The story begins as more of a drama. Madison turns eighteen and finds out who her real father is. She has known all her life that her father was different to that of her siblings and now she knows who he is, and wants to meet him. Robert agrees to meet her, and for a few years they meet up and get to know one another. Then Robert decides to tell his wife and sons about Madison.
Yet again, this is another author of whose books I seem to have a few of sitting in my shelves, but I havnt actually read any yet. Although this was a quick read it didn't feel like it was at all - it was very easy to read, and the author didn't scrimp on any of the descriptions, or the storyline. I found it pretty predictable but that didn't stop me from enjoying it at all, and would definitely recommend. Can't wait to read one of the authors full length books now.
I enjoyed this. Some parts felt a bit rushed and timeframes were skipped to make the narrative fit but it is only a short story of less than 2 hours reading time however it is very well written. I would loved a longer version with a bit more detail.
Madison wil haar papa ontmoeten….
A nice taster of the author's writing which will make me look out for more books by her in future. Well-crafted story, albeit with a rather predictable ending, but an enjoyable read all the same.
Summer. Italy (think vineyards and a villa). Family drama. Romance. A 115 page book published under the The Reading Agency’s Quick Reads range. A nice taster of this author’s work and I’m now interested to read more from this author.
A quick read which was needed today. A nice easy story but quite a predictable ending. Lovely descriptions of Italy throughout. May look into more by this author.
The best thing about this book is that it’s short and I read it in one sitting. HOWEVER, that’s it. The first half of the book was intriguing, a young woman finds out she is the result of an affair a rich famous man had with her mother and decides to reach out when she turns 18. They meet and feel a sense of connection they weren’t expecting, I’ll agree that’s lovely. It then takes a weird turn when she starts falling in love with her half-brother, with both of them having a naked swim where they admit they fancy each other and want to kiss. They repeatedly say they share blood and are half-siblings yet STILL want to kiss??? It’s saved slightly by the fact that they aren’t related and her mother lied to her but I still can’t stand the fact that they didn’t care much about that while they were confessing their love for each other.
The fact that the book ends with them getting together like it’s a classic romance is so strange, would not recommend this book but it counts towards my 2025 reading list so who cares.

I have never read a book by this author before even though I have seen many good reviews & recommendations. I thoroughly enjoyed this story even though the ending was predictable. I shall be looking at other books by this author now.
For a cheesy chick-lit, this was pretty good. I had bought it for my mother in law who likes the author, but before I had the chance to give it her, I was bored and wanted to see what her writing style was like...
And here we are, they have kissed, it is happily ever after. Exactly the opposite of the last book I read. It was a bit of light fun. The characters were pompous and immature for their age and the sweeping villa is just too good to be true but I didn't guess the twist (shame on me) so it gets a four star for the sheer unlikelyhood but fact that I enjoyed it.
Love the vibes, but the brief “sweet home Alabama” thing was disgusting.😭 And the ending was predictable, but overall it was cozy and quick which is exactly what I wanted to read rn. (Thank you jojo💖)
