Very profound work. I think there are some questions to be raised concerning the accuracy of some of Hattori's translated terms. More importantly, please note: despite Hattori's helpful and indispensable commentary, I think it is somewhat tainted (or relies too heavily) on reading Dignaga through the lense of Dharmakirti. For that reason, i hope more straightforwardly literal (or "verbatim") translations will emerge...

dont read this. too obtuse and esoteric without the necessary primer. but still a great work of philosophy whose distinction between particulars and complex cognitions, alongside the development of exclusionary apoha theory, provides an interesting visualization of our mental faculties.
