If only there was more reading like this! Stuart offers a deep historical overview of humanity's use of plans for healing, pain relief, poison, and magic. Stuart is a gardener and botanist, and tells the story of medicine through botanical history. He captures the transformations of science from apothecary to modern times, through the explorers, doctors, and (very often unfortunate) patients who received and sometimes even healed from these treatments.
