The thing this book has going for it is the lift-the-flaps and a cute bunny. The story is another bland Thanksgiving story about Pilgrims and food. Like I said, the lift-the-flaps makes it interesting.
The nephew loves lift-the flaps so he read this one to himself, or he just flips the pictures and figuring out how the flaps work. The Niece gave this 2 stars and the nephew gave it 4 stars. This would be great for very young kids age 2-3.
This cute little book goes through all the different aspects of Thanksgiving. First they discuss Thanksgiving in school. Then Emily and her dad go to the farmer's market to buy food (and bonus to them for going to a farmer's market, not the grocery store!) Next they see the Thanksgiving Parade. Finally it's time to cook the dinner, set the table, welcome the guests, and eat. The story is adorable and the images under the flaps mesh wonderfully. The kids love this book and my younger ones think this is definitely a Thanksgiving favorite.
Emily the bunny is doing everything she knows to do to get ready for Thanksgiving. From going shopping with her dad, to making crafts for the table and inviting her family over for dinner. This was a fun lift the flap book for my nearly 4 year old granddaughter and I to read together.
