A decently interesting collection of ghostly sites from across Florida. The tales generally strike the right balance between history and hauntings. The only minus is that some sections depend on psychics, rather than first-hand ghostly experiences, for their anecdotes. (B+)

Great book. One of the things I really love about reading books like this is all the history that's involved.

A very interesting book, has a lot of history about each sight which adds to the intrigue. It breaks the stories up into sections (Keys, Central, North, etc) so it's easy to find stories if a native or visitor wants to see what's in their area.

There isn't actually any "ghost hunting" involved, the author goes to areas and records word of mouth stories from people that work/are associated with places that are reported to be haunted. Occasionally he brings his friend, who claims to be sensitive, to areas and he writes what she sees or hears.

On occasion, the author had a tendency to trail off topic to talk about his personal opinions on the places they stayed at and if they planned to go back later. So some parts read like a mini hotel review and kind of stripped the "creep" factor from some stories. But it doesn't really hurt the writing, just something a bit unexpected in a book about ghosts. Kudos to anyone who has the courage to stay somewhere reportedly haunted, twice.

The short stories are good and now I have a list of new places to check out for myself. I have been to some already.
