Rate this book

Look Now is a spellbinding picture of our world and its people conveyed through infographics. The five exciting chapters-Earth, People, Power, Industry, and Connections-examine the physical world and different spheres of human activity, and present facts, figures, graphics, illustrations, and photographs in a way that tells the interconnected stories of the modern world.

Half encyclopedia, half almanac, and 100% awesome, the book delivers the information with a stunning array of graphic and visual tools that encourage the reader not only to understand the world we live in, but to see it in a brand new light.

Fullman, J. & Espito, L. (2010). Look now: The world in facts, stats, and graphics. Dk Publishing, Inc.

Content/Scope: This reference includes a multitude of information. Information is presented about earth, people, power, and industry and then all of these things are connected in a different chapter. Due to the amount of information that is being covered, it would seem that this reference is not able to go in depth in any chapter.

Accuracy: Dk Publishing is a trusted publisher due to the amount of materials and educational sources they have published.

Arrangement: The information is divided into five chapters; earth, people, power, industry, and connection. The chapters include facts, figures, illustrations, graphics, and photos.

Relation to Similar Works: The overviews compare this book to half encyclopedia and half almanac.

Timelines: This book was published in 2010 and will need to be updated as new information is discovered.

Cost: $24.99

It's hard for me when I wasn't blown away by a book. I struggle for the right things to say.
This was one of those books.
I don't want to hack it apart and say bad things, it had great content, I just thought it was too much one each page.
Literally it killed the experience for me having so much, on one small space, every single page.
DK has so many great books that tell you pretty much the same thing, and are laid out a little better.
It wasn't a favorite of mine, but that doesn't mean it won't work for you, so don't let my opinion deter you if you look interested.

"Half encyclopedia, half almanac, and 100% awesome!" Absolutely. This book is chock full of eye-opening statistics on everything you could possibly imagine. Great for reluctant readers. The awesomeness of this book can only be fully appreciated by actually flipping through it.
