This collection of essays looks at and analyses different aspects of the feminist theories in relation to the body, both positively and negatively. The essays are grouped according to the main focus ranging from the physical body of women and sexuality through bodies in science to altered and performing bodies. The essays vary in style and approach but each one is well written and relatively easy to read given the complexity of the subjects covered. I did find reading the book in its entirety a bit heavy going so would suggest that it's better to read it over a longer period to really take in the information and theories presented.
