I really liked that this book is truly for beginners. So many times how-to books are written with the idea in mind that the person has at least some idea of the project, but fail to really go step by step. The reader is taught what fat quarters are, what quarter yards are, what equipment you need, how to cut evenly, piecing, pinning, pressing, constructing units, layering, basting, binding, and general tips to make the work easier.

Lynn and I share the experience of kidney surgery. I was lucky to not need a kidney, but Lynn did. Aren't we all lucky that someone gave the gift of continued life to such a talented and generous person? I read Lynn's second book before this one. It tickled me to see how much she has changed in her approach in the time between books. So fun to read.
