The Tower: Legends of the Land of the Seven Hills

Since her tenth birthday, she had competed in running events and always won by a long way. Her had father trained her, almost relentlessly, to prepare her for her future journey to Eltorré.
“One day…” he'd said.
She sighed. She had feared this moment for so long. Never expecting it would happen so quickly, though.
One day had become today.
She wasn't ready, not by a long shot.
Her situation was so desperate, the burden so heavy, it almost choked her. She was going to die, and the town would be lost.
‘Except if a miracle happens.’ A voice of hope spoke from deep within.
Miracles did still happen to some people, didn’t they?

My daughter absolutely devoured The Tower. At 11 years old, she reads novels the way some kids eat cookies, and this book captured her imagination and emotions from beginning to end. She was completely absorbed.

The story is gripping without being overwhelming, and it doesn’t include unnecessary or inappropriate content that young readers simply don’t need in this day and age. It felt sensible, age-appropriate, and refreshingly current, while still being exciting and thought-provoking.

Liesl Reid is a fantastic writer who clearly understands her audience. We were genuinely impressed, and we’re very keen to see a wider range of inspirational books from her in the future. This is a wonderful read for young readers who love to be swept up in a great story. 📚✨
