and vampires. Corbin and Reagan are the focus. Corbin is the leader of the pack. I do recommend giving this a read. I enjoyed the two books so far and can not wait to see what else happens in the series.
