Violet, a very curious young mouse, invites babies and toddlers into her home to explore, room by room, her favorite things. Delightfully written rhythmic verse and engaging illustrations lead children to discover the feel of objects that surround them in their everyday world. From touching Violet's fluffy poodle to joining her as she puts sticky toothpaste on her brush, children will want to visit Violet's House time and time again.
My 9 month old son loves this book. It is great for both tactile development and language development. This book has kept my son's interest for several minutes at the time, which is quite commendable.
This is a great touch & feel book, each page has 3-5 items for your toddler to touch. It teaches them about rooms in the house and the sense of touch. The book is very sturdy and they managed to come up with quite a lot of different types of "material" for the kids to touch and feel.
We're between books right now so before we go to the library Monday, I had to pick between what was available (moving sucks!). Found this book. My son is a little old for it at 4, but he enjoyed the book, touching all the sensory items while I read him the story.
While I find this book somewhat lacking in storyline and substance, it happens to be one of Benjamin's favorite books. Benjamin is my 16 month old. So really, the 5 star rating is on behalf of him.
My daughter's develop-mentalist has gifted my daughter several books; this touch and feel book is at the top of the list! We've read it at least 100 times.
