I’ve been crushing on my best friend’s twin brother for—I don’t know—forever.
Parker Montgomery. The hottest f*boy in Seaglass Beach. Hell, maybe the entire state of Florida. His panty-melting charm is the stuff of legends. And I’ve seen that dazzling smile melt the resolve of more than one Southern belle. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone immune to Parker freaking Montgomery.
Including me.
He’s never so much as glanced my way, so I’ve all but given up hope on anything ever happening between us.
Until a hurricane blows through, knocking out a good portion of my tiny duplex, and suddenly I’m Parker’s new roommate. For the first time ever, things between us are heating up and feeling a lot less than platonic.
But I’m not sure I should trust the biggest playboy in town, even if he is hot as sin and far deeper than his reputation suggests. Now I’m falling in love with Parker Montgomery—and that could turn out to be the biggest mistake of my life.
This was a super cute best friend’s brother romance with a little help from Mother Nature!
Parker Montgomery is the playboy of Seaglass Beach, but that’s only because the woman he wants, his sister’s best friend, is forbidden from him.
Olivia has always had eyes for Parker, but she’s seen his revolving door of women and thinks she can never match up. And one night with Parker would never be enough for her.
When the sparks fly, I mean they FLY. These two cannot keep their hands to themselves, which causes some problems. They are super cute together, but dealing with the ire of Parker’s twin might be too much for them.
This is a really fun and spicy small town romance!
Ughhhh poppy was the actual worst. Why did she get mad that SHE walked into PARKER’S house and saw them naked. Like you made the choice to walk into someone else’s house without permission. Also I am so tired of the caveat in best friends brother troupe where the sibling is so hurt for the best friend and brother lying to them. Like I get a little hurt but good lord poppy was so furious that they “lied” NO ONE OWES YOU INFORMATION ON THEIR RELATIONSHIP it does not matter if you are best friends or siblings you aren’t owed that information. It’s not like they hid for months on end. So many little things pissed me off in this book about the characters. Poppy probably one of my least favorite characters she never redeemed herself in my eyes.

I received this as an arc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was a good best friend’s brother romance. The story was well written and it had a good pace. I loved Liv, she was such a sweetheart but it took me a while to warm up to Parker, he was just too much of a player for me but I did warm up to him in the end. I liked the setting of the story and I hope to see more stories in the same setting, maybe Parker’s siblings? I definitely think that it would be interesting.
Liv and Parker story was incredible. I just loved everything about this story. So much love and happiness and everything in between. I can’t wait to read more of this amazing series. 💙
What I’m Starry-Eyed Over: 🤩 The family-run Inn. 🤩 The small beach town feels & great friends and family (plus an enemy or two). 🤩 The hurricane. 🤩 The pact. Forbidden is so yummy! 🤩 Best Friend’s Brother (sister’s best friend) AND forced proximity. 🤩 Seaglass Beach beauty and please take me to Coastal Coffee & Seaglass Sips. 🤩 Reformed playboy & it’s always been you. 🤩 The steam! The love shack! The bonfire! . . .
What I’m Wishing/Dizzy About: 💫 Nothing at all. All the feels, low angst, romcom fun!
I loved this book. I loved it so much. No third act break up. HEA. It was one of my favorite types of books, what I like to call: beach reads. It’s one of those one day reads that you can’t put down because you fell in love with the characters and you NEED them to have a happily ever after. I’ve been reading a lot of these books recently and I’m loving it! It’s small town beach romance and was done really really well. The characters were memorable, not annoying and well thought out. The only thing that irked me was the way Poppy and Liv would say “Gawd.” And the way it’s spelled…it got on my nerves. I know exactly what the author was doing, just the spelling irritated me. I was able to quickly look past that, just something I noticed. I’m currently reading Poppy’s story and can’t wait to see how their story unfolds.
This sibling's best friend romance in a small-town novel is quite an entertaining read! I received an ARC from the author and thoroughly enjoyed reading this story.
Do you ever expect to find love during Hurricane season? I am sure Parker and Olivia did not, but that is precisely what happens in this sweet romance.
Parker always had feelings for Olivia but respected his pact with his twin sister, Poppy - never to be more than friends with her best friend. Of course, Olivia has feelings for Parker too, but he seems to have a bevvy of women to keep him warm.
When Parker and Olivia are forced to spend more one and one time together after the hurricane, will they be able to keep their feelings for each other secret now?
Unmistakable is a well-written and even-paced story that will have you turning the pages.
Reasons I enjoyed this book: Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Page-turner, Steamy, Wonderful characters
What a fun read of a small-town friendship and hidden feelings for years. Throw in a surprise agreement and man what a whirlwind of a story. Literally. Great characters and hints of the next few books that are possible in the series.
Another siblings best friend book another childhood pact. This is the 3rd book I've read this month where the siblings/best friends have made a pact. And it's always the guys making them.
I wanted to like this book but there was nothing gripping about it. I wasn't drawn in at all.
Parker, honestly was written too much by a woman. There was too much of the feminine voice and gaze in him.
Liv, needed some self respect because she saw and heard of al of Parks hookups. One came to the door, another wouldnt stop texting but she was so desperate for him she didn't care. Quite literally didn't care if it was only for the weekend. Secondly, she squawks, like a freaking bird. That's all I can imagine with her speech. Her squawking in this really annoying voice. Especially when the author uses "ohmygawd". Tell me that doesn't remind you of a bird squawk.
The writing is okay which is why it get 2 stars, but the the plot the characters honestly would get 0 stars from me. It's not terrible. I just really didn't like it.
DNF at 45% - the dialogue in this book is only well written in the spicy scenes, the rest of it had me cringing constantly. Absolutely couldn’t get through this.
We meet the FMC and the MMC while they are preparing for a hurricane. The FMC, Liv (Olivia), is best friends with the MMC’s, (Parker), twin sister. So, this has the forbidden relationship trope along with them being from a small town. I do love a good forbidden romance. The author does a really good job of setting up the characters’ relationship between each other as well as with the other characters in the book. This gives you a good understanding of what they mean to each other before you even get started with their relationship. Poppy (Parker’s twin sister) is Liv’s best friend and the main reason that Liv and Parker never give into their feelings. Feelings that they have had for each other for the greater part of their lives. Parker takes on a playboy persona, he is so used to no one taking him seriously, he becomes Mr. Right Now instead of Mr. Right. But he wants to be Mr. Right for Liv. Liv rarely dates anyone because her heart is set on Parker. Lucky for them, a hurricane causes them to become roommates. This is the perfect design to get them both together and they realize the feelings they have for each other are shared. However, it’s never that simple. They both must deal with issues that arise and a very upset Poppy when she learns of their relationship. Overall, the book is really well written, and there is no third act breakup (thank goodness). I just couldn’t fully immerse myself into the story. Don’t get me wrong, I was able to read it in an afternoon sitting (so it definitely keeps your attention), but it just didn’t get me in the feelings like I expected it to. I wanted to hurt with and for them, but I felt the emotional parts of the book felt more trivial and almost just surface level. I would still recommend this book, especially for a semi lighthearted, feel good read. I received an ARC of this book for free. And am voluntarily leaving a review.
𝔹𝕠𝕠𝕜 𝕋𝕚𝕥𝕝𝕖: Unmistakable 𝔸𝕦𝕥𝕙𝕠𝕣: Kara Kendrick 𝔾𝕖𝕟𝕣𝕖: Romance
𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐬: Unmistakable is a best friends brother romance set in a small town, really what more could I want?.
There was so much to love about this book, but one of my favourites was Parker, which is surprising for me because I am not a fan of playboys 𝘈𝘛 𝘈𝘓𝘓. However, the author managed to make his character not only loveable and realistic but also incredibly endearing. The way he is with Liv will make your heart happy, I know it did mine, but also, the way he cares for his sister showed he was much more than I was expecting from the character. He was definitely the star of the show for me!.
The storyline was fantastic and kept me on my toes and a smile on my face. Who doesn't love a little unrequited love turned secret lovers romance?
This is definitely one of my favourites by the author. She never disappoints, but this one had that little extra magic for me.
#unmistakable is book two in the #seaglassbeachseries by @authorkarakendrick
Parker: Flirt. Hard working. Good time. He is working at the family tiki bar at the inn they own while having fun with the clientele. He’s known for not being serious and an overall good time. But when a hurricane comes, he and his sister, along with her best friend need to hunker down and be safe. This not only brought minor damage to the tiki bar but being so close to his sister’s best friend could have brought damage to their relationship. Can he prove he’s more than a good time or will no one ever take him seriously?
Liv: Driven. Shy. Crushing on her besties brother. Liv had been working as an event planner for a while and is great at her job. Her mom gives her a hard time about everything, but fails to see how in demand she is. While planning multiple parties, the agenda is mucked up due to a hurricane. Not only was their damage to little things, but also her house. Now she’s staying with her longtime crush and is trying not to show her cards. But when he makes the first move is she able to hold back or is all her fantasies coming true consequences be damned ?
This was a cute book. I love a best friends brother trope. Plus adding in the forced proximity and everything is gold. I did really love the connection that Parker and Liv had, Poppy was a bit dramatic for me. Overall a cute read.

🌴 Hurricane Clementine wasn’t the only storm brewing in Seaglass Beach! Not a bad first read for this author. I thoroughly enjoyed it. ‘Unmistakable’ gives you all those small town feels wrapping up in a tiny little beach town. Parker and Liv are everything two characters from a small town are wrapped up to be and much more than I expected. A cute read with some humor involved also with the sexy parts everyone loves to read. You’ll fall quick for this duo and the HEA that follows. Get it today at the link in my bio!
Parker Montgomery is the guy she has wanted for half her life, but he doesn't have the foggiest idea that she's interested in him. All he sees when he looks at her is his sister's best friend, and that fact stings a little more than she cares to admit. She has all but given up on the idea of them ever being something, thinking it's never gonna happen... then Mother Nature steps in shakes things up!
Unmistakable is a sweet and steamy small town romance that comes with a captivating story line and unforgettable characters. This first time read did not disappoint, the moment I met this pairing I was hooked on their every word! Parker is the boy that every girl in town wants, including Olivia, even though she knows that it's pointless, then she becomes his roommate and things take a exciting turn. I really enjoyed watching these two weather the storm that was their relationship, both had doubts and worries and sometimes those things overshadow their feelings, but have no fear love eventually wins out.
If you like small town romances with all the feels you can handle then you must pick this one, it's well penned words promise to leave your heart thoroughly squeezed!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
Full disclosure, I received an ARC of Unmistakable from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Things I liked: -Beach setting -His nickname for her, "Fizz" -The spice was well done -No true 3rd act break up -Dual POV
Things I struggled to connect with -The tension between the Montgomery family and the Capellis. I'm not sure if I missed what started the bad blood, but I could have gone without that plot line. -I felt some of the characters were immature for their age. Parker is a reformed player, so I expected a fair amount of immaturity from him as he worked through his commitment issues, but the drama with Poppy. She was such a frustrating character. -The spice although well done and one of the things I liked, also started to feel a little redundant towards the end. I think some different dialogue would have made it better or for them to change up the sequence. A lot of the same words were used every time they became intimate and I think it needed more variety. -I would have loved a little more angst since the pining had gone on for so long.
Overall, I liked this one but wish there had been more angst. Childhood friends/ crush to lovers is a tough combination to get across all those years of mutual pining.
Right waste of time. 0/10, don't do it to urself. Just bad writing.
There's a fist fight in a store. Mmc vs 3 guys that has no consequences. Like so unrealistic. One of em goes through an entire tower of paper rolls, the poor store workers. And yet there's nobody around?? Literally nothin happens. And 1 dude vs 3 and he wins? Bro like stop turning ur mmc into unrealistic hard boys with no actual thought behind it.
The mmc and fmc have no chemistry!! They're both like "oh I can't get any words out around my one true love, my obsession for years" and then next thing u know they're fucking! Literally they barely talk. It's just bad writing.
The pacing is so bad. The author rushes through everything just to get to the parts where the fmc and the mmc "interact" (quotation marks bc, again, they don't communicate with each other beyond the most awkward writing I've ever seen). An example, Poppy goes to shower and get dressed and the two mcs have like a 30 second interaction and then Poppy is back. Only The Flash could shower that quick! Like if u want to revolve ur entire book around 2 characters that fine (not great writing but fine) but at least have actual logical timing!!!
The whole book is just a poor excuse to write porn. And the porn isn't even good porn!!
Also the word "gawd" does not need to appear in any book that many times.
"I’ve been in love with Parker Montgomery practically my entire life and now we’re together in his bed, naked, kissing. I’m either dreaming or in heaven.”
I really liked this book! This is my first from this author and definitely won’t be my last! I really liked the best friend’s brother trope. I loved reading how Liv’s House gets ruined from the hurricane, and how she needs to stay with Parker, Liv’s best friend’s brother. I loved all the force proximity in this romance! Parker and Liv have been pining for each other for years now. I loved how eventually Parker can’t hold back. Parker has been the town’s playboy, but that’s just because he couldn’t have the one woman he wanted, Liv. Now that he’s gotten her he’ll do anything to keep her in his life. This book was very steamy, and I was for it! The only thing I didn’t like was how Parker’s sister reacts to Parker and her friend getting together. I wish she didn’t act so immature to the relationship. But overall, this romance was a great one, and I can’t wait to hopefully get more from this small town and amazing characters!
Read if you like: Dual POVs Small town romance Best friend’s brother Sister’s best friend Forced proximity Mutual pining Mutual crush Open door romance
This story has so much potential but for me it never quite reached it. Parker and Liv have been in each other's lives since they were kids. His twin being Liv best friend complicated things for them. So they've been living their lives pining for each other but doing nothing to disturb the peace. But one hurricane later and things have changed. Now they can't get enough of each other. But Poppy (BFF) is torn to their happiness and she is on my shit-list for sure. I get where she's coming from but girl come on...
OK now for the thing that is getting on my nerves; how can people who are in love and pinning for someone and not doing anything to make them theirs, parade other people in front of that person??? This happens in this book and I've had this on my mind for a hot minute with other books too - there is no excuse for it even if you need to pretend you're doing it so that that special person can move on... This book got the grunt of my issues but it wasn't bad just missed something that WOWed me.
Now I'm digging in book 2 and hopefully Poppy can come out a winner for me on the other side.

This is my first book by Kara Kendrick and I liked her writing style and really enjoyed this story. It is a lovely romance between Olivia and Parker and is best friends brother trope, It seems like Olivia has crushed on her best friends twin brother Parker for forever, but then again so has every girl because he is so hot and swoony. But he doesn't really notice her,but then a hurricane leaves them stranded together as roommates, and so it is the first time that they are in close proximity together. Its is also the first time that Parker starts to notice Olivia, because it is the first real opportunity that they have had a chance to get to know one another. There is chemistry between them sending all sorts of sparks flying. But Parker has a reputation with the ladies,so can Olivia really trust Parkers feelings?..is she just another one of his conquests? Also what will happen when Parkers twin sister and Olivias best friend do when she finds out about them? This book warmed my heart and gave me all the feels. It is a sweet, sexy and adorable read that I found myself relishing and loving the characters and the whole premise of the book. A great worthwhile read. 5 Stars.

‘Unmistakable’ was definitely a fun read. I always enjoy this trope, and in this book it had a little fun aspect as Parker and his sister where twins. I enjoyed reading about the friendship between Olivia and Poppy, but also the connection Parker had with his twin. It made for a fun dynamic.
The two main characters where really fun to get to know. I loved Parker, but definitely wished he would have shown his true feelings a lot earlier. I honestly didn’t really get why he couldn’t earlier on? Without revealing too much.. it just seemed a bit odd to me that if you have such strong feelings about someone, you never talk about it with anyone. Olivia’s character was my favorite, because I felt like had a lot in common with her. Especially since she was also such a planner.
The whole hurricane part was very interesting. I’ve never read a book with a hurricane making trouble for the characters. It was fun to have a bit of a unique setting.
Overall ‘Unmistakable’ was a fun read, with some very romantic and intense moments. I couldn’t really feel the romance part as much as I would have liked.. but it sure was fun.
Read Unmistakable if you like -Small town beach vibes -close family -Best friends’s brother -Forced proximity -Steamy chemistry -and throw in a hurricane for good measure
Parker has always been off limits to Liv because he’s her best friend’s twin brother and she can’t ruin her friendship but her heart hasn’t gotten the message yet. Liv is the one woman he can’t have so he spends his time elsewhere even though it’s not what he wants and when a hurricane destroys Liv’s house Parker doesn’t hesitate to offer up his spare bedroom.
Within the walls of his home, Parker lets the floodgates open and the sparks between him and Liv really fly. They are happy in their little bubble but they are in a precarious situation because of Poppy and how she will react; will her react break them apart or can they weather the storm together?
Unmistakable is a super quick and steamy little read and it’s book one in the Seaglass Beach series and each of the Montgomery siblings will get their story. I have an idea who’s story is next so we’ll just have to wait and see.
Thank you @authorkarakendrick for this eARC in exchange for my honest feedback
This was a super cute best friends brother romance. I loved Parker and Liv, the fact that they both pined for each other for how long really also made the quick love and speed they moved at make sense and not feel rushed. And once they got going it was fire, and so sweet as well. I always loved reading Parker's point of view because he was so smitten with her and it was adorable.
Added bonus was there was a lot of spice in this as well and it was hot!
I do have to say that I spent a good portion of the book disliking Poppy though, but I was happy that Liv and Parker stood up to her and she did eventually come around. I am excited to read the other books in this series but I might have to wait a little before I do as the next book is Poppy's and even though I somewhat understood her POV and she was fine in the end, I'm still a little annoyed with her lol. There was also a few easter eggs in this book that hinted at future couples so I liked the set up there.
Overall I really enjoyed this read, and the writing, and will definitely be adding this author and series to my TBR list :)
3 stars This was a nice enjoyable story, the characters are adorable, Parker is kind and charming and Liv is sweet and lovely. I didn't like the premise though: 2 decades pining for each other, without saying a words, just because Liv and Parker's sister, Poppy, are best friends; Liv carries a heavy sense of guilt toward her friend and Parker is convinced he has to respect a pact he made with his twin when they were just 12 years old. I think they made a huge deal over that, their feelings were honest and deep and they shouldn't have waited all those years. Poppy was way too much a drama queen. Anyway I really appreciated how Parker fought for Liv, how he understood that her special bond with Poppy needed to be saved and I loved how he tourned out to be the right guy, despite everyone else's assumptions. The HEA was very sweet and unexpected.
I hope the author will write stories with the side characters, they were very interesting, especially the grumpy ones, King and Griffin.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
When a hurricane takes out your and the guy you have been crushing on for years offers to let you stay with him, what could possibly go wrong? Well, when he is also your brother's best friend things can get a little tricky. Unmistakeable is a forced proximity, brother's best friend romance that sees Olivia, the shy girl that is an event planner and Parker, the playboy of Seaglass Beach who works at the Tiki Bar that his family owns, end up as roommates because of a hurricane that goes through. The two of them are friends and Liv has had it hard for Parker for years but he has a revolving door to his place and knows that she is not his type. Could she be wrong about his feelings for her? Is there a reason that he has never settled down? Living together has the two of them revealing secrets and blurring lines that ignite a fire between the two of them. Ms. Kendrick delivers a well-written, page-turner and must-read story that will have you loving the characters and wanting to move to Seaglass Beach. I cannot wait for the next installment in this series.
