Hiro Mashima (Jap: 真島ヒロ) is a Japanese manga artist.
He gained success with his first serial Rave, published in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 1999 to 2005. His best-selling work, Fairy Tail, published in the same magazine from 2006 to 2017, became one of the best-selling manga series with over 72 million copies in print. Mashima began the currently ongoing Edens Zero in 2018.
Fairy Tail won the Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen manga in 2009, and Mashima was given the Harvey Awards International Spotlight award in 2017 and the Fauve Special Award at the 2018 Angoulême International Comics Festival.
The level of detail in the panels has increased immensely in this volume. Hiro Mashima has never included so many details in the previous volumes. This greatly enhances the richness of the story.

3/5 I am officially one third through Fairy Tail. The ball is starting to get rolling on the Edolas arc. Now firmly located on an alternate world/reality Natsu, Wendy, Carla, and Happy come across this worlds version of Fairy Tail.
A ton of new characters are introduced as alternate versions of people from “Earth-land” are revealed. Most are kind of opposites of each other and I can only guess that this is where the mysterious Mystogan originally comes from. I’m guessing he is Edolas’ Jellal.
The arc is ok so far but not as good as pasy story lines but maybe it will just take a little more time to get going. The Exceed race of cat beings is interesting and some of the alternates are fun but nothing super exciting just yet.
The cover of 21 shows many of the Fairy Tail alternates and members of the Exceed.
Finding themselves in an opposite world from their own, our heroes will get entwined with their opposite selves and with unexpected enemies while Happy and Carla have their own adventure. A (100%/Outstanding)
I don’t believe an existence of parallel world in real but this setting is favorable for me. Readers will be able to know a roots of Happy and Chalue in this volume. However, I am worried the setting of Edlas. It is unstable so I hope I could keep understanding the story clearly until the end of story.
Nawet nie zauważyłam, kiedy skończyłam ten tom! Uwielbiam Happy’ego i fajnie, ze on tez dostał swoje piec minut. Zapomnijcie o magiach, tym omen żądza koty!
This series' boisterous imagination continues, this time with an arc in a kind of alternate world where there are many alternate, or even opposite, versions of Fairy Tail characters. Edolas Gray wears heavy clothing all over his body, and makes goo-goo eyes at Juvia, and Juvia is stoic and unresponsive. Natsu loves driving and is timid when outside of his car. And... Mirajane is exactly the same. Hehe.
We get some background as to where Happy and Carla come from, and why they become partners to the dragon mages, at least to begin with. Those who took the cats' eggs from their parents didn't reckon on their becoming attached to their humans. Carla goes through some remorseful soul-searching as friends are captured, perhaps because of a pre-programmed agenda that made her guide them into a trap.
Loses a point or two because the fan service seems especially egregious this time around. Maybe it's because there are twice as many Lucys, Erzas, etc. and therefore twice as many opportunities for the artist to get naughty with the camera angles. :P The crotch shots especially, got to be a bit much after a while.
I found the focus on background and the history of Happy and Carla to be a nice change of pace, since I honestly expected this book to exploit the "look, other-world Fairy Tail people are different ha ha ha" idea a whole lot more. In fact, that's all I expected from this volume at all, and wasn't terribly excited about it. But it surprised me in a good way. The nods to other-world people were there but subtle, and the focus was really on the politics and social stratification of this world.
The earth Natsu and Wendy figure out that the wizards in front Omar’s similar but opposite. Wendy is grown and very attractive (boobs) Lisana is alive Carla and Happy are enemy’s to the FT guild, members of the kingdom’s? There is a ‘Fairy hunter’ the Fairytail guild is movable because of Levi’s magic The kingdom wants every wizard guild abolished, Fairytail is the only one left and they are considered a dark guild Sugar Boy: Royal Military Commander Earth FT got turned into a massive Lacrima crystal in the centre of the kingdom The fairy hunter is ‘Erza Nightwalker’ aka Erza the Fairy Hunter - royal military commander The earth Natsu explains he is from earth Master was MURDERED???? (In Edolas) Pantherlily: Royal military commander :3 They plan to extract magic from FT Lacrima in 4 days…… King of Edolas: Faust, desire’s eternity. (Undying magical power) Natsu and the guys can’t use their magic Edolas wizards don’t store their magic IN their bodies, rather in objects. Natsu and Wendy use these on royal guards who find them. It goes poorly. REAL WORLD LUCY!! SHES FREE!! The guards are trying to take her LUCY CAN USE HER MAGIC (she summons Scorpio) Ahh, Horologium saved Earth-Lucy and that’s how she isn’t in the Lacrima The try to steal a ship, fail and the Edo-Natsu comes and saves them (‘the fastest guy in FT, Natsu the Fireball) He’s actually a really big softie Fragments of information have been coming to Carla (about Edo) but not Happy? The tunnel they were sneaking in through gets ambushed by Erza and guards. THEY BOW TO CARLA AND HAPPY!!!?? Saying “welcome home Exceeds”?? Ichiya is a cat XD Captain of the Imperial Guard of Extalia Extalia is full of Exceeds- who are superior over humans, the queen of Extalia watches over everything the humans do. Even earth land and has the authority to decide who lives and dies??? Carla reveals her duty: “chosen by the Queen to control the humans and to eliminate the dragon slayer Wendy” , her revealing this make Happy think his was to murder Natsu Ohhh their duty had change somewhere along the way to bring the Dragonslayers into custody instead (because of their Mp) Happy, is going to kick their ass. He and Carla escape the castle, even with the exceed royal guard chasing them. Carla calls Happy his name instead of ‘Male Cat’ for the first time FT Lacrima is actually on a floating island, not in the city centre? Happy and Carla meet two older Exceeds who were shunned out for their different views. They take them in for a little, spew some wisdom which gives Happy and Carla the strength to push on and delve deep into their hearts. They spread their wings and fly. They were Happy’s parents :3 Erza comes to Lucy’s cell. Lucy sort of tell her about her Earth-Erza and then.. it just goes down hill. She throws her off the top of the balcony (very high up) but Happy and Carla come just in time. CARLA JUST CASUALLY REVEALS SHE IS QUEEN CHAGOT’S DAUGHTER AND PRINCESS CARLA????? Oh, nevermind? The Extalia bombard them from the air, the Royal humans on the ground, Carla, Happy and Carla are caught in the middle
It would have been 3 stars but the last like 1/2 - 3/4 saved it.

We find out the truth about Wendy’s guild; how they’re not really real and the master was a ghost who not just created nirvana but had been watching over it for hundreds of years. And when Jellal (later revealed that it was mystogan—he’s from Edolas) left young Wendy in the masters care he made the guild for Wendy. It was sad to see all she had known start to disappear.
Now we’re at the Edolas arc, we learn that Happy and Carla are actually from another world—Edolas. Although it seems that Carla knows a little about who she really is, Happy has no clue and even when they go to this other world nothing comes back to him and I feel so sad for him because he seems like he’s not sure about anything. I love Happy.
Ahhh omg when we met the FT members of Edolas, they’re the compete opposite of the ones we know. Lucy’s a bit scary? And Natsu? I couldn’t stop laughing at how he’s the polar opposite to the one we love. Edolas Natsu doesn’t have motion sickness yet he cries in the face of confrontation.
Happy and Carla to the rescue! I love their dynamic, they fit so well together.
“But now look… when we can finally see the true shape that r our hearts… that’s when our wings propel us forward!”
Happy met his parents but he didn’t even realise it. That was such a wonderful moment it brought actual tears to me eyes.
This will be my full review for this entire series. I already read this comic from volume 1-30. Suppose there 50 volume more of this series but I prefer not to finish it as I don't really like the time-skip idea in this series.
To clarify, I love the idea of time-skip. But, in this series, I really hate it. It make Natsu and other main member weaker. Why make them weaker? I want to see MC progress throughout the series. Then, suddenly become weaker. Not to mention when MC want to win each battle, power of friendship keep coming back each battle.
Furthermore, there are a lot of un-explained things happened in this series. The dots are not connected rather than scattered throughout the series. It just there to fill the plot-hole. Rather than explaining, Mr Hiro keep continuing the series and keep adding new characters each volume.
So, after the time-skip, I determine to stop reading this series. I don't want to ruin my memories of this awesome series. For most part, this series actually had huge potential because of interesting and lovable character, but the plot is keep on damaging this series slowly.

Ok, Mashima might be winning me over with this other world. I'm not 100% sold on it but there are some parts that I'm really digging. I like the fact that you can have the same person from multiple worlds meet and not have the space time continuum explode lol. I also like that it seems like the tables have really turned at least for the time being where the Dragon Slayers don't have their magic and the weaker characters in the Earth-land seem to be stronger here. I'm looking forward to seeing where this is going to go; especially with how the magic is working in this world. Also, the major plot twists that came with the discovery of what Exceed are and their "superiority" to humans. But what about this whole God thing? I'm not sure I'm buying it
I will say that based on the Anime version which I loved I was going to give it three stars because of some changes that were made but I thought that would be unfair, however I was very disappointed in how they revealed Lisanna was still alive, because they didn't have a bunch of the flashbacks that the Anime had (and very few that they did have didn't focus much on Natsu) this resulted in a very emotional part from the Anime not making much of an impact. Lisanna is one of my favorite characters based on her back story and I'm glad they fixed it in the Anime but it just wasn't there in the Manga.
But if we look at it just based on the story and not the Anime it was pretty good.

Thoughts on this volume: • Stopped binging long enough to have thoughts. • Meeting Happy's family made me tear up, like damn. • I keep waiting for the "it has actually been the earthland version of this character all along" switch up because I swear it happens but I can't remember any of the details about this arc apart from the stupid ship dynamics (edo-Gruvia how I long for your dynamic) • Carla pulling the 'I'm the princess' card and then going 'I was bluffing' was honestly a flex. But yeah she's totally the princess. • Where the FUCK is Gajeel's dumb ass at? There is a cat waiting for you my man, get your ass back here.

A small but mighty team of Fairy Tail Guild members head to the land of Edolas, a parallel world in search of their vanished guild members. In this world it seems to have taken the complete opposite of each person's personalities. That type of change up, makes this a very fun issue to see just how different the characters "could" be. This volume is chalk full of revelations and we gain even more backstory on Happy. I must admit even I didn't think they would give us as many revelations within one volume...but it made this a MUST READ volume of the series!
Maybe I just don't like Happy and Carla as much as everyone else, but this particular volume felt like it was nearly all filler, just messing around till the Earth-Fairy Tail crew could be sent up against the human King and the Exceed Queen. Honestly? I felt it was really weak for Fairy Tail, which I'd found particularly strong for the previous 20 volumes...
Here it is. The arc that contributes.....well...what does it contribute to the series exactly? Wish I knew. Felt like the creator was bored and decided to mess around with his characters. Nothing here contributes at all to some master plan of this series. Just felt like Mashima was fucking around.
However, my boi Gajeel gets his cat in this arc. So, two stars lmao.
