The Piston Mountain Pack has been begging him to get rid of the ghosts he’s been dragging, and he’s finally ready to say goodbye to the things that built him. Everything happens for a reason, and going back to his old stomping grounds puts him right in the path of a girl he used to know. She’s different now, but he glimpses the same old kindness in her. Too bad soft humans don’t belong in Packs of rough-edged, volatile werewolves, and with Harlow, he knows she deserves better than the chaos of Pack life. Harlow is sure hard to stay away from though, and especially when she’s dredging up his favorite memories from when he and his brother were kids. How does he tell her to run? How does he tell the woman he’s falling for what he’s really doing back in her hometown? How does he explain what is hunting him and his friends? Most importantly, how does he tell her how much danger she is in just being around him?
Harlow Everett is ready for change.
She’s starting a business, and moving back in to the house she grew up in, and running like wild from any man who even looks her way. When an old friend from the neighborhood shows up out of the blue, she can’t believe Vaughn is the same person she knew way-back-when. He’s huge now, made of solid muscle and charm, but his eyes keep changing colors. The growl in his throat says he is something that shouldn’t exist, but she can’t quite convince herself to be scared of him. Not when he’s back in town helping her father out, and showing his heart little by little. Oh, he’s dangerous. All of his friends are, but the more she learns about the man he’s turned into, the more she wants to know. Vaughn keeps hinting that some kind of war is coming for him, and she should run, right? But here is the thing about the monsters bearing down on her hometown—Harlow has always, always had the ability to see the good.
Don’t miss out on this exciting 5th installment in T. S. Joyce’s bestselling Wolves of Piston series. In the shadow of Piston Mountain…nothing is as it seems.
Content Warning: Smoldering love scenes, naughty language, and piles of shifter secrets. This series is establishing territory lines for a new Pack. If you aren’t up for wolf fights, this won’t be your jam, but if you’re up for action-adventure love stories with a side of werewolf growly-growly-fight-fights, this one’s for you.
T.S. Joyce is devoted to bringing hot shifter romances to readers. Hungry alpha males are her calling card, and the wilder the men, the more she'll make them pour their hearts out. She werebear swears there'll be no swooning heroines in her books. It takes tough-as-nails women to handle the shifters of Bear Valley.
She lives in a tiny town, outside of a tiny city, and devotes her life to writing big stories. Foodie, bear whisperer, ninja, thief of tiny bottles of awesome smelling hotel shampoo, nap connoisseur, movie fanatic, and zombie slayer, and most of this bio is true.
Bear Shifters? Check Smoldering Alpha Hotness? Double Check Sexy Scenes? Fasten up your girdles, ladies and gents, it's gonna to be a wild ride.
Vaughn seemed so lost at the start of this one. It's like he wanted to be happy like the others, yet he wasn't sure how, stuck in the horrible past he had to live. I liked that the one bright spot in his life was there and gave him a nudge and some great advice.
Harlow was funny, she was just as lost as Vaughn, the two of them a bit pathetic, but it worked for them. Each one was determined to boost the other up. I really liked when Vaughn realized that Harlow had known his secret all the years and did nothing about it.
I loved how the pack, along with Harlow and her dad, did what they could to help put the past, clearly in the past for Vaughn and his brother. It was touch and go, but it was finished.
I loved how we got to see everyone happy, just living their lives. That is as it should be.
Really hot shifter read. I have read all of this series and enjoyed them all. Vaughn is struggling with burning his old mothers' home down. He goes back to the ruins and runs into Harlow Evertte his former neighbor. He is drawn to her and help her fix up her dad's home. There is evil after the pack; and they must come together to fight evil.
I don't read many MF books anymore but T.S Joyce's book always hit the spot. This one had the found family, healing, hope and just a touch of steam that I expect from her books.
I’ve been waiting for Vaughn’s story since Zombie Wolf of Piston. Because he was the slightly unhinged comedic relief, and those oddball characters are always my favourite. Only in this book… he wasn’t funny. Don’t get me wrong, he was still the same sort of sweet protector with the redemption vibes going on, but he was very different than he was presented in the first book. I don’t know if the anticipation built it up too much, or I set my expectations on something, but this didn’t deliver to the usual level. And Harlow had a moment where she completely changed character and became the standard dream girlfriend partway through. Which was fine, but it didn’t fit with her character. I’ve never minded the same-ish nature of these books previously, but there were some repeated elements that just didn’t fit for this particular couple. The added paranormal elements don’t work as well either. The shifters are spot on, but once the witches and zombies come in I don’t tend to enjoy it as much. Even the ghosts went too far in this one. But I did like that the drama and conflict comes from outside of the couple, not just a misunderstanding or silly argument.
This is the forth full length book in the series, fifth if you count the Christmas novella. This is Vaughn’s book. He is struggling with feelings about his mother and his childhood. Then there is his place in the pack. He was demoted to last place and feels like he isn’t trusted by the alpha. Then things take a turn when he is visiting his childhood home. Harlow is his neighbor’s daughter who used to come during the summer. Now she has moved in with her dad to help him out. One look is all he needs. He finds himself going over there and helping her. Not doing things for her though. She doesn’t need or want that. Just helping out. Harlow knows what Vaughn and his brother are. She is finding that they aren’t monster but just regular men who struggle. Can Vaughn and Harlow help each other? She loves the girls in the pack and fits in right away. But can Vaughn protect her against the ghosts that are haunting the pack? Their ghosts are partnering up and they have a plan. But the pack has no clue what they are up to. I am loving this series more and more with each book. I can’t wait for the next book. T.S. Joyce is a fantastic author. She is one of my must-read authors and I don’t even read the blurb. I just dive in. I am never disappointed. Fantastic job once again T.S. Joyce.
This book features Vaughn but it really delves deeper into the history of Vaughn and his twin brother Vander. We learn about their difficult childhood, their parents , and how a neighbor saved their lives. Vaughn is just a great character, around chapter 3-4, he was determined to help his neighbor Randall, but the daughter Harlow needed to help her dad too. Harlow was reclaiming her independence after separating from a bad ex boyfriend. Harlow told Vaughn she did not need any help to build the ramp. Vaughn knew that was not true but he wanted to respect Harlow’s boundaries. He understood her need. Vaughn returned the next morning with all his tools and said, this is me respecting your boundaries, but let me help you help the man that helped the child me when no one else was there. (paraphrased). That was such a moment amongst many in this book! The author did a great job with the storytelling as usual. There is a happy ending. Read On!
‘She had never been interested in perfect. She was interested in real, and right now, Vaughn was the only thing in her life that wasn’t blurred and confusing. His edges were clear, his intentions were crisp, he was honest, and she knew where she stood with him, and it made her feel safe. Safe enough to want this with him. He could make her feel like a woman again, and she could help him to forget.’
My eyes stung a few times while reading TS Joyce’s last book in the Wolves of Piston series. There is a lot of sentiment in this author’s writings. Lots of sass, too. And lots and lots of love.
The thing about love is that it hurts when you don’t have it.
Watching Vaughn find his way to love was incredible, in Traitor Wolf of Piston. Having such a strong backstory of pain, ghosts, and terror turn into a loving sense of wonder when he found his Harlow was emotional and held so much meaning.
This is one of my favorites, and I have read them all!!!
Traitor wolf of Piston (Wolves of Piston book 4) by TS Joyce is a 5 ⭐️ read. This book got me right in the feels, I have loved all of T’s books but every so often one just hits differently and this is was the one!! Vaughn used to be second in his pack but now he’s been pushed to the bottom and his Alpha doesn’t trust him, he gets why but it still bugs him, when he visits his childhood home, or what’s left of it, he sees his neighbour who was there for him when he was younger and he asks for Vaughan’s help. Harlow used to visit her father during school holidays but a few years ago she came home for good and got mixed up with a man who dragged her down, now finally free from him she starting her business and has no desire to find another man but when her dad’s old neighbour, who has grown into a drool worthy man shows up to help her, she has no idea what’s she’s in for.
As always i've loved this book by T.S Joyce it fits into this series just right and i cant wait for the next book i love all the guys and girls from this Pack, zombie Wolf stole my heart so He is still my fav but as i cant give 100 Stars i had zo Stick with 5 for each of them so far. I loved the packs groth throught the books and how they all found there place and there own happy while getting closer. I love them all and i know the next book will be another masterpiece. I used to love all of Daimons Mountain books most of all but These characters are fast bekommen atleast as Well loved. Im always said there arent more audiobooks but for t.s joyce's books i dont mind takeing the time to read and reread all her loveable broken characters.
Vaughn was just trying to save his pack from the Zombie wolf, but opened the door to an other world of trouble. Now at the bottom of the pack, trying to deal with the ghosts (his dead mother still screams at him from the porch) of his childhood home and past, Vaughn crosses paths with the girl next door who witnessed his trauma filled childhood and helped him and his brother survive. Vaughn, wanting to lay the past to rest, wants to pay it forward by helping out his neighbors, and falls for the girl. Harlow knows what Vaughn is and isn't afraid. She has been crushed by the world in her last relationship, and just wants to be friends with the big bad wolf. Sparks fly and danger waits in the darkened house next door. This story makes your heart ache for the Halls boys and is a must read!!!
Vaughn is considered the traitor in his Pack and because of this he lost his second position rank to his twin brother. Hoping to turn a new leaf, he finds himself in the trailer park where he grew up helping a man who heavily influenced his life…and his daughter😉
Harlow is just out of a toxic relationship and she isn’t looking to jump into another. She wants time to heal and get to know herself again - that is until she gets an eyeful of the handsome and muscular Vaughn😋
A great story with all the feels and a few definite surprises. Looking forward to Foster’s story next❣️
I love the characters in this series and I love seeing the pack find their mates. Harlow grew up next door to Vaughn and Vander and knew the hell they endured. She also knew what they were and had kept their secret. She's moved back home with her father who is now in a wheelchair having come out of a toxic relationship. Vaughn pays a visit to his old home which is just rubble now but it's haunted by the ghost of their abusive mother. Harlow and Vaughn connect as friends but then become so much more. Their story is emotional and you get drawn in from the first chapter. Excellent reading.
My lord I have so enjoyed reading each of these broken shifter's stories. They are all unique, what an imagination this author has and I can't wait to read Foster's story which should be just as interesting and unique as all the others. There isn't any passion in this one, but who needs it when the storyline is so good.
Vaughn is so sure he can never be the wolf his twin Vander has become, or worthy enough to have someone love him. He is broken and has a monster in him. Until he sees Harlow after so many years, she's not the little girl he remembers and realizes the fates have always had her in waiting. She comforted him when he was a pup and can tame the monster in him now.
Vaughn was at his old childhood home watching the ghost of his mother taunt him. His old neighbor who was almost like a dad to him asked him for a favor. His daughter was broken down in town and needed help. When Vaughn sees Harlow all the memories of their childhood come back. Would she be scared if she knew what he was? Harlow knew what he was but she just came out of a really bad relationship and just wanted a friend. Could Vaughn be that friend or more?
Vaughn has a lot of trauma he's been dealing with for many years. His alpha told him to go get his head straight, bringing him back to his old life.
Harlow has just moved in with her father after a recent breakup. Against her better judgment, seeing Vaughn after so many years lights something within her.
The feelings run between them to such a degree that they know change is coming. They just didn't realize the amount of chaos it would mean.
This story has its tender moments, lots of action and good v evil. I truly enjoyed this read 📚!
Wolves of Piston book 4. Vaughn gets his story. It was gut wrenching, dramatic, angsty and hopeful. I mean Wolves, bears and ghosts oh my! Vaughn has some serious childhood trauma. Harlow is just getting out of a very messy relationship. They've known each other as kids, but now they're all grown up. The chemistry is real. She helps him as he battles his demons and he helps her get more confident. As a giant betrayal happen, the pack comes together, including the humans, to battle it out. This book is smexy and simply a fantastic read.
After a bad breakup, Harlow Everett moves in with her dad where she spent memorable summers. When Vaughn Hall comes with Harlow’s dad to get her out of a tight spot, they start shaky but build on their lost friendship until it’s loving. Meanwhile, Stryker’s ordered Vaughn to not only settle his feelings on his old house but bring back their wayward wolf.
This outing dealt with relationships even when they weren’t on the page and they were done well. Also, the leads and storyline made this an easy outing for this reader to invest in. Rating: 4.25stars
I thought there would be another book in this series to tell Foster's story, but this is obviously the last one with the final battle and all the baddies gone... So, all I can say is I'm disappointed that it's ended. The final battle was good, but I would have liked a little more focus on the 4 main ghosts as they were defeated. Also, at times it was not clear, at least to me, how many of the enemy were ghosts vs. living. But, an unexpected character showed up to help the heroes win and that was a satisfying surprise.
This is just a good story for me. I struggled staying focused on it because it did mot seem to move along as smooth as the others. I did like the characters. Harlow has a great independent streak and I enjoyed Vaughn’s reaction to it. He worked his magic to get Harlow to come around to him moving from the friend zone to boyfriend. Both of these two had nice growth and learned togetherness. Loved the pack time and also still seeing Zombie Wolf aka Stryker still growing and changing with every book.
The love story of Vaughn and Harlow. The twin's mother is back. She is doing everything to destroy the boys. Vaughn has return to the trailer park grew up in. Harlow has return home after breaking up with her boyfriend. Vaughn help her with her father's trailer and love bloom. Can he protect Harlow from his mother and her ex and win the respect of his pack? Great story.
This book makes you want to cry and laugh. It is just that good. T.S. Joyce is a rare breed of authors. All her books are a must read. I have read every single book she has wrote and they are all great. They draw you in and keep you captivated through each and every series. I love the little something special she adds to each book that brings a connection from another series. Keep writing and I will keep reading T. S. Joyce!
This book has so much heart. It shows that with the right family and support that you can grown and bloom no matter how and things were before. T.S. continues being one of. Y go to authors when I am in a book slump. She has grown as a anthropology over the last years and I think she is going to deliver som even better books in the future. I love that she has her own voice and doesn’t follow trends and just writes her heart.
TS Joyce is an auto buy for me. I have read every one of her books from the very beginning and she still can get me staying up all night to get to the end of the book. A real page turner of a story with Vaughan and Harlow being well rounded, full bodied characters that the read can relate to. Overcoming all incoming obsticles with strength and humor. I can assure everyone reading this book that it will be well worth your time and $$, just as I do.
In this installment the piston pack twins have to come face to face with their path and finally move on. This path one twin finds a girl next door all grown up and he wants to help the neighbors who always helped him and his brother. Little does the bachelor know but he finds his mate but he wants to do it right for her and himself. The final battle frees the twins and the pack to finally burry their ghosts permantely. Enjoy this one.
I feel as though this book had more feeling. There was so much to overcome from both of them. "Have the day you deserve" is a saying I use a lot haha yet only a small few find it insulting. There were a few things that shocked me but I all worked cohesively. I can't wait for the next book.
Awesomeness! I dropped The book I was reading when I saw this out! Drama! War!,Mystery and suspence with a pinch of knowing you. Great things happen when you can except your fate. Loved when Stryker came straight out and told her get on or just go. She is such a adorable character, funny, strong and sexy. Can't wait for the next read. Argh!
