A good (and perhaps only) general introduction to Burton and his Anatomy of Melancholy and other (very minor) works. There's a good critical analysis of language and structure so is much less one sided than Ruth Fox's excellent book on the structure of the Anatomy.

A great, concise introduction to the life of Robert Burton, along with a summary of the book that consumed his intellectual life The Anatomy of Melancholy.
