Say Nothing: A Margaret Singer Murder Mystery

Rate this book
With roots firmly entrenched in upstate New York, private investigator Margaret Singer has just taken a two-week vacation when she receives a phone call she cannot ignore. Family friend and decorated Iraq war veteran David Rizzo has disappeared. After local police are unsuccessful in locating a body or any substantial clues, Rizzo's family hires Singer to take on the case. Singer is immediately suspicious that something horrible has happened to Rizzo, a football hero with a patriotic fervor and religious generosity who is rumored to have returned from a second tour of duty with an addiction and a troubled girlfriend. After Singer and New York State Police senior investigator Charlie Griffith team up on the case, the seasoned detectives soon realize that Rizzo's disappearance is just one of several related crimes. What is even more perplexing is why the FBI has suddenly taken a controlling interest in the investigation and invoked the Patriot Act. When David's girlfriend and a young Afghan girl are found murdered, the case takes a complicated turn.

As the two detectives wonder if the government is protecting a killer and whether they will find David dead or alive, the danger intensifies as an international secret is exposed.
