Four friends on the brink of graduation - and adulthood...
It's senior year at California's Glenwood High for sexy Kit McCoy, athletic Alex Enomoto, brainy Elaine Gregory, and beautiful Lori Woodhouse. It is a time for discovery - and for falling in love. These four friends share everything: their dreams, fears, and deepest secrets. If one has a special date, she's sure to tell the other girls every delicious detail. If one of them is in trouble, her friends are the first to know - and help.
So you can bet Elaine, Alex, and Lori are right by Kit's side when she confesses she's in love with Justin Kennerly. It's only natural that her flamboyant good looks have turned Justin's head. But her friends are concerned. They know that under her flirtatious exterior, Kit's terribly scared of love - and surprisingly inexperienced. But does Justin know the truth? Or does he expect TOO MUCH, TOO SOON?
I began writing at the age of eight and wrote my way through the lean years before I found success as New York Times' bestselling author with my first novel GARDEN OF LIES. To date I have published 19 novels and a cookbook. Every life experience I've weathered has found its way into my novels in one form or another: bad exes, births, deaths, divorces, romances, and even true crime. My heroines are like me: tough cookies who don't crumble.
My latest novel, Book One of my Gold Creek series, ALL THEY NEED TO KNOW, is the story of a woman fleeing her abusive ex who finds refuge in a small California mountain town, where she's befriended by a group of women who call themselves The Tattooed Ladies and reinvents herself as a police sketch artist. Kyra "draws lines to stop crimes," as they say in the biz, never imagining she'll one day be forced to confront the biggest criminal of all: her ex.
I'm married to former entertainment reporter Sandy Kenyon and the mother of two grown children. We live in Sacramento, California, where we remodeled a 1940's house for which I was the on-site project manager. Fortunately, multi-tasking is my superpower, so I was able to write a book and supervise a home remodel at the same time. The latter is sure to find its way into a future book. Follow me on Instagram and Facebook to see pics of my home remodel and other adventures.
This is from 1984.... It is the senior year for 4 young ladies....
You have Kit who is sexy and a dancer.
Elaine who is smart and Most Likely to Suceed.
Alex who is athletic.
Lori who is beautiful but shy and unable to say no.
This thus starts the teenager series known as Seniors.
This book revolves around Kit and her need for attention.
She dresses sexy and flamboyant but gets frustrated when men push her too hard too fast.
She falls for Justin but is scared because even though she acts experienced she isn't. Will Justin push her like the others or will he understand it if she says no.
What does a girl do?
This book might seem a bit cheesy in some parts but it is well written and does not seem dated as some of 80s books do.
The author deals with issues that young women and men face daily while growing up. She keeps this up with her other books in the same series.
Features a group of four friends who would not pass the Bechdel test. Kit is in the spotlight this time and we spend eleventy billion pages in her head as she obsesses about sex (which she calls It). Hon, here’s a pro tip for you: if you can’t even say the word you are nowhere near ready for the activity. 2.5 stars
