A Snoodle's Tale

Rate this book
A charming tale that helps children ages 4-8 understand who created them and how special they are There's a curious building in the middle of Snoodleburg. It's a clock tower where every fourth Tuesday at quarter past nine a tiny young Snoodle is created, complete with a pack on his back. None of the Snoodles take time to question this 'mystery of life,' until one day the newest Snoodle asks himself, 'What do I look like? What am I for?' And so begins this Snoodle's quest to discover the meaning of his life. He tries out the gifts he finds in his paints, a kazoo, and tiny wings. But as he tries to put these gifts to use, the other Snoodles laugh and make fun and burden him with pictures of discouragement. In search for answers, the Snoodle wanders up to the top of Mt. Ginchez. There he meets a stranger who shows the little Snoodle that he is wonderfully and fearfully made in the image of his Creator. And just like this Snoodle, kids too will discover that it's God's pictures they must carry in their hearts at all time.

A Snoodles Tale is a picture book written for the age group of 4-8. The book follows a young Snoodle who struggles to find his talents and his place in his world, often being mocked by his fellow Snoodles. He eventually finds his creator who convinces him that he is perfect the way he is and doesn't need the approval of others to make him valuable. This book makes me cry every time I read it; it truly touches my heart! The themes are something that everyone can relate to at one point in their life or another, and the rhyming pattern makes it easy to follow along with. Based on the plot, I think this book would be best for a child dealing with this specific issue. A young reader who can't relate to the problems of the little Snoodle might not find this book as meaningful. This book obviously has pretty heavy religious themes and would fit in best in a household where conversations about God are held. In fact, this book would be a great way to talk to your child about why God made them and how he views each of his children. The illustrations in the book are super cute and eye-catching and fit perfectly with the assigned age group.
