The Engineer: A Novella

Rate this book
Jim Anderson is overjoyed to be starting his freshman year of college. He wants to make the most of his time in college and its engineering program, to experience everything (and, every guy) that he can.Occasionally suspecting he might be a bit too clever for his own good, Jim is kept tethered by his one-of-the-good-jocks roommate, joyous but chill, supportive but straight. Jim is goaded unto unreasonableness by the wealthy chair of his department. Jim might be (but probably isn't) starting up a relationship with a soft-brained business twink who keeps showing up at parties. Jim has no shortage of fun times, but comes to realize that the apps and the hookups aren't enough. They're too incessant; he needs something more.Jim is determined to find the perfect man. Jim finds the perfect man.Jim meets his perfect girlfriend."The Engineer" finds staggering depth in the mundane alleyways of the soul, comedy in a meticulous interrogation of pleasure and desire, joy in best friends' simple banter, poetry in pornography. It is the first third of a three-book series that will shred your expectations about what adult literature can do in our current age of anxiety. Contact the author at jeremy.york@protonmail.com.
