This was my childhood book. I honestly love this book. It took me years to find it. It was a good read, and I love the illustrations.

If I was Boss written by Kes Gray and Nick Sharratt is a very short but funny book for young children ages 4-6. I was asked to read this book to the children within the Reception class I was in on placement. The children found this book extremely funny and exciting and I think that is due to the fact a lot of them like to think they can relate to it. After reading the story to the children I asked each of them what they would do if they were boss in their house for the day. I seemed to get a lot of similar responses that were in the book for example, having sweets for breakfast or never having to tidy their rooms again. Although this book is very simple and short I really liked how much it got the children involved and how much it got them to relate the story to their own lives, which is very important at a young age, it helps the children grow knowledge about understanding the world. The book is very bright and colourful and keeps the children’s eyes locked on each page and I also liked how the sentences are very short and simple with a picture that relates to each one, this was a good way to get the children reading the story as well.

Funny kids story! Daisy would do what she wanted all day long, and never have to clean up if she were boss. But the house would get messy Daisy! Nope, because she'd make mum tidy up. ha ha!
