Kyle decides to become a secret agent after his mom kicks his dad out of the house. But not the 007 kind of secret agent, the kind of agent that gets a book published, but one who's doing the work of getting the book in the right hands without anyone knowing who's doing it. Not the editor, not the publishing company and not even the author! Because his dad is the author of a book that he's been trying to get published for 6 years unsuccessfully, which is why he was kicked out of the house. Kyle figures that if he can get his dad's book published, then maybe his parents will get back together. He's going to need a little help, though. And he gets it in the form of the girl across the street who has a crush on him, a popular kid in school who has a crush on the girl across the street, the popular kid's grandmother and his two best friends who can't stand each other. It's a fun read and Kyle sticks to his principles through the entire book, even when tempted by knowledge that everyone in the publishing world is dying to know, but only he was fortunate enough to find out.

I liked the conversational style of writing in this. It was a quick read and a fun story. I may even pick up the sequel if I can find it. In a way, it reminded me a little of the Anna Smudge book, though less comic booklike.

I didn't like the style of the writing, it was in second person, and i do like reading books that are written in second person i love the mortal instruments series for example, but this book didn't just focus on one of the character and changed perspectives every now and then, but it kept telling us what each person thought and felt at the exact moment which i found exhausting, i do not recommend this book.

This is a good book. Many people can relate to this book and make connections. It is about a boy by the name of Kyle who's mom and dad divorced because his dad is an author and had written a book which leaves him struggling. He works for a person who wants him to walk his dog and after that, he thinks he has figured out a way to bring his parents back together. It is a really good book because like I said many people can relate to this and it can give them hope that one day they could get back together. I think this book is great because of the situation I'm in. The character also creates a mood that many people would be in if it happened which makes the story more lifelike.

It was a fun story where the characters were faced with numerous challenges but had solutions only some of the time. They were faced with some deeper questions of integrity and some of the time they made good choices but most of the time the concept of "the end justifies the means" was the mode of operation.

A good, upbeat, fast moving read. Great for Middle School readers. I enjoyed the way the narrator, though not a participant, related the story to an audience of enrapt listeners, rather than your standard third person dialogue.

I would recommend it to all readers, young and old.

This book Secret Agent by Robyn Freedman Spizman is a very secretive book. I like this book because it’s very sneaky and suspicious. This book mainly takes place at school and at Kyle’s house. Kyle’s parents are separating.The main character’s are Lucinda, Tryonne, and Chad his friend including his parents.They help Kyle with his situation. The main conflict happens when Kyle’s mother wants his dad to leave or in other words kicks Kyle’s dad out. Meanwhile, Kyle’s dad has been working to get his book published for 6 years. His book is about working relationship problems out and feelings. Kyle feels if he can somehow get this book published it will help his parents get back together.Kyle and his friends end up getting it through the editor and the publisher without knowing who wrote it which, is Kyle’s dad. I recommend this book to 11+ year olds. Younger kids might lose interest. I would recommend this book because, it shows the message that taking things into your own hand might be the best solution.
